This place was great casual eatery with lots of seating. The service was great! Our server was very attentive and checked on us often. The portions were huge and everything was delicious. The breading on my chicken was very crispy. Also on the okra. The ribs were also falling off the bone delicious. One note, the sweet tea is really sweet so maybe get half unsweet to mix. I had the three meat plate. Brisket, Sausage, and smoked pork. The brisket and sausage was good, but not great. I would have ordered the moist brisket, but they had a $2 up charge. Drove in from San Antonio and after handling some business we were hungry. Looked at several Yelp reviewed restaurants in the area we chose Oasis Outback because of the high ratings for the salad bar. We started with the soups. I had the chicken pot pie soup and my companion had the chicken noodle. They were both very good accompanied by the fresh, hot garlic breadsticks. My next plate was the pasta, potato, fruit, tuna and 2 chicken salads. I had a small portion of each and the tuna salad was surprisingly delicious. The others were good except for the chicken salad w/cranberries and pecans because it was too sweet for my liking. I then made a traditional salad. The produce was super fresh, the proteins were delicious and the ranch is HOMEMADE. The selection on the bar was amazing! So many options. Best salad I've had in a while, maybe ever. I do not recommend the sweet potato fries. The first order came out soggy and very cold. The second was better but still not good. Lastly, the service was good and friendly. The restaurant is located inside the store. The service is friendly and the place is spacious, so I've never encountered a "wait". I usually get the salad bar. The ingredients are replenished regularly and everything is always fresh. They have a good array of dressings and other additional salads like seafood, potato, chicken, etc... the seafood salad is really good and fresh made. Unfortunately the couple of times I've gone the soup is always low and not replenished or picked over with only mashed up bits left. The prices are adequate for what you get. Very causal environment. No big frills or fancy feasting, just good food in a friendly setting. The store itself has a wide variety of items, including a gun shop. It is fairly expensive, but they sell quality goods. They have many women's accessories and clothes as well as a large variety for kids and mens. Stop in if you're in the area it is worth checking out. read more

I have been to Oasis many times and most of the time gravitate toward their fantastic salad bar . This is undoubtedly one of the best, most extensive salad bars around! Everything is very fresh and the salad bar is always kept clean and items refilled continuously. They also have great BBQ items and the brisket is always a winner! Moist and tender every time I have ordered it(have to include a side trip to the salad bar!). Chicken fried steak and fried fish are also great choices. Great food for a great price! read more

I travel to Uvalde twice a month for about 3-5 days and this is my go to place. Service is always good and very prompt. I have tried the catfish, steak, salad bar and grilled pork chops. By far my favorite is the pork chops. Grilled to perfection, juicy and never dry and have a really good grilled taste to them. As one yelper said, the macaroni and cheese is always good as well and so are their green beans. While in Uvalde this is my favorite place to dine. My only issue is they are usually only open for lunch. This place would be great for dinner if it stayed opened for dinner. read more

A friend and I were geocaching in the area and decided to stop here for lunch. As I had read many favorable reviews on the salad bar, that's what we decided to get along with a baked potato. Even though the restaurant was crowded, we were seated almost immediately. The salad bar did live up to its name. My only complaint would be the use of only iceberg lettuce; that being said, it was fresh and tender. Other salad ingredients were plentiful and fresh; the bar was kept very clean and ingredients replenished regularly. But the best salads were of the non-lettuce kind--potato, chicken, ham, tuna and I can't remember the rest. They were excellent and definitely made at the restaurant. The soups, however, did disappoint but not enough to deduct a star. The baked potato was large, perfectly cooked and there were plenty of toppings at the salad bar. I have to say I wish I had discovered this place sooner. Stayed in Uvalde for 9 days. Only have the chance to eat here twice. I would have eaten here nearly everyday had I known sooner. People come for the meats but stay fur the salad bar. The choices are plenty on the menu and even more so at the salad bar. Smoked meats are their specialty (not slighting the salad bar at all). What I've had was delicious. Smoked brisket and pork loin. Also had the chicken fried steak which was cooked perfectly and really tasty and not overly greasy as some can be. The salad bar is it's own dining experience. You can add salad bar to your meal for $4, but it's a meal in itself. People in the area clamor about it. It's clean, very fresh, wide variety of vegetables and toppings, dressings and extras. A nice simple selection of deserts can be had if you have the room. Ice cream and pies. Their meats are available by the pound to go as well. Just in case you think you can cook it better than they do. Good luck with that. If I'm in Uvalde again, I'll be stopping here at least twice even if I'm here just one day. read more

My favorite place to stop on our drive to and from Del Rio to San Antonio, Texas is the Oasis. The salad bar is the best! We love it because it also includes delicious soup. The varieties are always so tasty. Another thing I like is that while my husband goes to the sporting goods area to browse, I get to look at their gift and women's clothing area. As with every other restaurant in Uvalde, consistency is an issue. I have eaten here when it was ok and again when it was awful. Today was awful. Ordered the brisket plate (7.99$) and got 1 tiny piece that was edible. The larger piece was 90% fat and gristle. 3 small bites of meat only. Why serve a piece like that? My husband and I got the salad bar and all we could eat ribs. Their mac And cheese have to be some of the best either of us have ever had! Their ribs were obviously hand done, but not very "fall off the bone" or flavorful. Their bbq sauce wasn't bad though.
