I've been a customer at Lumos since they opened the first spot at the armory on Culver. I had recently returned from living in Europe and was looking for a way to fulfill my sauna-ing needs. As they have grown in popularity, and with the newer building at the armory always being busy, I decided to try out the Greece location. Both are equidistant from my home, and this location always has openings.
I love it here, and I'm not ashamed to say it. I have a 4 - 45-minute session/month plan and I love it. I really need to use it more because I get so caught up in my busy life that I forget I need to make this time for myself. BUT, thankfully, the plan I have allows me to hold on/roll over my old sessions that I haven't used, so when I have spring break or february break, I can make multiple trips to the sauna per week.
Honestly, I would like to have my own sauna in my house. I could probably save money long term. However, there is just something about going to the sauna studio, getting out of your house, and stepping into your own little suite for a little bit of self care. The cold towels (refreshing) and the chromotherapy (sets a mood and helps specific ailments) plus the red-light tower (powerful and restorative), make it worth going out to sauna.
I've never done contrast therapy here, but I know it's amazing. When ever I go to a spa village the ability to cold plunge is rejuvenating, but for my regular weekly needs I just need a good sauna.
