There is often a special sale on one category or another. The owner, Deb, is an artist, a delight to visit with and so helpful. Each visit is a new experience bcz Deb rearranges as she receives new merchandise. My sisters and I have each purchased clothes and jewelry, and have received glowing comments from friends about our purchases. Deb always ties a ribbon and often a flower to your bag. The shop is in Mission, part of a cute strip of stores on Johnson Drive. I wish the reviewer who intended to blast a store in Zona Rosa, but misidentified it as this one would correct her mistake.

The clothing is organized well and the prices are generally reasonable. The housewares and book selection is limited as well as limited toys. The service is friendly, but I do believe they follow around the customers too much. I think they have volunteers since it's part of Catholic charities, but they seem to always be putting away clothing in the area that people are shopping and watching the customers which is uncomfortable.

The merchandise is all custom made in house, designers, pattern makers, seamstress'... all in house! They actually go to Japan and buy genuine kimono's and remake shirts, vests, scarves, jackets... anything. The can even custom design exactly what you want. Every piece is like art and truly one of a kind. It is all very expensive, right down to the few genuine Asian home decor pieces, but it is so worth it if you have that kind of budget. If you need the pieces taken in, extra fabric added, or even a button/zipper replaced; it's all done for free... for the price you pay it's sort of like a guarantee... I love to go in every now and again to see the new pieces!

I have this on video. Initially a great experience, timely and "cheap" repair of a 14k necklace along with a watch battery replacement. Paid $60 for both and went on my way very pleased with the service. Unfortunately, the new jump ring from the replacement clasp snagged and I noticed the chain had disconnected but the engraved pendant had already fallen off into a grassy area. After contacting him know of the incident, he offered to look at the break and see if it could be fixed or refunded as discussed in the attached texts. Upon inspection today, we both agreed it was not NECESSARILY a fault of the repair but I still hoped to have the chain repaired with 14k gold clasp. I mentioned that I had requested this initially and he got angry. I requested a refund again and he handed me the necklace back refusing because "I didn't have a receipt" - despite him asking me to bring it in over text. That is still all fine - uncomfortable and irritating but I was fine with leaving and cutting my losses UNTIL he followed me out of the store calling me a "cheap *****", flipping the middle finger (pictured), and threatening to sue me. For what? I'm not sure. I am a young woman with self-respect and refuse to be screamed at by anyone especially not someone offering ME a service. He only changed his tone and backed away from me once I started recording him - but his grandson or nephew took a photo of my license plate as I got in my car. It felt very violating - I cannot recommend this store for repairs of any kind.

It didn't seem a major repair to me but as I called different places, including in other states where I was at the time, they were asking hundreds of dollars! One quote seemed higher than the actual worth of the ring I found this gem of a place, and they provided a rate that was less than 1/2 of some I had received. For under $100, they replaced the stone & shined this thing up. No need to heat it or do other ridiculous things that some other jewelers had suggested, likely just to scam me. This place seems to have integrity and know what they are doing, which you can also tell from some of the beautiful pieces and pictures they have in their shop. Job well done, thank you!

In the last 6 months they removed the best feature in the store, the unsorted shopping carts in the back. It was nice to get to hunt through a few carts, like a real treasure hunt. No more. Gone. Those were the best bargains, and I'd spend over $50-60 easily each week. Since the carts ended, they've been making the store more like a boutique, and I'm not convinced it's a good idea. This seems to be the trend for these thrift stores, perhaps it's to get more money from the donated goods, but they are pricing out a lot of their customers in my opinion. There are still bargains, but it's less and less common to come across lately.. Overpriced items sit for months in the showcase, and they never apply the color tag discounts to items in that case. I've seen the same 4 gaudy german hiking medals at $10 each (they were $15 for a long time) relegated to the bottom of the case, in a heap, on some sort of overpriced little china plate. Overpriced items sit, until they do a large sale (like 50% off white tags) once every few months, or they get repriced and moved around the store. I saw a $1.99 Star Trek game sitting by the toys, I came back 2 days later, it was in the showcase and priced at $19.99 - it was worth $10 on eBay once upon a time, and that was 4-5 years and 3 computer generations later. Someone needs to clue the staff in to how to price things, and not just look on eBay for the latest asking price. If you want to price donated goods at the eBay asking price, you're asking for a lot of your customers to head to City Thrift, Red Racks, or Goodwill. Also, it's been a year. Please pave your parking lot. There are potholes 4 ft x 4 ft wide just inside the entrance on Lamar. It's getting ridiculous. Update: They re-paved the lot and put some 25c bins in the back, an improvement!
