I set up monthly payments on THEIR site despite that. The company the monthly payments are done through showed me they paid them, and they are still harassing me over the bill that's been paid. They didn't apply it to my account. Just stay away. The billing issues with this place are a constant nightmare. I'm so close to filing a BBB complaint. It's been constant issues with billing.

The entire experience of both the appointment and after the appointment has been nothing short of a…read morenightmare. During the appointment, I felt rushed in and quickly shown out with little to no genuine care. I was looking for a referral for an oral surgeon, and they spent basically five minutes with me before handing me my referral. They showed no concern for my pain nor my condition. Also, the doctor that they referred me to does not even treat my condition. Their care was nothing short of sloppy. After the appointment has been even less pleasant than the appointment itself. With little to no communication, they have sent me bills for the appointment despite my insurance assuring me that my appointment was covered. I've had to call them multiple times to ask for the status of this bill, and they have given me no answers. I have asked for them to call me back once the claim gets approved or denied, and they failed to do that as well. Weeks later, a receptionist, Kendra, finally called me 30 minutes before closing to threaten to send this bill to collections. The first words from her were, "Do you want to settle this bill before we send it to collections?" I have been very communicative with both them and my insurance company, so receiving that call in that way was upsetting, to say the least. I'm getting ping ponged between them and my insurance company, and she didn't even call me early enough in the day to allow me time to try and contact my insurance and call her back. It's one thing to call a patient about an outstanding bill, it's another thing completely to threaten someone with this debt when they're actively trying to fix the issue. Both the timing and her immediately posing this threat feels like they were trying to pressure me to hand over money that my insurance is working on paying. If they do send it to collections, they will be forcing me, a full-time college student dealing with chronic pain, to now pay this bill on top of the doctor's visits, medications, and physical therapy that I am already out of pocket for. I'm sure they are fully aware of that, and they were trying to make me feel terrified about the fact that my insurance was moving slowly. This business is ruthless, and they will make sure that they get their money from you for the crap service they provide. I guarantee that even if I call them tomorrow explaining what my insurance has relayed to me, they will still pile this debt onto me. If you are looking for quality care and to be treated like a person, go anywhere else.

I kept thinking that maybe Dr Jim was having a bad day,... I was hoping that my next visit would be a much better experience. Sadly, each time I was there, He lacked professionalism beyond words. She "wasn't holding the tools right", or he snapped at her for not being fast enough, & there were times he grabbed her hand aggressively to put the tool where he wanted it. It was very awkward witnessing this as I'm laying back in the dentist chair, all of this going on above me just inches from my face. Not to mention, feeling embarrassed for the dental assistant. The work I had done also had me returning after my new crown fell off after only a few days. I finally changed dentists and am so glad I did! I should go ahead and state that I have a balance at PDC at this time of about 280.00, which was the balance of the bridgework that my insurance did not pay. I had to pay quite a bit out of pocket before that work was even done. Due to a death in the family & caring for another elderly parent, money has been short. We called PDC 3 days ago & told them my symptoms, which were all concurrant with an abcess. The office then told us that I would not be seen, nor any antibiotics would be called in until the balance was paid. I have been a patient at this office for 13+ years & have never had an outstanding balance. Dr. Turner, who originally founded the practice, retired a couple of years ago & it was purchased by Dr. Kentros, who I've found is a more cosmetically centered dentist. I decided to stay with the practice, as I had been there for so long, but I'm sorely regretting that decision. I had to go to an emergency dentist since all the clinics nearby had no openings. After X-rays and examination, it was found that the bridge that cost well over 1,000.00 was installed with a gap in it, which exposed the root and caused an abcess. Thank God they gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I was told by the emergency clinic that the bridge would need to be removed and replaced. They suggested I call PDC, who did the work, to either repair, or to be given a refund so the work can be done elsewhere. Upon calling said clinic, I was told they still would do nothing until the balance was paid. Maybe I'm wrong here, but why would I pay this amount when the work was faulty to begin with? I'm furious, sick, and do not have an extra 280.00 in my account to spare. I was told it was an insurance issue & not an ethical one. It was allot of money and pain to have this work done. Beware!

Whereas I expected to be talked into getting a crown, Dr Lafont fixed the broken tooth with a build-up of resin procedure. As a side note, I also got my teeth cleaned by Raven immediately following the repair of the broken tooth. She did an excellent job and provided some info that I'm thankful to have received. Being early January, I'd not yet swapped-out my insurance card in my wallet, which caused a computer-generated automatic denial of coverage. And, the receptionist assisted by contacting my insurance company, verified that I have coverage, and efficiently dealt with the administrative SNAFU. The only negative that I can identify is that the entrance to their parking lot is steep. So, it's wise to drive slowly when entering their parking lot. However, my husband also has transitioned to this office, along with one of our adult children. Besides my dentist, there has been a lot of transition in the office, with all but one of his previous staff leaving by this year. I also noticed that the other dentists in the office have changed several times, with only my dentist being the same one still there within 18 months. I have not had the same hygienist clean my teeth in the three times I've been there. This is a bit of a change from any dental practice I've ever experienced, ever throughout the course of several decades in a couple states. I guess the dental industry is changing a bit, and if you are going to a chain dentist, you aren't going to have the same person cleaning your teeth every 6 months for years. I will probably miss walking and recognizing people, or having them ask about the kids and family, but as long as I get a good cleaning every 6 months, that should be sufficient. I'll be interested to see who might be there next year when I go back.
