Goodness! Had Salmon with their wonderful sauce, and with it I had mixed vegetables with garlic and white rice. Everything about the meal was de-yummy! The salmon, cooked to perfection! The vegetables were perfectly seasoned and the garlic flavor was such a bonus! White rice -- what can I say? White rice! The service was great. Dang it, I forgot server's name, but he's served me before. Polite, professional and very knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu! Love him!! Ordered a white wine Sangria. Meh. It was only fair. And maybe just a tad beneath fair. Never have I had one with so much juice in it! I have to wonder if the juice was used to replace the fruit usually in their Sangria. With this parasite causing explosive diarrhea, perhaps that's why the juice. Didn't like it. Didn't taste any wine. And although my server claimed to put more wine in, I do believe he added sparkling soda instead. One bad drink did not take away from the delicious meal. I shall return! read more

My first time since the move to the new location, right near the heart of Port Saint Lucie. Our bread (not Portuguese) was warm but delicious. We shared a whole chicken with fries and veggies. Plenty of food for two and with leftovers too. It took a bit long, but maybe it takes a while to grill a chicken. Service was good and attentive. We also shared the chocolate mousse which was divine. I found the desserts to be pricey in comparison to the entrees. The area is fairly new so everything looks new and clean. Plenty of parking. The New Bedford Provençal was very bland it had no flavor, only chopped up olives and very little capers. I remember the first time I had this it had whole olives and a nice amount of capers and was seasoned to perfection. However the Teixeria Style Linguini was very good. What a wonderful surprise to find this lovely restaurant across from the hotel we were staying in one evening! We enjoyed our takeout so much that we ate here for lunch a few days later. Service was very attentive! We sat outside under a huge umbrella and enjoyed our delicious lunch. They have a wonderful selection of fresh fish; we had shrimp scampi, Bronzino, and veggie pasta. This was our go to place ever since they opened the new location. The staff knew us, we felt appreciated. Slowly, the old staff started dissappearing, prices went up (we understand that things have gotten more expensive in general), they always had 2 portion sizes, my fiance appreciated that, as she doesn't eat large amounts. The last time we went, the long time manager was gone. The menu now states lite portions are only available at lunch. When we questioned the young waiter he said it had always been this way, maybe since he got there, but no. He finally allowed my fiance to have the lite portion. Myself and our guests all ordered ribs, but these we not available (this was at 5 in the evening). My fiance ordered the fish and chips. The fish was significantly overcooked. The food wasn't on par with their usual standard. With the new restaurants opening in the heart of tradition mall, they picked a bad time to change so much. We use to tell everyone that they were the place to go for really good reasonable food. Now we don't plan to return. It takes time to build a good reputation, but one bad experience to ruin it. read more

We were greeted promptly at the entrance and a smiling young lady. We were seated and made comfortable and our drinks were presented I started with the shrimp Mozambique which was wonderful! Then for my entree I had the Bacalhau Largareiro prepared perfectly. Tasted awesome. My husband had a Caesar salad with chicken and my son had the chicken Marsala which they both ate till there was nothing left and very happy. Our Server was very nice and took great care of our table. As soon as we sat down he brought us over 4 hot rolls with butter. However our main dish was disappointing. We ordered the Veal Marsala, pan seared finished with marsala wine and exotic mushrooms. The Veal and sauce tasted FISHY. In my opinion they used the same pan or grill to cook the Veal as they do their fish dishes. I have ordered Veal Marsala many times in the past from other restaurants in NY and South Fla and know the difference between fish and a Marsala sauce. read more

