Lovely place between all my favorite shops. The workers are nice, great quality, and in my opinion you get what you pay for. I got numerous products bathbombs, soaps, shampoos, body washes, toothy tab, tooth powder, facemask, hair melts, face creams, and lotions. All of them are excellent. I love the locaton I mean who doesn't wanna get a new iPhone case, go shopping at forever 21, getting perfume and candles at bath and body works, chocolates at sees, popcorn at cornology, then get some pampering supplies. After reading reviews I had to write one immediately! I have to say, I'm 44 and have tried quite a few shampoo's in my life. I'm also a sceptic, especially if someone comes on strong in sales, but as my mom & I walked out of "Lush" Mother's Day weekend with samples of neatly wrapped mini bars of shampoo, I was doubtful I would ever return except for an occasional bath bomb. I was wrong, we were both wrong! Reluctantly tried the shampoo and conditioner the next day, and have never looked back. The "bar" shampoo is the best shampoo I could only dream of using on my hair. My hair is fine and needs regular color every 5-6 weeks. Since using these products my hair looks healthier than I've never seen it before, my color lasts up to 2 weeks longer, and is so soft I'm constantly running my hands through it! Just recently tried the facial scrub "Angels on the face"....and what difference my husband even noticed! My face looks fresh and clean and so soft, it even takes my water proof mascara off!! Whether you're a fan of natural products or not, give these products a try, you won't be sorry...and the price is worth what you get for sure!! read more

I think I avoided this place for a long time because going in gives me such a headache, BUT I am so glad I got over that. They have some really spectacular products that I am pretty obsessed with. The Ultrabland has been a lifesaver. Also, the Oatifix is a fantastic product for those of us with dry & sensitive skin. They also have great grab and go gifts that everyone loves. My daughter took me here the other day just for some gift shopping and I ended up finding a few things for myself. A little pricey but everything looked so good. And the gift receiver was very happy. We just had our daughter's 11 year old birthday party at Lush in Emeryville, after hours (7pm-9pm). Initially, I was worried the later hours on a Sunday evening would be hard the next day on Monday morning for school but this party was so worth it! We had about 7 girls and there were about 6 Lush employees literally pampering each of the girls. They rotated from a hand scrub/bath bomb-making area to a facial to playing with Lush's very popular "Fun". They then enjoyed cake and ended with a shopping spree in gift cards divided among the party-goers for the cost of the party. All the Lush girls were so enthusiastic and great. You would think they would have been tired from working a full Sunday but they so great and engaged with the girls, I could not ask for a better party! My daughter and her friends had a blast! read more

The Husband and I decided to stop by Lush for the first time at this location. Our intentions were to just get some bath bombs (finally right). And we left the store more than satisfied. We were greeted by a gentlemen (i never got his name) and a lovely gal named Alissa (i remember cuz she has the same name as my niece). Alissa was amazing, she helped us out with the bath bombs that best suited each of us, individually, since the hubz and i have different taste, of course. She also opened up my eyes on their Makeup Line. I had no idea they had a makeup section, i havent been to a Lush in a few years, and i jumped to it without a second thought. At this point the hubz went off with the gentlemen to do his hand sea salt demo, Alissa did a fun game of colors with me. It really was a refresher, i personally am in the makeup industry, and it really helped me enjoy makeup even more. I chose two of the three colors that had came up for me. As for the hubz, he got a full face consultation (hes been on a hunt for his face skin care routine), he enjoyed everything that Lush had to offer. Since he does have Eczema, the products Alissa chose for him felt very Personalized; he definitely needed it and so far loving his fun new items. Also they gave us some lovely samples to take home to try. We mentioned we had a 2yr old girl, that that was the main reason we wanted to get the bath bombs, she showed us what was good fun bath bombs for the little one. Alissa showed us the huge selection of cute little bath bombs (you already know we were both all over that), got two and so far our little girl loved bath 10x more than before! Safe for the skin, gentle enough, and fun! For the whole family. Thank you Lush for the lovely experience. We will be coming back to this SPECIFIC location. I am obsessed with this place! I had been a few times, but more to look around than to actually buy stuff. I received one of their gift sets for Christmas and now I'm hooked. My most recent visit (today) was fabulous! I was the only customer in the store for the majority of my visit, so the staff was very engaged and interactive. I spent an hour with one employee, Alyssa, and she was fabulous! We looked at shampoo, conditioner, lip scrub, massage bars, soaps, hand scrub, cuticle cream, face wash, moisturizers and more!! I spent an hour in there and she was awesome! She helped me sample every product, and gave a thorough explanation of each, including scent, ingredients, cost, and personal preference. I was hesitant to buy some products and she assured me of the 100% return policy. I ended up buying a solid shampoo, solid conditioner, and solid deodorant. She gave me free samples of the cuticle cream, face moisturizer, face scrub, and hand scrub. I am super satisfied and feel like it was well worth my $30. I will definitely be back soon!!! I don't mind paying a bit more for quality, natural ingredients, especially when I get free samples and lots of attention! read more

