I ordered a splash "waterproof" black martingale collar and leash for 49.28. I received this. I also ordered a red "regular" martingale collar and leash for 35.48. I DID NOT receive this... LupinePet shipped a second "splash collar" instead. I was going to just keep it but the collars DO NOT have a clasp and the continious over the head and adjusting the collar makes it not stay tight around the dogs neck. Poor design and dangerous if the dog gets stuck without a person around to help it. I tried to ship the red collar and leash back since it was LupinePet's fault that they shipped the wrong one, but they do not pay for shipping. So terrible product and terrible customer service. We purchased 4-5 leashes from Blue Seal last year. They told us the leashes were guaranteed for life, anytime one was damaged we could replace it free. We took advantage of that guarantee several times do to our dogs chewing on the leash, no problems. We didn't pay anything (they said and honored free replacement) and also replaced the same purchase more than once. Eventually they did not replace leashes anymore and it had to be done online through Lupine. 1st issue, it wasn't free anymore. They are charging a $2.99 handling fee. I spoke to a representative of Lupine and asked what happened to the free replacement they are still offering, they said it was free, you just have to pay the handling fee. Paying anything more than $0 is no longer free. I'm not quite sure how their math works at that company. Ok, so I PAID for the FREE replacement for 2 of the leashes that were chewed. One of those got chewed again, and now they are saying I can only get 1 not free replacement per purchase. Neither of those stipulations were in effect when I purchased these leashes, so I asked the company for a full refund for all the leashes I purchased and would gladly return them to the company. They denied my request and basically said this is the new policy and I was out of luck. I WILL NOT purchase anymore of their products again. I understand circumstances change, however if the purchase was made prior to that change, the company should honor the original advertised guarantee or refund the customer for that purchase. read more

I have been using LupinePet collars (martingales and buckles) for over 15 years on both foster dogs and my own dogs, ranging in size from 40 lbs to just under 200 lbs. I have never had a problem with collar integrity- save for very determined chewers- in all that time. If a dog did chew up a collar, LupinePet quickly and easily replaced it. I currently have two giant breed dogs, one of whom has snapped a couple of leashes this month alone (Please note: these were NOT LupinePet leashes!). Her LupinePet collar has held up, though. Avoid this company (Lupine). I purchased a harness that I tried to put on my dog ONE time and took off immediately. Paid $8 to ship it back expecting to receive a refund or at least company credit as it was still in brand new condition with tag on. Customer service (Erin Russell) said "they found a raise in the fabric" and could not offer a refund/exchange. Went back and forth a bit, and even spoke with a manager (Michelle Kidder) all for nothing. No flexibility whatsoever on a product that was tried on ONCE. Not sure how Lupine expects to get repeat customers with such an inflexible policy on products you cannot try in "in store". Will not purchase form again, and I recommend you avoid Lupine as well. read more

Horrible experience with Lupine, pet dog harness and leash. I have been buying harnesses for my greyhounds for the past 30 years usually use premier. Thought I would try lupine as they had some cute designs were so excited about receiving my harness and leash. I had my girls name embroidered on the harness. It arrived I was super excited until I opened the package. first off the adjustment clips were plastic. Second of all the material was super stiff and scratchy then the fit was the worst part of all. Did not fit and did not adjust well. Contacted Lupine to get a refund as I paid almost $60 for the harness and found out they would not take it back because it was embroidered which was also a fiasco. the name was way down towards the chest on the harness, not up where you could even see it. Needless to say, I will be leaving more reviews elsewhere since they didn't seem to want to handle it very well. If I could give a zero star I would have. Beware of the material they use for these harnesses as I stated, they are just really itchy and not flexible. read more

