I have no doubt that Brent, the manager, would have done a fine job - if he was doing the gardening. But that is where the complements end. His workers often didn't know what they were doing and the company was paid to clear my entire slope (they cleared half) but did not finish. Unfortunately for me, the did their work early in the morning, when I am not up, or maybe I could have worked more closely with the company's workers. Regardless, I sent pictures and detailed instructions (also including pictures) on exactly what I wanted done to my yard. Time after time for over one year, this company fell short of my expectations. I wish I could say better, but I just cannot. I asked for one bougainvillea to be cut more like a tree and I supplied pictures, but that didn't get done - at all. They didn't even try. Another bougainvillea needed to be pulled, something I asked to be done, but there just seems to be a disconnect between the manager and the employees, either in skill or communication.

As I had a leaking sprinkler system that was flooding our yard I thanked him for his prompt response and said I needed someone sooner and was about to go back to Yelp. He responded about 2 hours later saying he had a cancellation the next day, sent him photos of the leaking sprinkler assembly, he asked a few more questions and then gave me a price. He told me in advance that he could be a few minutes early or late but would keep me in the loop on his arrival time. Jose texted me in the morning, let me know his status and showed up on time. Not only did he fix the sprinkler assembly, he also adjusted the sprinkler heads on my lawn, installed caps on the wire connectors on our assembly and checked all zones to ensure they were working correctly and that there no leaks. You know that someone is a good person when they make you feel like you've been friends for a while or that they could be a neighbor just by how they speak and interact with you. One gentleman came, nice guy, however this is what the issue was: He walked around probably for 10 minutes, showed me a light (average you can get at Amazon) and quoted me $8000 for 23 standard lights and if I wanted color is was going to be $15000 After this he charged his $195. I mentioned if I was getting the quote in writing which I didn't get a clear answer and off he went. I called another company, charged me $3500 for 25 color lights (better lights) and extra transformer and app to turn them on from your phone. My point: if you call Valley Scape, make sure you get another 2 or 3 quotes from other providers because they are probably going to take you for a ride if you are not careful. $3500 versus $15000 is a big difference.
