We never found Lunkers Grill. The phone rang indefinitely every time I tried to call it. Lunkers Grill was not where the directions took me.

Worst place ever! Fried pickles came out in two huge clumps. Paloma was garbage nothing but soda water. Steak came with mashed potatoes which were still cold from refrigerator, steak also garbage piece of meat and too salty. Never got fried okra. Asked for water multiple times finally had to go to bar and beg for glass. Waitress said they wouldn't give us a discount but gave us a 20% coupon to come back...umm no thank you!!! Worst place EVER!!! I wouldn't have given them 1 star if it had been a choice. read more

A group of my friends and I decided to stop by here for dinner , and because it was about an hour before close we sat down and ordered right away! Even though we were trying to be kind we were treated with horrible service! The waitress never informed us that they were out of queso until we were brought our food. And instead of having customer service she said "oh they were out." Even though we were the only table in the entire bar and restaurant it took our food about 45 mins to come out. The only other time the waitress came to our table besides throwing food on there, was to ask us to tab out early. Never once were we checked on and yet still begged for a tip in cash or card at the end of the night. Sadly this wasn't the best experience for me and my friend group. read more

It's Mother's Day and having a late lunch. Arrived at 3:15pm was told to move to move to another table from the section cause they were closing it and AC was not on so was warm in the restaurant. Moved to another table waited for waitress which took a bit to get our drink order. Then took our order which was the old reliable and two grilled chicken salads. All ready going to about 50 minutes and still no food. Bad service we paid for the drinks cancelled the order. Everyone who got there after us was getting their food before us. Seemed to be an indication the waitress forgot to put in our order. We should not had paid for the drinks since they couldn't get our food in timely manner. Food was delicious. The Diablo shrimp we chose to each add one on for $2.50/ each. It was the star of the night. Spicy and delicious the best type of shrimp I've had in a long time. The chicken fried chicken was very moist and a good size. Salad was fresh. Baked potato was cooked just right not over or under cooked. My mother had the smothered patty. She loved it, however she did feel that it had a little too much sauce on it for her tastes. She said the green beans were amazing. She didn't eat the mashed potato's as my niece decided they were hers. My niece ate one bite of the sliders but decided she wasn't in the mood for a burger so not sure on those. Sweet tea wasn't overly sweet and the tea itself tasted good. The service was slightly underwhelming although I assume that's due to COVID precautions. I didn't like the fact that my drink sat empty for over 10 minutes with the restaurant not busy. Waitress was nice however and got our orders and drinks correct. Bathroom was easy to access and clean although one of the stalls doesn't latch correctly. read more

Ordered sliders, they were burnt so they brought new ones. Greasy and still burnt. Inattentive bartender and there's literally 5 people sitting at the bar. Best part of the meal were the beers, surely they couldn't mess those up . I'll probably give it another try. read more