We purchased 3 dog harnesses for our 3 dogs since they were advertised as "escape proof." I placed each one on the dogs for sizing and took them off. We took one dog to the vet. I grabbed one harness and took off the tags on that one harness. She escaped out of the harness before we got to the car in our driveway. I checked that they were on correctly - it was. Never used the harness for one outing. We returned all 3 harnesses. I got an email that we can't return any of them due to signs of use. Excuse me but why can't I return all 3? Lupine advertises a guarantee, but does not back it. I submitted a small dog collar that the fabric had pulled and frayed within just weeks of buying it. My other dog's one like it in a different color is fine. I submitted photos and a write up and even purchased another leash to add to the order. The next morning I got a call from the sales rep/ customer service and said they wouldn't cover the collar and that fraying, fabric issues, and defects aren't covered..but chewing is??? I even would have kept the order for the leash intact, but she cancelled my whole order without my permission. I had bought Lupine collars and leashes for my dogs and collars for my cats for years, but with that kind of customer service, I'm done. It was a relatively in expensive collar from their line too, but they chose to forgo the sale of a $16 dollar leash to avoid replacing a $7 collar. I'm going to start getting everything from Stunt Puppy, while more expensive has better customer service. I still can't believe this is how they treated a 15 year customer. read more

My little dog Bridget is a major chewer of pretty much anything that will stay still. In her 1.5 years she has chewed through more things than I could possibly count, including several leashes. When I heard that Lupine had a lifetime guarantee on their leashes, even if the leashes are chewed through, I knew it was time to invest! Leashes in general aren't cheap and investing at least $15 each time baby girl chewed through a leash was getting expensive. I ordered leashes for all 3 of the dogs in our households for $16.99 each. I've already had to send Bridget's back twice and my other dog Patrick's back once (Bridget got a hold of Pat's leash too- stopping to chat with neighbors on walks and those leashes are TOAST!) so far. After about a week, I had a new leash for Bridget in the mail. Just sent the 2 others out today. That's quick turn around! For the price, you may want to order 2 for each dog so that you have a back-up if the other needs replacing. In addition to their awesome guarantee, the leashes are of GREAT quality and have vibrant colors and patterns. We get compliments on their leashes and matching harnesses (not Lupine) all the time. If you have a dog that's fond of chewing leashes, Lupine is the way to go. This is an awesome company with a great business model: Do one thing REALLY well. After reading other reviews I see that I am not the only Lupine customer who has experienced the bogus return policy of the Lupine Company. I was a Lupine customer for many years. I have made many purchases from Lupine and never experienced the occasion to request a return. Most recently I purchased two sets of harnesses and leashes for my dogs. One was a replacement for an old and worn set. When I received it, I removed the tags and fitted the harness to my dog. She never had a chance to wear it as my husband hated the pattern I had chosen. I ordered a separate set and contacted Lupine concerning a return of the original set. I was told, "Sure you can return it, even if the tags have been removed and if your dog has worn it around the house a little." I returned the set and never heard from Lupine concerning the return, so I called to check on my refund. I was told that the brand-new set I returned was used and dirty and that because they had to protect their other customers, I would not be receiving a refund. On top of that insult, they offered me a onetime 25% discount. Due to their bogus return policy and extremely poor customer service Lupine has lost a good, longtime customer. read more

Lupine does not stand by there guarentee! I have an aggressive chewer puppy and goes through leashes. Bones, toys etc My trainer told me about lupine leashes because of there guarentee but they don't tell you THERE'S A LIMIT. When I spoke to the owner of the company he told me he didn't want me as a customer anymore because I go thru too many leashes ! The guarentee doesn't state anywhere that there's a limit . read more

I got my dog a collar and leash. The patterns are so fun. The clasp on the leash had changed and it would open. We picked her up from the kennel and walking her to the car and the clasp was open! She was on the loose and she does not have great recall. Luckily she just did her business and hot into the car. Whew! I returned the leash to the store and got another, same type of clasp. It happened again. So I called Lupine directly and they sent me a new leash with a different clasp! Awesome customer service. Highly recommend!! read more

