On a record-breaking hot 95-degree day, they had no AC or fans going inside. On the outside terrace, everyone is smoking so you can't sit out there if you want to breathe. They keep the door open so the smoke wafts inside too. I ordered a Greek salad, and asked for no oil or cheese but the menu specifically says grape leaves, green pepper and olives are included. I received just lettuce, cucumbers and red onion doused in oil. I sent it back, they were very nice to exchange it quickly and remove the oil as I had originally asked, but when I asked the waiter where are the grape leaves, he said they don't put them in the salad. So I feel that is false advertising. Nor were there any olives or green pepper in there. What kind of Greek salad doesn't have olives? So I spent about $14 for some lettuce, tomato (which they added the second time) cucumber and onion. I was very disappointed. My friend had a Garden Salad with chicken, that was better, it had lettuce, tomato, red peppers and olives in it that I could see. She liked it. The waiters were very nice and accommodating but more than one person comes to the table, so it becomes confusing, and they are rather slow and sometimes have to be flagged down even though it's not crowded. They do have an excellent location for visiting this area but I would not go out of my way to come here. read more

Terrible service and terrible food. Waitress and waiter were unfriendly and impolite. I've eaten better cannolis from the grocery store. Shell was soft and stale, not crisp and fresh. The drinks we ordered were terrible. Mint mocha had no hint of mint at all and too much cocoa powder. The Nina Kiwi drink which is supposed to have kiwi, cherries, banana, and almond milk was awful. Had a chlorine-like taste, and not fruity at all. So sad that we wanted to experience some great food and atmosphere on Arthur Ave., but got this instead. read more

The food here is a 2/5. The food was overly salty and not eatable. The only thing I ate was the penne which was simply possible because I ate with the bread to compensate for how salty it was. The service was horrendous, completely. Lack of waiter attention, having to ask for help from different waiters multiple times because my main was nowhere to be found, just horrible, water refills taking 10 years, etc. I would not come back here under any circumstance. Luna Cafe makes you feel like you're genuinely in Europe ambiance wise. Their cappuccinos are lovely, and the desserts are tasty as well! Love coming here for a coffee break. Not sure how their meals are but probably good too :) read more

The cappuccino was excellent, top notch. Their Luna Special Pizza for $18.95 was not large and the meat toppings were very salty and overcooked with very little cheese and the crust was thin, which I have no problem within terms of thin crust pizza, but I would say that the flour they use is low quality, because their pizza crust had a consistency of cardboard, and I was very displeased. The wait staff was great, no problems! The most unsettling part about this restaurant is that they have an American Flag above the restaurant and it looks like the flagpole broke, and it's hanging upside down, wrangled up, torn and tattered and discolored, and an embarrassment. They really should fix that as soon as possible. I can't believe that any American would feel good about going to this restaurant with this in mind, and I definitely won't be back there, if they don't fix the flag problem, which tells me that they really don't care about this country. To be fair, the Albanian Flag flying above the American Flag isn't in respectable shape either. read more

I know the reviews are from 1 star to 5 we are all unique and each have our own opinions burn that's why I'm yelping.! . This place has its ups and downs I been going to Luna since it opened. 5 stars always on the food and desserts. Know the staff is amazing. Yes, if you go on a night that's it's busy you have to wait a few minutes extra but isn't that everywhere? I've gone to Luna on weekdays and weekends and it can be very busy but the staff always does their best. Luna has a unique look to it I love all the flowers and especially around the holidays it looks very cute. I most favorite memory of Luna is the summer I nights. Especially last night I had a meal with my family I remember laughing so hard and having a wonderful time the food is always made with love. read more

Not sure how or why this place has low ratings but I had a great time here with friends. The food was actually delicious I got the chicken parm, my friends got the penne a la vodka. It was really good. The hookah was sensational, this hookah was better than most lounges I've been too surprising considering this isn't a spot advertised as a hookah lounge. Our waitress was so nice and the set idea was great. The only thing that could make this place better was if they served alcohol. So I didn't eat at Luna Cafe, but I came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend, and we sat outside & smoked hookah. We saw some guy smoking and decided why the eff not! This was GOOD hookah, and for whatever reason, recently, I've been getting garbage hookah at these random spots that I've go to. Our hookah was strong, and lasted us over an hour with out needing to change the coals once, and even at that point we could've continued blowing 0's, but our parking was about to expire--- so we had to leave. They designate one side to where you can smoke, but you can also order food/drinks in that section as well. I'll definitely be back for the hookah & maybe next time I'll dip my little paws into a slice of cake too! read more