Almost didn't come because of a previous bad review but so glad we came. Supposedly a new location and the atmosphere is cute and sophisticated. We ordered the 2 meals for $26. It was all amazing- one of my best local meals out. The salads were generous to start, the blue cheese dressing home made and on spot and we chose the buffalo chicken sand-which and chicken melt sand-which with steak fries. Both sandwhiches were juicy and extremely tasty. Left with a big box of leftovers. Will be back to try the dinner menu.All the staff and service was great even at Rush hour. Friends and I decided to go here for dinner after a long day of hiking.. boy was this a mistake! Service was absolutely terrible. Our server didn't check on us one time. Was missing some sides and music was way to loud (Tuesday Night btw). Food took any hour to come out, server forgot our appetizers. Truly a horrific restaurant. I travel to Uvalde about 2/3 times a month and this along with Oasis restaurant are probably the two better restaurants in town for good consistent quality food. The food is always good. My go to is the chicken fried steak here. Always good with mashed potatoes and green beans. Service by the waitress' are always great and they always have a smile on their face! Food was good and the service was great but nothing kills the good vibe of a restaurant like bugs. There were flies and gnats all around. The place was clean except for that. We got the fried pickles as a starter, which were good but just needed some seasoning in the batter. Other than that, they were very crunchy and not bready at all. For entrees, my wife got the tilapia and I got the All-American burger. Both portions were HUGE but the burger patties could have used some seasoning. All you could taste really was the cheese and some salt would be nice to cut that richness. The fries with the burger were very nice and crunchy and were seasoned well. My wife said the season and cook on the fish was perfect. They've remodeled and opened the place up, which is good but just need to getting rid of the crane game machine and upgrading the booths will do them a world of good. The seats are all torn up and held together with black duct tape. The atmosphere of the place is great and to be honest, if they had 3 or 4 big flat screens in there, they'd be the best sports bar/grill this town has seen. So glad my husband and I stopped here for lunch! I got the chicken fried chicken plate and and my husband got the chicken fried steak. Everything was delicious!! It being Lent, and all, my coworkers decided to order catfish plates for lunch today. I went with the club sandwich since my religion doesn't impose a whole bunch of weird dietary rules or require that I give anything up (yeah Baptists!!). The coworkers tell me the fish and fries were really good. My club was delicious. And I really like the fries. So why only 3 stars?? Are people required to ask for ketchup when they place an order? One would think that when people order something that comes w/ french fries the restaurant would naturally include a couple of squeeze packets in the box. Recommended by a friend so I tried it for dinner. Had an 8 oz. sirloin with green beans and a baked potato. A nice dinner salad started things off. Service was fast and friendly. Meal came out very fresh and hot. The sirloin was mesquite grilled as I ordered it. No need for steak sauce either as it was very moist and tasty. All for $12.99! Not impressed at all! Couldn't tell if the steak was any good because it was so salty I couldn't even eat half of it. The baked potato was over cooked and the beans I didn't even touch because they didn't look appetizing at all. Service was sub par. Drinks were brought out right away and order taken fast. Horrible, nasty, bad food. You would think a Texan could make a steak. They are Texans after all and the bovines reside here. One would assume a Texan could prepare one. They can not do anything right at this eatery ( nor any other dining establishment in Texas). I was told that a steak can not be ordered "Blue". It could not be ordered very rare. Rare was the best they could offer, and I recieved it medium. As they posess no anti microwave, it could not be sent back to have it's former glory restored. I then asked for a new steak to be prepared more to my fancy. They were most happy to do so, as long as I purchaced another one. This was unacceptable as I am a frugal man. If I wish to consume one steak, then I shall only buy one steak. There is but one choice of steak sauce, a brand I had never heard of, and not very good. I have no memory of the salad or side dishes, as the steak itself has consumed my memory. I do recall the lousy matches in the ashtray would not light unless prompted with an open flame. My dining companion ordered a Chipolte burger of some sort that was $2.00 more than the regular burger. The only evidence of chipolte was a dab of ill flavored mayonaise in the center of the overcooked heifer. The burger was returned swiftly to the kitchen due to lack of $2.00 worth of flavor whereupon the owner rather loudly exclaimed "Who cares, HE ordered it! If you are visiting Uvalde, or Texas for that matter (Bring Oscar Meyer), you will find every restaurant will disappoint. This is one of the worst.. read more

Lunkers is hit or miss, depending on the guy at the grill cooking the steaks. I've had great meals here and as Bob W alluded to - bad meals too. The sirloin or the new york are two cuts they tend to do well, as are the grilled chicken burgers and the catfish. Stay away from the rib eye and the regular burgers as they always seem to make a mess of them. If you're looking for a decent place, with pretty good service then Lunkers is probably as good as it gets in Uvalde. And it's sad that I can only give them two stars. However - if you're looking for a place to drink a beer (you need a membership to do that by the way) shoot some pool, have an average meal at inflated prices, and hang with the crowd, then Lunkers may be the place for you. I am upset on how long I had to wait I had to cancel my order because I was so upset that I was waiting 46 min for a medium rare steak. A medium rare steak does not take 46 minutes to cook the two people with me finished their food by the time they finished their food. It was a 10 oz steak not that big of a steak I cooked bigger and got it out faster than this service. Warning!!! I ordered a chicken fried steak from their 2 for 22 menu (used to be 2 for 15, they they keep jacking up the prices) and when I bit into my steak, the meat was rancid and had a distinct sour taste to it. I called the waitress over and told her to take the food away and explained my dissatisfaction with the plate. She asked if I wanted something else from the menu and a laughed and said there's no way I'm eating anything that comes out of that kitchen. I also told her I wasn't paying for that plate. I've eaten there from time to time but not often and that restaurant seems to have a problem with food freshness. That will be that last time I eat there and I warn all my friends about their food. And anyone posting positive reviews about this restaurant is obviously a family member or an employee. Best advise I can give is beware. Anyone serving rancid meat cares more about profits than your health. Again.... BEWARE!!!!!!! read more
