Went to Lupe's Cocina on a Thursday morning and we were the first ones there,no wait at all. The staff was super friendly and checked in on us throughout our visit, even though we stayed a couple of hours catching up. Definitely appreciated the great customer service. As for the food, I don't mind paying a bit more for something that feels worth it, but the dishes we tried didn't really stand out. I had the chile relleno omelette and my friend got the steak and eggs plate. Both were okay, nothing bad, just kind of basic. I was hoping for a little more flavor or something that stood out. Had reservations. Restaurant wasn't busy but had many dirty tables. They seemed short staffed but it was 4:30 which is usually between shifts. My mango margarita sucked! It was $7 on happy hour but tested like nothing. I ordered the colada after that & it was good. The chicken Tinga taquitos were good. Not sure if they're worth the $9 price on happy hour though. The free black beans along with the chips are a nice touch. They were delicious! The ahi tostadas were good & a great price on happy hour. What a hidden gem! We came here for a casual last minute date night. This spot was open and inviting. Many menu options caught my attention. I went with rellenos de marisco, which had chile relleno stuffed with lobster shrimp, sauce, and white rice. Totally up my alley and it was delicious! The shrimp was fresh and juicy. I ordered the taqueria but they didn't have the carne asada so I went with two carnitas which was really good!. The other two were chicken which were ok. Was looking for Mexican food locally that had great ratings and in our area. Came across Lupe's Cocina on Google. For some reason they are not rated on trip advisor yet. Had the most incredible lunch. True culinary artistry and cuisine. If Im being honest the prices were a bit more. All I can say was the food we had was well worth it! Every flavor was so unique in it's own way. So, so delicious. We had the lobster taco plate and the Chile relleno with a special request of replacing chicken with Carnitas. What a treat this lunch was. The restaurant itself was super open, good lighting, alot of natural light. Really gorgeous wall murals, nice bar, lots of tvs and so clean. Bright and spotless. This is my 2nd time coming here. First time was back around the time they first opened. Since than, they have added other items including a brunch menu which is available everyday til 2pm. I got me from their brunch menu the Lupe Omlette with a side of potatoes. Omg, the best omlette ive had and im really particular when it comes to certain foods including an Omlette. Burrito size omlette which inside has chorizo, sundried tomatoes, cheese, aioli sauce, and onions. Cooked perfectly! Nice plate presentation and the decor in the dinning area is nice and very clean. I was sold on the Margarita flight with 4 samples of watermelon, tamarind, cucumber, and blue coconut ... all super tasty. We were immediately greeted with warm chips along with salsa and beans ... which were readily replenished without even asking. First time eating at Lupes. We found this place on Google. When we arrived the waiter told us they just opened 11 months ago. Our waiter Edgar was very pleasant and checked on us quite often. For the appetizer we ordered the Ribeye skewers and it was delicious, served on a pineapple with chimichuri sauce. I ordered the chicken mole. The mole sauce was the best I ever tasted. The chicken was a little dry but overall a great dish. My boyfriend had the Fish tacos and said they were pretty good. Overall, a great place to eat. We came again & we made it a point to visit here again & consistency is key! We stayed for several hours & talked & got through 3 baskets of chips, mixed cevice, a margarita flight each and a full sized blue margaritas each. Our seever was incredibly attentive. Hubby said when he walked into the restaurant, people looked him up and down like he didn't belong there. He said it was fancy in there and people dressed in suits. For an upscale restaurant, I expected more from them. We ordered two chicken pozole soups for takeout. They are pricey but we saw the raving reviews so we didn't mind paying if it was going to be worth it. When we got home to open up the food, we noticed we only got one salsa and one side of beans when we ordered two meals. The pozole was in a small container that barely had any broth in it so all we had was hominy and a few pieces of chicken breasts that was dry and overcooked. We've had tastier pozole where you get bigger portions for less price. The only thing that tasted good was their fresh chips and the red salsa. Saw many great reviews for Lupe's Cocina & Cantina and decided to check it out for dinner. The whole evening was great! We started with the pulpo a la parrilla. Super delicious and unique. We also got some cocktails. I tried the hibiscus (or jamaica in Spanish) margarita. Very tasty and well balanced. The hubs got a house margarita and also enjoyed it. They have a dedicated kids menu which is much appreciated. Kids got a salmon plate and a quesadilla plate, and both were enjoyed, especially the salmon. I got myself the taco and enchilada plate which comes with a NY steak taco and a tinga mole enchilada. The mole was very authentic and flavorsome. And the taco hit the spot. Hubs got their relleno de mariscos which comes with lobster and shrimp in a pasilla chile - he definitely enjoyed it. I also liked how their rice was plated and how it had a little garlic clove inside, which enhanced the flavor. I really commend their creative and unique menu, both for food and drinks. During my drive home, I wanted a shrimp cocktail and searched for the closest Mexican restaurant in town. Lupes was the first one to come up, so we gave it a try. The place was impressive from the moment we walked in. The experience was comparable to entering a top-notch five-star restaurant in Beverly Hills! The environment was pleasant. The music was playing and our server quickly welcomed us and led us to our table. Not even seconds later, we had fresh chips, salsa, and the most delicious beans. To start off with, I ordered a Bloody Mary and omg, it was perfectly made! Hats off to the bartender! Not many people know how to make one since it's not a Bloody Mary. For our meals, we enjoyed shrimp ceviche, pork belly bites, and Pulpo Ala Parrila. Each and every bite was exquisite, delicious, and mouth-watering! The amazingness of everything is beyond words. I neglected to take pictures of our food because it was so delicious! But I did take a picture of our dessert given to us on the house! Which it was a lovely surprise and super delicious! The chef came out to introduce himself and chat with us for a bit, making us feel very special. Our waiter Abraham was also super sweet and did an amazing job with customer service. We were in the mood for Mexican food and finally decided to try Lupe's Cocina. The bring out complimentary tortilla chips with black beans and salsa. The chips were freshly made and so good with the beans and salsa. And if you run out, they'll bring more! I wasn't too hungry that night, so I decided to get the octopus appetizer which is called Pulpo ala Parrila. It's a grilled charred Spanish octopus and comes with Bilbao chorizo, cherry tomatoes, arugula, cotija cheese, and a herb lemon olive oil dressing. The octopus was delicious and went so well with the chorizo. I didn't care for the arugula salad and dressing though. I felt it didn't compliment the octopus. But I found out before leaving that you can ask for a romaine salad with cilantro dressing. I'll definitely do that next time. My husband had La Tampiqueña plate which comes with a grilled ribeye, a mole cheese enchilada, grilled onions, guacamole, sour cream, Bilbao chorizo, and refried beans. He doesn't like guac or sour cream, so he didn't get it on his plate. He loved everything he got and said he never had a mole enchilada like this before. It was a little sweet, smoky, and he really enjoyed it. I tried it and didn't care for the flavor. I've always had mole that is savory, so it wasn't my cup of tea. My son had the Pescado Zarandeado which is a grilled sea bass with adobo miranade, guacamole, and pickled onions. He didn't want the guac or onions, so didn't get them. It also comes with black beans and rice and it was plated on a cutting board. He said the fish was delicious. The waiter often came to check on us and was friendly. The restaurant looks so beautiful compared to the other restaurant that used to be there. It looks sophisticated with beautiful paintings on the walls, very aesthetic. Dropped in for a first time here. Lupe's is a restaurant in a shopping center in Corona. Very clear and friendly place. Bar has two TVs and a third on the side for sports. Restaurant looks nice. It's new and has been open 4 months. Chips and salsa are on point. A side of black beans and cheese is included for the table. We ordered refreshments and reviewed the brunch menu. We ordered the Chilaquiles, Chile Relleno, and Ranchero. All of the dishes had an excellent presentation, as did mine. My fajitas meat was very tough and fatty, not what I expected. But the rice, beans, guacamole, and sour cream were good. The green hot sauce was mucho hot. But it was tasty. Will have to try the bar food/appetizers if we drop in again. Service was good.
