The Bard Chard and Blush Rose are a good start, but if it's the reds you crave, you'll crave all of their reds. Katrina and Scott are always helpful and fun to talk to, and very knowledgeable. It's so hard to choose from the different combinations of clones, all estate grown, so we are always tempted to buy one of each. The prices for the wines (deserving of Oregon Winery of the year in 2020) are outrageously affordable, currently $40/bottle for the estate's best. With it's unique micro-climate, the vineyard overlooks Marys Peak adding to the ambience of the tasting room and deck. Our dogs have always been welcome!. Summer music on Friday nights adds to the experience which is always laid back and chill. It's 15-20 minutes to Corvallis which is great for us since our son is at OSU. We love that they are a Harvest Host location. When we got there, we went into the tasting room and they directed us the best place to park. After we got set up, we got a couple bottles of wine, brought some snacks from our rig and played bocci ball on the court they have, then just sat back and relaxed on the patio. There are small handful of Urban Wineries in Philomath. Compton Family WInes has a nice elegant tasting room. There are board games, cards and a few other stimulating distractions to keep the young ones occupied. At the time of our visit, the tasting menu had seven options for us to enjoy. I found the wines here to be very good, with very reasonable prices. I still can't believe the tasting fee was only $7. The staff is was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ended picking up a couple of bottles... Love the Sea 02 label. Artistic, creative and eye catching...and the Rose was nice and refreshing as well. They boxed them up and we headed back to WA. Once we got home the bottles that were placed in the box were not the same YEAR bottles that we tasted at the Pheasant Court Wine Tasting Bar.... Everyone of the bottle we opened were bad... They ripped us off. We would never go back there again and I should have written this review a long time ago. It was very disappointing. They ripped us off but in the end they lose.

The grounds of the property are open for guests to explore, which makes it the perfect option for wine tasting during the covid-era. They have orchards, vineyards, benches and picnic tables, all spread out throughout the property. It's a great place to wander while sipping through your wine flight, whether you come during covid or not. This winery has done a good job following precautions during this season, so I wouldn't hesitate to come in. They are using plastic cups for tastings for the time being, and as mentioned, everything is outdoors and very distanced. I personally really enjoy their Gewurztraminer, and they have a couple of good Pinots as well as some other whites. Bottles are pretty affordable and staff is friendly--they even have a staff dog who of course, loves to receive pets. If you need a quick and easy getaway, this is your place!

Their event was made extra special by the staff, as they were all knowledgeable and well-versed in the food and wine pairings that were offered at this event. I was particularly impressed as to how they were keeping the bottles of white wine cold by using ice that they had frozen flowers in. It was a beautiful presentation. There was a brick oven pizza set up and the pizzas were delicious. I am not sure if they are there all the time or because this was a special event. The wines are on point with each presentation and the outside area is spectacular. The inside area can hold a lot of people, especially on rainy days and very nicely decorated with lots of large windows. I can hardly wait to go back there again when all of the roses around the outside patio area are in Bloom! I will be bringing my small senior dog next time I visit their winery as they are dog friendly.
