3/15/2026 Ate list: Gyro - 9.1 We've been in The Villages for a stretch now and a lot of the food was feeling very similar so we wanted to switch it up. This was ideal. Incredibly delicious. Surprisingly good. First meal is awhile that felt both "fresh" and "refreshing." If we're back in town, definitely stopping here and the "Food Hall/Market" square it's part of feels like a semi-hidden gem! read more

This is now the third time here and each time, I learn a bit more about their system in terms of so many items per each dish from which to choose. In a previous review, I posted that they need to add something more to their tzatziki. Upon mentioning this to the girl checking me out, she said that they had temporarily been out of dill and so that may have been the issue. However, I did not have that to test out as instead I ordered a salad bowl. So this time, with the avocado hummus, lots of olives and a few other items plus falafels, it was done. I requested the Greek dressing and then asked to also have the balsamic dressing. That was added and it makes the dish really good and it looked delicious. So, now I am a happy camper, understanding what and how to order what I like. As usual the service was fast and friendly. I guess I will give the tzatziki a chance next time maybe... read more

Luma Mediterranean Kitchen was just okay for me. The atmosphere is pretty standard for a fast-casual Mediterranean place -- you order at the counter, grab your tray, and seat yourself. There are no servers, so it feels more like a quick-stop eatery than a true dine-in restaurant. The food itself could have been better. The menu doesn't offer many side options, and the only real side they include is pita chips. I would've liked to see more variety, especially for Mediterranean cuisine. which usually has great choices like hummus. The flavors were decent, but not very authentic compared to other Mediterranean spots I've tried. The drinks are just basic fountain drinks, nothing special. The seating situation wasn't the greatest either, since the restaurant is located inside the marketplace area at Sawgrass Grove. It makes the dining experience feel a bit cramped and not very comfortable. It's not a terrible option for the area, but there are definitely better Mediterranean restaurants out there. Luma has potential, but overall it just didn't stand out for me. read more

Great new edition to the Sawgrass Grove Marketplace in The Villages. It's in the old Show Kitchen spot and is a FMK restaurant. It's a bowl/wrap concept with a Mediterranean twist. When i went, the line was about 30 people long, but it was opening day. It moved pretty fast. You have the option of a base - lentils, jasmine rice, romaine or power greens. Then you pick your protein - chicken shawarma, lamb gyro meat, another type of lamb or shrimp. You have the option of doing double meat or mixing proteins (I had shrimp and chicken). Once you do that, you pick your toppings and crunch - things like pickles onions, edamame, crispy chick peas, sunflower seeds, roasted beets, feta cheese, etc. They also have dips such as tzatziki and avocado hummus. Then you select your dressing. They also have 2 types of pita wraps - chicken shawarma and lamb gyro. If you get a drink - they give you the cup and you can refill at your leisure. I got a bowl the day I went and it was delicious. I had chicken and shrimp on mine, roasted beets, feta, avocado hummus, feta, pickled onions, crispy chick peas and Greek dressing. Sooooo good - I had to stop myself from going back the next day, but I will be back soon. The icing on the cake???? It's so affordable - Bowls are $8.95 and if you get shrimp, it's $9.95. There is plenty of seating inside the market area and you can also go outside for plenty of outdoor seating. Live music goes on at Sawgrass Grove every night from 5-9pm and there is a bar inside the marketplace and one outside. So grab a drink, a bowl and go out and listen to music while you eat. First visit today but certainly not the last! A lot of eateries in The Villages I call 'one and dones'. I ordered the gyro and I built a bowl. Out of the two, I would reorder the gyro; it was delicious! The bowl I would build with different choices next time, it was a bit too busy. Fast friendly service. This is my new favorite spot here in the villages. The food selection is fresh, vibrant and absolutely delicious! My go to has been the shrimp ... portion size is very generous... taste, delicious....the shrimps are big and juicy.... So far I have yet to be disappointed! The variety of add ins contribute to an outstanding meal. This is a new hidden gem found way back at sawgrass.....on the left before you get to the bathrooms. Glad to have come across this. We had the chicken Greek salad. It was awful. It is my Go-To meal when we dine out. The shawarma meat was very fatty thigh meat swimming in a sauce. Neither my husband nor I could eat the lunch. We threw it out. read more

Food was OK. The photos here on Yelp definitely do not look like what you get. The chicken was all cut up and chunks, not nicely sliced chicken breast, like in the photos. The bowl was not filled to the top like the photos either. Wish I had taken a photo. Like I said, it was OK-won't be running back to have it too soon. read more