The products are great. I've bought some of the soaps and bath fizzies. The reason I won't be back has nothing to do with the product. It's the fact that staff is constantly on my back when I come in this place. They have a sell sell sell mentality. I already know what I like there and when I say "I'm ok, Thanks" I kinda mean it...Leave me alone and let me browse and buy on my own...My last visit I was approached 3 times by the same person...It wasn't your basic "Do you need any help"...he was asking about my skin and I guess the other sales person wasn't paying attention and she approached me to with the usual lines...Their intention is to sell just too much. I left after approached the third time and didn't buy anything. Was because of all that, that I won't be back...Not because of the product...I can go get just a good of product elsewhere and not feel like I'm passing through airport security. read more

We just celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday here. All five girls got mini-facials and had a good time. I like that the shop focuses on skincare and not cosmetics. You can have a party either before or after hours with a LUSH gift card purchase for each party-goer. I highly recommend LUSH for a pre-teen/teen girl party! read more

Let me start off by saying, I'm addicted to Lush products. So the fact that I'm only giving them three starts is a mere reflection on the customer service at the Bay Street store. It's EXTREMELY hit or miss, depending on the day I either feel like a loved Lush enthusiast, or I feel like I'm being rushed out of the store. Not sure why, but it really sucks. I never have this issue at the Powell store and in fact, one of the employees who I always enjoyed seeing at the Powell store transferred to the Bay Street store. Usually, they give me great service and are super personable, maybe they were having an off day but i felt like I was annoying the hell out of them when I needed to return a couple of things. I have never returned a Lush product until the other day, usually I love them, but their deodorants need some work, either the scent is too strong, or they're hella messy, but I digress. There are a couple of employees (I wish I knew their names so I could give them props) who are always hella cool and recommend grrrreat stuff to me. but unfortunately there are a few employees who i always feel are trying to rush me out of the store, or i feel like my questions annoy them. Oh, Bay Street Lush, please get some genuine employees so I don't have to make the journey across the bay to get some amazing service from the Powell store!! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I walked in on a late Friday night towards closing. After walking up and down bay street where no other store would bother cause they were to busy cleaning for closing these girls asked what my concerns were and even did a demo @ 8:30. The girl who helped me was awesome! Not sure of her name she had glasses tattoos and was petite! She picked out products based on my concern of rosacea! She was very knowledgeable about why she chose the products she did and explained all ingredients! I picked up the angel cleanser a rose infused toner and the seaweed mask! She also used a glamorous moisturizer that I decided to pass on cause I have so many! Instead of being pushy she totally said okay let me get you a sample! Let me tell you I just used all my products before bed and my face feels and smells heavenly! I will be back and she got me hooked I totally am picking up the moisturizer! : ) read more

This review is solely based on customer services. I stopped in yesterday, 6/5/15 & experienced a rather disturbing experience. I walked into the store & was immediately greeted. I looked around the store found the lip scrubs, picked up 2 & continued to walk around. I was w/my boyfriend who sat on the little counter area to wait for me. A short asian girl w/grey hair approached me & asked if I needed help, I replied w/no and that i was okay. She walked away but continued to watch what I was doing. I walked over to the bath bombs & smelled some of them & even called my boyfriend over to smell them as well, all the while she was standing about 3 feet away from me, watching me. Then she walked up again & asked if I needed a basket for the items in my hand, I replied with no thanks and she asked if i was sure, i said im sure thanks. She took a few steps back & I walked back over to the scrubs & finally made my decision, walked over to the register, & again she followed me. (Mind you that there were about 10 other customers in the store). I placed my items on the counter and the Asian girl walked over behind the counter to look at the items I had placed on the counter. I made a comment to my boyfriend about her following me around and she just stared at me w/a rude look on her face. The cashier looked embarrassed and I was annoyed. This was my first time purchasing anything from Lush & it will be my last. The horrible customer service & the overpriced items are enough for me to never purchase anything from here again. Even if I end up loving the three products I purchased yesterday, I'll look for a different company with better customer service. read more

