    Restaurant atmosphere is great

Had an amazing lunch today. Shrimp Murphy not listed on the menu but INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend. My dad had a meat Stromboli that he loved. We drank tea that was fresh and exactly what we wanted.

We visited Uvalde in April for the total solar eclipse. The restaurant was not full on a Monday night. We were hungry, got seated right away, and they served us quite fast. While waiting, we got comped very tasty garlic knots. The soup of the day was Florentine and delicious. All main courses (Chicken Marsala, Chicken with Artichoke Hearts, and Baked Tuscany) were solid Italian dishes with great sauces. Followed by great desserts: limoncello mascarpone, chocolate dipped cannoli, and Italian cream cake. The cream on the Italian cream cake was a bit too sweet. The service was good and attentive.

Customer service was amazing. The young man who waited on me was extremely attentive. He introduced me to the chef who was willing to make food recommendations based on what I was in the mood for. It has a very family oriented feel, which I enjoyed. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and it was delicious.

No. Did I know there was a Castroville-favorite restaurant there as well? Also no. We had to try it. Located inside the Alsatian Golf Club's clubhouse is their 19th-hole restaurant and bar: Julianna's Restaurant. Upon entry, you realize the place has been around for some time. It feels very classic San Antonio, with wooden walls accented by tan and white bricks. The restaurant's aged interior gives it a cozy, lodge-like charm. Though the restaurant was pretty busy on a Saturday night, we were seated instantly at a booth that gave me a perfect view of the Georgia-Alabama game on the bar's TV. After nine or eighteen holes, you never know what you're in the mood for. That's why Julianna's has plenty of options: sandwiches, pizzas, pasta, seafood, steaks, and other meat dishes. Our server came by very quickly and got us our drinks, which for me was a tall Saint Arnold Oktoberfest. I had a tough time deciding between two options: a bone-in pork chop or their creamy Cajun pasta. I opted for the bone-in pork chop with a Caesar salad, bacon green beans, and herb rice. My dad got the creamy Cajun pasta, and my mom got the Southwest chicken. It wasn't long until the Caesar salad came out, with huge croutons and a generous helping of dressing. It was excellent to the point my mom wished she had ordered it over her chicken tortilla soup, which she also enjoyed. If you ever order a meat entrée and they stick a steak knife in it, you're in for an ESPN Instant Classic. The pork chop was huge, topped with a house raspberry chipotle sauce. It was tender and cooked well. I'll admit, trying to find the bone versus the pork was a challenge, but I think that was a me issue. I would order it again. As for the sides, the bacon green beans were sneakily running for Sixth Man of the Year, and the herb rice paired with the pork chop quite well. I would go back. The meal was high quality and felt like a hidden gem even for longtime Castroville residents. What a treat. RIYL: Going to golf courses while being very bad at golf.

The salad was good. The pork chop was large and it was chewy and not tender. The beans were decent and the fries were meh.

"Cute, nice, fun- it was very good Italian country food and I thought it was great." - my wife…read more I would be forced to agree with the opinion stated above Alla Campagna, or Italian for "to the countryside" was a delightful wine bar bistro. The ambience was tasteful and approachable like if somebody's grandmother ran a delightful restaurant that you'd actually want to visit. The service was trying their best Seemed pretty understaffed, but everything was fast and they were quite courteous. We had the focaccia which was stupendous, came with some wonderful dipping options after a glass of local red and a sparkling water we were served our main course, the wild boar Ragu what can I say about this? The homemade noodles were a true delight sauce was perfect and light in the bore... Oh, the bore. The tender amazing bore took me to flavor heaven I couldn't get enough. And of course, we saved a slice of focaccia to wipe everything up at the end. If you come across a bad review, you will probably see that it is a somewhat uneducated tasteless patron that's probably just twisted up about it being " too expensive " or that the " service was slow " so dear reader rest assured this is not your friendly neighborhood chilies this is something much much better.

We arrived at 6 to a little populated dining room. We were sat next to the window with the sun shining directly in our faces. The did close the curtains fryer I moved my chair to the side of the two top which was nice. We ordered the Insalata Alla Campana which had zero flavor. We asked if the could split and we were told the kitchen doesn't split plates. I would not recommend! We then ordered the roasted garlic and ricotta cheese meatballs and the Tuscan bean soup. If you go order two bowls of the Tuscan bean soup because it is amazing!1 I forgot our drinks. Hubs ordered the Fortunate Verde which was $17 dollars and very much over priced and a glass of the Rose which was mediocre at best. Our total bill was $80 before tip for appetizers and two drinks. This was a swing and a miss for us.