We'd bought this collar before, and it was fine. But I wanted to alert you to a problem we had with the last one be bought, so no other animals are at risk. I had one of these collars, which I'd bought in 2019, but never put on my kitty, because she died. So, it was in new condition when I put it on my new kitty a few months ago. When I put it on him, I made sure there were two fingers of space -- that it wasn't too tight. I'm not sure how long later -- probably a month or two -- he was making strange noises. I thought maybe he had a cold. When he was still making them two or three days later, I asked my husband to listen, and told him we'd need to make a vet appointment. My husband figured out that the collar was too tight. It had somehow tightened significantly, and was literally choking our cat. We immediately removed it. Our baby had sores under the collar. When we removed it, he stopped making the wheezing kind of noise, and was fine. I went to get a new collar, bringing the old one to the store. When I measured the old one against a new one of the same notated size, I saw that somehow the collar was literally half the length of what it had been when I'd put it on my cat. I never washed the collar, so I have no idea how it could have shrunk like that while on his neck. It was literally choking him/slowly cutting his head off. It upsets me deeply that my cat went through this. He must have been so scared, and in so much pain, with no way to tell us. I don't want any other animals to suffer like this. Thanks. read more

I've got a small dog, ordered the step-through harness and leash and used them for a couple years. I found the quality to be very good and have been happy with the product. The harness began to fray in several places and the snap on the leash broke, so I was going to order a new set from Lupine. (We hike a lot so they get beat up a fair amount). I saw on the site that there was a guarantee and said why not and put in for replacements and Lupine sent me a whole new set with zero hassle. Wow! Cat collar only lasted a few days I needed basic collars for my cats. I got one in red and one in blue, 6 bucks each. I liked the clasp better than others and payed extra. I got a wireless whiskers feeder and needed collars for the sensors. This collar didn't even last a week! My cat scratched it out of shape. Guarantee? Got ahold of Lupine last week and spoke with Jennifer she handled the leash issue like you would except a professional company as Lupine to handle a problem. I sent her my items back and asked her if for my surety could I exchange them for the next leashes up with the more hiking type latch? Not a problem! (: But she was concerned about my smaller collars not working well with those leashes. So she exchanged my collars to also to match! (: My opinion on the latch problem is that it's the ring on the collar and leash working together. The latch gets twisted which will push on the release and like magic unhooked! Because when hooking the leashes I was returning to the new bigger collars received which the ring is bigger on. We could NOT any way shape or form get those leashes to release. So I really think it's a simple as putting a little bigger ring on the collars so this never possibly happens to anyone else! I have confidence in Lupine! They will get it all figured out! Crooks. Returned products because the collar slipped looser. Tracking shows items recieved a week ago and they confirmed. Three days later they act as if they don't know the tracking numbers on return labels they provided or reeipt of the items they already confirmed and USPS shows delivered. Lupine Pet Company rocks! Not only do they have an amazing selection of collars, leashes and harnesses, they truly stand by their promise "Guaranteed Even if Chewed" and more! My Westie chewed her way out of a harness, not once, but twice!!! (Until she was properly trained not to do it :-)) Both times I sent the chewed up harness back to them and, no questions asked, they sent us brand new ones! But that's nothing. This week they had me speechless. I bought Lupine collar for my rescued cat. I honestly don't know what he did, but he must have been trying to get his way out of it and must have been rubbing it against something. The collar was frayed beyond recognition. This is a truly wonderful company. First of all, the colors and patterns on the collars and leashes are gorgeous. Very vibrant and unusual. And, they should last many years. We had a fifteen year-old dog and his leash and collar and harness lasted his lifetime. I still have it for sentimental reasons:-(. Our dogs have never been chewers, so that has not been an issue, but one leash did have an problem after a number of years in that the metal fastener stopped opening. It would have been ok (and was) if I had just kept the leash and harness together, but I wanted to buy a softer harness for our dog (that is elderly and now has sensitive skin) and attach the old leash. I sent it back and got a brand new leash AND harness. So nice. I would recommend Lupine products to all pet parents! I find the complaints here a little silly. I mean - ok - maybe a replacement once in a while, but chronic leash chewing is a behavioral issue, not a quality issue. These leashes last for a VERY long time and are well worth the price! Incredible customer service! They sent me a wrong item, an original harness, when I had ordered a no-pull harness. I sent them a quick email and they apologized and told me to donate the extra harness to the humane society and they would send out my original order ASAP. I love that they not only took the time to correct their mistake but also to ask that I donate the extra harness instead of sending it back. That shows a true commitment to animal's.