It's very hard for me to leave this 1-star review for the cafe, but it needs to be said so others would know what they're getting into.. I've been going here for over 2 years with friends and the food has been great and servers very professional. However, I recently had a terrible experience with the owner/manager of the place whom I've never previously met, after which I will no longer step foot in the place. My friend and I visited few days ago where we ordered a hookah and I ordered a dessert on the side. The server we had was very polite and brought our orders. He took awhile to come back with the receipt so I went inside to pay. He processed the payment but never gave me my receipt. I didn't make much of it until later that evening when I realized we paid an awful lot for just hookah and a dessert. I called the next day and the manager picked up, asking me for the receipt but after I explained him the situation and asked what the price of the hookah was, and why we ended up paying $46 for just hookah and a piece of dessert, he was very rude and said I needed to come in to show him the server. I went in 2 days later after work and found that nice waiter who recognized me. He explained everything clearly and said there were extra charges for additional waters (I had completely forgotten about those) and the full amount was such and such..I admitted I'd forgotten about the few waters we ordered and thanked him. We had a pleasant conversation, he printed out the receipt and handed to me and I was about to walk away. Apparently that garbage of a manager was creepily hearing in on the whole conversation, but I wasn't aware since I never saw him before. Suddenly he interjects and starts yelling: "excuse me you're the one who called me the other day about the hookah, why are you lying and saying you only got hookah when you got dessert too? You said you had no drinks just hookah and nothing else, you lying!" I and the waiter were looking at him like he's crazy. I told him I asked for the price of the hookah over the phone but he never gave it to me and asked me to come in to ID the waiter. But he kept running with it...he insisted that I'm lying and kept repeating himself. What's worse is his shameless unprofessionalism... he's screaming and accusing a customer for lying when there are other customers around looking at him...he looked like a crazy man,, arguing over nothing...he was humiliating himself even though the small situation was already fully resolved by myself and the waiter. Clearly he was after an ego trip and not for professionalism or decent hospitality. He then stampedes out the door to talk to someone sitting in the outdoor patio and shuts the door behind him, I open it to leave and turn around and tell him point blank: "your behavior was very disrespectful...where I come from, accusing customers for lying and disrespecting them is completely unacceptable. Your server did a very professional job and didn't give us any issues,, and you get in the convo and act so rudely.. I've been coming here for years with friends and we will never come back here again." As I'm walking out he goes,"thank you, thank you." Fair warning guys...the food is good, the servers are nice (although not always timely), but clearly the manager/owner is mentally unwell. My heart aches for any of his employees who have to work under his wrath. There are far too many good eateries in NYC without the negative drama, so I wouldn't waste another minute here, especially if you want to come in with your loved ones and leave on a positive vibe. read more

I actually really liked this place. We got the mixed combo which was a bunch of types of Albanian sausages. It came with bread and a cabbage salad. The service was a little slow, but it was a beautiful day and we didn't have anywhere to be so we enjoyed sitting on the pretty patio and people watching. read more

I had a chicken sandwich and an Iced Latte, and when I got home (3 or 4 hours later) I had realized that I got terrible food poisoning from this place. All I wanted was for her to just acknowledge what I was saying, I told her I was not calling to argue with her but she continued to get very defensive and accusing me of being aggressive. I told her "all I want is maybe an apology and to just listen to what I'm saying" I received a very forced "i'm sorry you are sick" apology followed by a comment about how "I might be coming down with something". After holding in the feeling of having to throw up all day that night at 2am I threw up the sandwich I and instantly felt a lot better. So you decide if it was the food or I if I was "coming go down with something" Never as a customer have I been treated with such utter disregard and disrespect by anyone.
