The dentist does not pay attention to your concerns and hurries you in and out. I believe this is a widespread issue in healthcare today. Consider visiting a non-corporate dentist. You will likely be more satisfied, as they genuinely care for their patients, unlike this facility. Last year, I had eight cavities filled by them, only to later see a new dentist who informed me that I had no cavities, and they had drilled into perfectly healthy teeth. I returned to discuss my TMJ issues, but she rushed me through the appointment. She mentioned sending me to physical therapy, but I expressed my preference for injections, to which she replied that she would refer me to a TMJ specialist. When I contacted them, I was told that Naos PT does not provide injections and does not accept my insurance, despite my dentist claiming otherwise. I have decided not to return to this place, and it frustrates me how little they seem to care.

The entire experience of both the appointment and after the appointment has been nothing short of a…read morenightmare. During the appointment, I felt rushed in and quickly shown out with little to no genuine care. I was looking for a referral for an oral surgeon, and they spent basically five minutes with me before handing me my referral. They showed no concern for my pain nor my condition. Also, the doctor that they referred me to does not even treat my condition. Their care was nothing short of sloppy. After the appointment has been even less pleasant than the appointment itself. With little to no communication, they have sent me bills for the appointment despite my insurance assuring me that my appointment was covered. I've had to call them multiple times to ask for the status of this bill, and they have given me no answers. I have asked for them to call me back once the claim gets approved or denied, and they failed to do that as well. Weeks later, a receptionist, Kendra, finally called me 30 minutes before closing to threaten to send this bill to collections. The first words from her were, "Do you want to settle this bill before we send it to collections?" I have been very communicative with both them and my insurance company, so receiving that call in that way was upsetting, to say the least. I'm getting ping ponged between them and my insurance company, and she didn't even call me early enough in the day to allow me time to try and contact my insurance and call her back. It's one thing to call a patient about an outstanding bill, it's another thing completely to threaten someone with this debt when they're actively trying to fix the issue. Both the timing and her immediately posing this threat feels like they were trying to pressure me to hand over money that my insurance is working on paying. If they do send it to collections, they will be forcing me, a full-time college student dealing with chronic pain, to now pay this bill on top of the doctor's visits, medications, and physical therapy that I am already out of pocket for. I'm sure they are fully aware of that, and they were trying to make me feel terrified about the fact that my insurance was moving slowly. This business is ruthless, and they will make sure that they get their money from you for the crap service they provide. I guarantee that even if I call them tomorrow explaining what my insurance has relayed to me, they will still pile this debt onto me. If you are looking for quality care and to be treated like a person, go anywhere else.

I woke up 3 days ago with an extremely swollen face, pain & inflammation in the area of a bridge…read morethat was done late last year. I should go ahead and state that I have a balance at PDC at this time of about 280.00, which was the balance of the bridgework that my insurance did not pay. I had to pay quite a bit out of pocket before that work was even done. Due to a death in the family & caring for another elderly parent, money has been short. We called PDC 3 days ago & told them my symptoms, which were all concurrant with an abcess. The office then told us that I would not be seen, nor any antibiotics would be called in until the balance was paid. I have been a patient at this office for 13+ years & have never had an outstanding balance. Dr. Turner, who originally founded the practice, retired a couple of years ago & it was purchased by Dr. Kentros, who I've found is a more cosmetically centered dentist. I decided to stay with the practice, as I had been there for so long, but I'm sorely regretting that decision. I had to go to an emergency dentist since all the clinics nearby had no openings. After X-rays and examination, it was found that the bridge that cost well over 1,000.00 was installed with a gap in it, which exposed the root and caused an abcess. Thank God they gave me a prescription for antibiotics. I was told by the emergency clinic that the bridge would need to be removed and replaced. They suggested I call PDC, who did the work, to either repair, or to be given a refund so the work can be done elsewhere. Upon calling said clinic, I was told they still would do nothing until the balance was paid. Maybe I'm wrong here, but why would I pay this amount when the work was faulty to begin with? I'm furious, sick, and do not have an extra 280.00 in my account to spare. I was told it was an insurance issue & not an ethical one. It was allot of money and pain to have this work done. Beware!

When I asked him to recommend a dentist when I moved to Birmingham, he only recommended one - Dr. Mark Moulton. I have been more than happy with Dr. Moulton. He is a very knowledgeable and skilled dentist. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. After I got married, my new wife switched over to him, after hearing about my experiences with Dr. Moulton. I don't know if he is taking new patients, but if you need a great dentist, you can take comfort knowing he is one of Birmingham's best.
