Over four years, I have been to several different lash salons but never really stuck with one until I met Oxana.

Hello, so this post may be TMI - so if you aren't into that, keep scrolling and just look at the 5…read morestars ~ I am a light skinned black women w/ very coarse curly hair. My private area hairs HATE being waxed. I always end up getting ingrown hairs after a wax. I have had nothing but issues with waxing, even after visiting European Wax Center. Once upon a time I lived in Atlanta and would get waxes from Andreas, but I no longer live there. STRAVROULA, the waxer, was the absolute best. She works in the basement of a hair salon, but the wax room is clean and tidy. I told her I don't usually wax because of getting ingrown hairs. I was only getting a bikini wax, so she gave me a pair of disposable underwear. I thought that was great and professional. I told her I wanted to try the Sugar wax, as I had read about it, and wanted to try it out. She tried the sugar wax on me and the sensitive skin wax on me. She would use the different waxes for different parts of my skin. She payed attention to me, engaged in conversation and the wax did not hurt as much as I thought. The pain level was about the same with other waxes that I have had. After the wax, my skin was very bumpy and red, but within the next few hours that went away. I wanted to write a review the day I got the wax, but decided to wait because my issues usually pop up AFTER the wax with ingrown hairs, but I can say 1 week later, my extended bikini line is still bump free. I will ONLY be going to STRAVOULA and actually look forward to getting another before my next vacation. Side bar: I always HATE how people who wax you, tell you to come more often to reduce the pain and the amount of hair and I really think that is a myth and a way for the shop to make more money. At European Wax Center they always try and make you buy a package to save $X.00 over time and they wax you so fast, there is no personal touch. I feel that they only care about profits. I felt that Stravoula actually cared about my skin and wanted me to have a great experience. I do not hate EWC, but they are both near eachother and one is franchise, while the other is a small business owner who has been doing this sort of work for 20+ years. Good luck hairy gals!

The room was rinky dinky. And she had a rude tone in her voice when I genuinely asked about why she switched up the routine. I already decided before going that I was switching to a different spa, but now I am DEFINITELY switching. I guess you get what you pay for. Oh and she left leftover dried up mask product on my face after the last facial. And said she cleared up all my blackheads, when I had a whole jaw line and cheek full of them. Did she not see them under the bright light?? I don't get it. They're clearly black and white and obviously there. I'm confused, genuinely.

There have to be at least 100+ dip colors, the most out of any salon in the area. The staff is always kind, however they occasionally run late (but most salons do). Plenty of chairs and always able to take quick appointments. I absolutely hate to rate this place anything less than 5 stars, as a 4.5 would be perfect for me. However, they are definitely not the cleanest salon in the area. I've luckily never had any issues, but you can tell the tools aren't cleaned in between sessions and a lot of tools are very old looking. Overall, it's not enough to deter me from these stellar designs!

There have been several times where I have an AMAZING manicure/pedicure. Limited wait, talented technician, and lasting results. However, I've also had some pretty unpleasant experiences. Even when I've reserved a time slot on their website, I've found myself waiting 20+ minutes for my appointment to begin. There also has been some long wait time in between my manicure and pedicure in the past. Additionally, I've been mildly injured now twice by technicians with nicking and overcutting that both resulted in bleeding. In both instances, I wasn't offered any sort of financial compensation (which I have in the past at other salons). One of my nails was seriously in lots of pain for 2 weeks following it! Overall, I'd suggest coming here for a good pedicure and if only if you make an appointment (and have some wiggle room around that slot). Otherwise, hope for a great technician (like Tony). I've attached a photo of a set he did for me last fall.

I got a facial and massage my first time there and have been hooked ever since. I get regular hydrafacials here and started laser hair removal too. The hydrafacials have really transformed my skin. I love them and always leave there glowing. The laser treatments have been going well so far - I wouldn't call them fun or relaxing by any means but they're effective! The staff here has always been super lovely. My usually aesthetician moved this year so I started going to new people (I can't remember their names) but they're also lovely. I'll also note that spa treatments are not cheap but skin spa ALWAYS has a deal going on so you can get good discounts and once you purchase a service, it doesn't expire. I love them.

I used the med spa part of this business. While the service itself is okay, there is no consistency…read morebetween how the procedure is done. Everyone is doing it differently, some charge you for a calming mask, some give it as a compliment to the service. I found it very confusing and frustrating. The worst is their behavior around tipping for med spa services. They blatantly and aggressively tried to get me to tip for those, literally trying to shame into paying it by loudly requesting a tip in front of everyone at the front desk, in addition to a big tablet with a tip suggestion (of 20,25 etc % expectation clearly listed) shoved in my face. This is a shady practice trying to indicate to a patient that this kind of tip is expected on a med spa procedure. Industry norms within healthcare generally favor transparent, all-inclusive pricing rather than gratuity-based compensation. This principle typically applies to services provided within medical spas, regardless of whether a specific treatment is performed by a medical provider or an esthetician. Because the service is offered under the medical spa's clinical umbrella and within a healthcare-related environment, patients reasonably expect the advertised price to reflect the full cost of care. Soliciting tips in this setting can create confusion regarding pricing, blur professional boundaries, and undermine the distinction between healthcare services and traditional hospitality services. The business acknowledges med spa separation from their day spa services. You receive multiple emails, forms to sign, etc. indicating a treatment that is treated as a procedure done under medical setting. It should be left to a patient discretion to provide a token of gratuity if they decide to do so, but in the med spa setting, there should not be expectation of the same tipping practice as for the traditional day spa services. I was very taken aback by these practices. This behavior was not present at other branches, but unfortunately those have been closed or will be closed.