I love this store. I only been inside once when they opened the first lush in San Francisco, I didn't purchase anything at that time so many years ago. This time it was amazing the staff was extremely helpful as my son was touching everything he can put to his nose to get a sweet smell of very busy 5year old, the woman and her male co-worker informed me that proactive had not worked for them and they changed their ingredients and it only works for a small percentage luckily I am part of that percentage. However they let me know if it ever stops working to def. pay them a visit and they will get my skin back on the right track. The woman that helped me was roughly mid 20's beautiful blue eyes nice warm smile, brunette. I feel horrible that I can't remember her name. She really took her time with me and showed me an abundance of products without getting frustrated with me or my busy 5year old, she tossed in their catalog when I got home I had no idea that she opened me to a beautiful world of eco friendly products that are great for your body. Wonderful experience! Being an Esthetician I am extremely ingredient conscious. I strolled in last week just wanting to browse as I was greeted by Lydia. She was so helpful even when I first told her I was just looking. As soon as I had a question she was right there to engage and answer any questions I had. I like the most natural and organic ingredients possible so she showed me some nice options. I didn't purchase anything, though she made me a couple of samples. I immediately went home and tried full of grace. It was silky, smooth and just heaven on skin. The scent was just as enchanting. Anyway, I came back with my mom a couple days later to pick up some items and I probably wouldn't have had I not had such a wonderful experience with Lydia. She allowed me to sample and feel and play. Upon returning with my mom we sampled some more and the all the other employees were as sweet and charming as Lydia. So we narrowed it down to sparkle toothy tabs (which wound up amazing). M mouth feels so squeaky clean after and I am happy to say I could never go back to regular toothpaste after this experience. We bought the sugar scrub, two massage bars (strwberry fields for ever and pearl) omg! My mom got the one with the little jasmine flower on it. I highly recommend the message bars to replace you're average body moisture. This method of the solid bar eliminates the waste in landfills. Totally in love. I also tried a chunk of a facial cleanser with calamine powder to reduce inflammation and acne. Very decadent. I would recommend pre cleansing to remove makeup first before using it. Anyway, I am now a Lush-addict. I tell all of my clients of their wonderful products and staff. If only I could find a Lush spa near me! read more

I love lush products especially the ones that come in during the holidays. Although I love lush I can't really go out and buy it on a regular basis although I try to, it is very expensive. The customer service is only good when there are only 2 customers in the store. The last time I went their I waited 10 mins. for some soap and never got assistance because there where 3 customers in the store so I just got something else and left. Overall I like the products but customer service and the price could be helped a bit :D read more

The store itself is very nice; clean, good size, the display's were beautiful as always. My issue with this location is the employees. Although they were truly very nice, they were also very, very aggressive. I love Lush, so I understand why they would be so enthusiastic about all the amazing products Lush has to offer. However, as my friend and I went in just so I could pick up a fresh pot of Ocean Salt, we were practically surrounded by 4 employees at once, and were kind of forced to look at everything they wanted to show us. I explained that I'm a very loyal customer and I own many Lush products already, and that I was just there to pick up one item because thats all I could afford that day. As they lured my timid friend away to do a demo which she wasn't really down for, I was quite literally followed around by another employee who kept trying to get me to look at all these haircare items, many of which I told her I already own. I feel bad because they were so nice, but it was honestly really awkward and I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I appreciate good customer service, but I really don't like it when salespeople are on your jock, especially when you are already a brand buyer. As my friend and I left, we just looked at each other like, "woah!" and discussed how overwhelmed we felt. I would totally be down to go back and give them another shot, but I didn't dig this Lush experience as much as I do at other locations. read more

I visited lush for the first time after hearing such great reviews. I wanted a whole new face wash regimen as well as pick up some gifts for friends. The sales staff greeted me right away and sat me down for a consultation. They went over what goal I wanted for my skin and my problems in the past. Since using lush I have noticed a huge difference! the employees here are so knowledgeable about their products. if you have any beauty need they will know exactly what product will be best for you and take the time to explain their products and what you need to know about how to use them etc. plus they will let you take samples of anything else you may want to try. so friendly and they really care you're getting exactly what you need or your money back. read more

I was going to try a sample of the lip cream they have and accidentally, I grabbed a non sample one and just opened it and nothing else. As soon as I open it some older lady that works there grabbed my arm and said "no I work here, these aren't samples" I was in shock that she grabbed my arm like that and wouldn't let go until I gave her the product. I was so mortified, she could have just said "hey this isn't a tester". I hope they fire her. Just HORRIBLE experience. read more

I just was going to buy the jungle solid hair conditioner as I always did because it seems to work better than anything else. I am 7 months pregnant and have been to several other Lush stores. This one was the best I have ever been to. I walked in with my nearly 2 year old daughter and they just made her day showing her how to make bubbles, and testing the bath fizzies with her and she got to play with them at the same time, She also got to play with the shower jellies and stick them on the wall and watch them roll down. Now this to me was impressive, and they also knew their products in this store, and were very helpful to try and sell me products I am not allergic to as well as for my daughter. This store helped me fix my fried Pregnancy hair and demonstrated the products to not only my daughter but me as well. Instead of just buying the conditioner, I bought shampoo, lip gloss, and two kids robot bath fizzies for my daughter which made her bath a breeze tonight compared to our usual telling me no and fighting to get her in the bath tub. These Lush associates made my husbands and my night as well as my daughter and my day more enjoyable. Super kid friendly and helpful, two things I really like.
