I have been taking online courses at Lumbleau since 2007. While their webpage may seem outdated their courses have always been great. What they lack in fancy web pages they give back to us in savings. I love their courses and the website is easy to navigate. I just took my courses for my broker's license. Personally, I'm glad they are still in business. This is my go to online real estate school. I also recommend Lumbleau to people looking for real estate online training. This is by far the worst real estate school. I failed my state exam because their State exam materials are out of date and misleading. I called the school several times to ask what I should focus on for the State exam and they said study the practice exams. Boy were they wrong. Nothing from what I learned from the school was on the State exam and I failed. Thanks for nothing. Waste of time, waste of money. read more

I really liked John Lumbleau's style. Yeah, okay, he isn't alive anymore. But that doesn't mean what he is saying doesn't still apply. I am a high school teacher and I can tell -- this man is passionate and thorough with what he is presenting. I pass my state exam on 8/30/16 on my first try. I love the feeling that I was learning from a great, successful person. DON'T skip the motivational parts... make sure you watch everything in entirety, and you'll pass -- and come out with an even better attitude about your future career than before. read more

I liked the Lumbleau real estate agent course I took 13 years ago, unfortunately I can't say the same for the Broker online courses. They promote a "Broker Exam Passing" package with 5 online courses and a general broker exam course. The name is deceptive. I bought the package, and took the first course on which consisted of Powerpoint slides, which contained few explanations. The materials were full of misspellings, and the sample forms were outdated with blanks filled in with handwriting (not typing as would be the practice today). I think John Lumbleau might have put the course together decades ago, perhaps as a lecture course, and since his death it has not been updated. While they do offer workbooks (at an additional cost), they don't tell you that you need these to pass the individual course exams, until after you have purchased the online courses. The woman who took my order for the course package never mentioned that the workbooks were needed. There were many questions on the exam not covered in the slide material. Had I not already been in the business for 13 years I would not have passed the exam only taking the online course. I don't believe that anyone could pass all the online courses without buying the workbooks. So, promoting "Broker Exam Passing" package without the workbooks is dishonest. Fortunately, the company was willing to refund all the money for the courses I didn't take. i'm going to another company for the remainder of my broker courses. read more

It is old style class but it is so helpful and motivating class.

I passed my exam on the first try. Lumbleu really drills the info into you. At the end you know the material. Initially I thought the videos were a bit corny and dated, after the first one I realized there is a method. All the videos motivate you, in addition to teaching. After watching each video, you take the quiz for that video. Each question is answered with the rationale of why that is the answer. You need to re-answer the question before the quiz review is finished. This reinforces the information. The practice tests are excellent. when you take a practice test, you have an option to re-take it, learning the answer's rationales and re-enforcing the information. I took quite a while to go through the course. I work full time, with a part time job, and family demands which leaves little time for anything else. I took the state test and I passed on the first time. I feel that I missed maybe 12 questions at most. The test is timed, answering 150 questions. Need 70% to pass. The exam center does not tell you your score if you pass, only that you passed. I thought about taking a weekend cram course a few weeks before the state exam. Decided against that as one probably gets information overload in the two day cram session. Took more practice tests and passed on the first effort. I highly recommend this way of learning. read more

I wanted to get my Real Estate License, but I learn best by seeing and hearing rather than studying text. This school is the only school I could find with an online video format... perfect for me. Yes, the presenter died a few years back, and some of the styles, and stories might seem a bit dated, but the program worked. I'm not a great exam taker, but I passed on my first try and was the second person finished and out of the room, they teach you what is needed to pass! I passed my broker exam so what else am I going to give other than a 5 star rating. I'll be honest though and say that I did have to take the test twice. The first time I missed it by one question and was extremely distraught, but I got over it and immediately scheduled a new test date and began studying all over again. Here's the real deal. Back in the day the test was administered on scantrons and you had to fill in the bubble with a #2 pencil. Nowadays the test is administered in a dark room at a computer table that can be best described as looking like a video poker machine at a bar. You cant have anything in your pockets or on your wrists. You have to turn your pockets inside out and they inspect your glasses to make sure they're not Google glasses. All you can have is your I.D and the mouse that is provided, that's it! There are no longer versions of the test, instead you are given 200 random questions from a pool of 5000 questions. 10% of the questions were verbatim from Lumbleau. 70% were familiar from Lumbleau and easily discernable, they were just worded a little differently, but still easy to figure out. 20% of the questions I had never seen before and were not present in the course materials. All in all the second test was much easier than the first test and again that's just luck of the draw. When using this course you need to memorize every single question in the course materials, practice exams and updated exams. You need to memorize them to the point of knowing the answer by hearing the first two words of the question. I also started reading the answers first and then determine which question was being asked. You need to memorize because you have no idea which questions you will get. Also, just memorize the questions, the videos are nostalgic and John Lumbleau has a way about him, but the videos don't really help neither do the PDFS, just memorize questions and answers. I am a commercial real estate agent and 95% of the question were geared towards residential. Obviously many facets of both residential and commercial cross paths, but the amount of commercial questions is very minimal. I had 30 appraisal questions and not one math problem. Here is something else that I learned by failing the first time. When the test is completed they hand you your results. If you passed the test they fold the results in two and tell you to look at your results in the hallway. If you fail they fold your results into an origami and staple all four corners together and tell you to open it in the parking lot as to avoid any confrontation. This is something I wouldn't have known if I didn't fail the first time. Best of luck! read more

The online course for the Broker exam is completely out of date. It actually does more harm than good to learn outdated and false information. Total waste of money. The tapes have not been updated and do not teach what is needed to pass the exam. I signed up and used it twice only to realize that the information is out of date. read more

Lumbleau Realestate school is a great school, reasonable and the staff is great, I'd highly recommend this school to get your license.

I ordered the online exam prep course for the broker's exam. Wow... the video content is clearly outdated its from 30-40 years ago! I honestly couldn't watch more then an hour of it was super annoying I couldn't stand the inflection and voice of the instructor. In turn I became frustrated and went to another course provider. At the very least a real estate school should be updating their content on a regular basis to keep up with the times. I wouldn't recommend them. read more

I have been a sales agent since 2003. I signed up for the broker exam study course on December 28 and passed in the first try on January 18! I read every lesson and did all the practice courses and I actually learned the material!! I work full time and studied every night for two hours for 20 days ! I would recommend Lumbleau to anyone that doesn't have time to go sit in a test taking class which only teaches you to pass the test as opposed to actually learning the material. I would not recommend Lumbleau Real Estate School at all! I bought the package for my broker courses. I did not purchase the books, but got the online courses. The online courses do not give you all the information you need to pass the test. Trust me you will need to search the internet a whole bunch to find answers that should have been given to you in the online course. The test asks you questions that were not even mentioned in the online course. When I purchased the courses, I was under the impression that the online courses without the books would be fine. NOPE! Lumbleau does not tell you that you really do need their books. I guess they want you to spend more money on their books in order to pass the courses. There are a lot of misspellings in the course materials and on the tests, that was very annoying! The videos that they give you are so OUTDATED and boring, you fall asleep just watching them. I would definitely not recommend them for your broker courses and probably not for your real estate license courses either, since I'm sure they follow the same format. I'm just saying...if you purchase a course that is suppose to help you pass a test, you should at least find the answers in the course materials!! read more