Located in a very busy Traditions plaza with lots of food options. We stumbled upon Luso because we Original were headed to another restaurant and didn't want to wait for 1 hour and a half. I'm really glad because we would have missed this place. When we arrived, there weren't many people (we actually made it at a perfect time) because it was packed afterward. There are several tables inside and some outdoor seating. It's not a huge place, so timing is everything The food was delicious, the table side flambayed chorizo (not pictured, sorry) was so good with served warm bread. The flavor on the other dishes were equally delicious. The dish with octopus, shrimp, and clams had the BEST octopus I have eaten. The pork and clams was the special of the night. The pork was fork tender. The shrimp scampi was delicious, too. I'd definitely return for the octopus and the grilled meat Platter. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. 1st time here, didn't have much hope, a friend picked. The place is cute, table clothed tables, reminded us of a NY restaurant ambiance wise but quiet. Pop Mine was surprisingly good, I had the shrimp pernod which came with white rice. The shrimp were large and cooked perfectly, the Pernod sauce was really good! We started with the clam appetizer, nice size clams, delicious broth , sadly the clams were sandy, but tender; the complimentary bread was warm. My husb had the garlic shrimp linguine, again beautiful shrimp he said it was ok prob because he's used to Italian scampi. A friend had the cod, beautiful piece of fish, loaded tho with bones, she did her best to pick through, most bones I've ever seen served in a restaurant. Yummy tiramisu for dessert. Liao Grille has an inviting atmosphere. It is definitely a place for friends and family to gather. While it is small inside, there is beautiful patio dining outside. True to its roots, there are photographs of Portuguese cuisine on the walls, and even a small balcony with flowers decorating it on the wall which is reminiscent of the homes lining the streets in the old country. The food is more traditional Portuguese. There did not seem to be any Azorean influence. When dining here it is best to make a reservation, as it was very busy and many patrons had an hour wait for seating. Our reservation was for 6:15 and we were sat by 6:17, which is not bad at all considering how busy they were. You should also plan on waiting for your food. Everything is made fresh as you order, so it takes time. I would suggest ordering appetizers and asking for bread. They have a decent wine selection as well as beer, fountain drinks, and Sumol in the can. The service overall was okay. It is my opinion that they were short staffed for the amount of tables with only three waiters serving inside and outside. We were patient, but we could see some frustration from other customers. Also, if you need refills, stop the waiters as they pass as they are running around quite a lot. My daughter orders the Picanha steak which was very flavorful, along with white rice and French fries. The fries are cut thin so they are more like thick potato chips, but they are made fresh. I ordered the Filet mignon. It was a little tough for a filet, but the flavor was wonderful and it was served with fresh chopped garlic and butter. Mine was served with rice and black beans. My husband ordered the Bifanas dinner with potatoes. He was hoping for Portuguese patatas guisadas or roasted potatoes, but his potatoes were also sliced thin and fried like a chip. The bifanas are cooked in a wine sauce and it was very wine forward in flavor so expect that if you order it. I wish I had taken photos but I forgot by the time our food arrived. We first came to Luso during an Italian Festival in Tradition, so were quite surprised we didn't have to wait too long until seated outside. We had no idea about the festival, as we were only passing through on the way back from an event elsewhere. Usually musical entertainment while I eat isn't for me - it's often too loud, and kills the ability to hear the people I'm sat with. Somehow Luso did the impossible and booked someone who we genuinely enjoyed listening to, so good job on that! The three of us all enjoyed our meals a lot. I used to visit a Portuguese restaurant back home quite regularly, so it was great to find somewhere offering similar cuisine in South Florida. My girlfriend absolutely loved the fries that came with one of the meals, to the degree they were a topic of conversation for a few days. We unexpectedly found ourselves in the area a month or so later, so decided to go back and sat inside. Another very enjoyable meal, this time trying the Chourico Flambé as our appetizer. Sadly this wasn't prepped tableside like the menu indicated, maybe only certain staff are able to do it. Disappointment didn't last long, it was very tasty as was the rest of the meal. As an aside, I'm not a massive fan of TVs in restaurants but it seems unavoidable these days. Fox News being on both times does nothing to change my feelings on the matter, but the volume being muted at least helps. I'm guessing it's the channel of choice for the people in this area, but I get the feeling it was only my table that got to enjoy the news of Trump's indictment come over the air, so there's that. read more

Port St. Lucie - We recently had dinner at this Portuguese restaurant. Casual with nice ambiance and background music inside. We made reservations and were greeted and sat immediately inside the small but comfortable dining area. There is a larger outside patio dining option available but with live or dj music outside on certain evenings so fyi. It is located in a new strip center with adequate parking in front, side and back. We ordered a half pitcher of red sangria that was good and refreshing. Then we went for some Portuguese specialties; we shared the chorizo flambéed as an app which was ok. But we each ordered the bacalhau lagareiro as entrees that were excellent. i.e. a generous and delicious cod fish "steak" perfectly prepared and presented with garlic, onions, potatoes and olive oil. We finished the meal with an order of what they identify as "custard cake" on the menu but is commonly referred to as "pastel de nata," 2 very delicious creamy custard pastries. Our server, Olivia, was great- friendly, efficient and professional. The restaurant loses a star from me only because it adds a 4% credit card fee, like a handful of other restaurants in this area ONLY. It's a thing up here unlike Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach restaurants. This is of course ridiculous and petty. But plenty more restaurants are opening up in this area without this nonsense so I suspect this fee will hopefully be gone then. Otherwise, we will return to Luso's for the food and service .... after driving to an ATM machine on the way of course.‍ read more

I had the Chicken Marsala with rice and veggies. It had really good flavor and I could actually taste the wine in the sauce. I've never experienced that with a marsala dish before. The portion was huge and I could only eat half of the chicken. The server was thoughtful and asked if I liked the dish because so much food was left on my plate. I really appreciated that attention to detail, but assured him it was only due to the size of the dish. The other guest had the Octopus and thought it was good but the sauce was a bit too wet (not a deal-breaker though). We went to Luso Grille for diner last night with two other couples. Everyone raved about how great their meal was. It was a late dinner, so we skipped starters and went straight to Sangria. I had the octopus and it was amazing. I also tasted the scampi and fish and chips. Both were excellent. I also couldn't stop eating the bread. I hope they start selling those rolls to go. We were actually headed to a different restaurant and when I walked by Luso I was wishing that that was our destination. Much to my delight the place we were headed was closed and we had a wonderful dining experience with a Portuguese flare. We had the house cured salmon for appetizer that was incredible and I enjoyed the grilled octopus while my date enjoyed the lobster scented shrimp scampi. Went to the Luso Grill today and had two great meals. Portuguese steak and roasted chicken. What a wonderful surprise to see great Portuguese food in Port St. Lucie. We are from the New Bedford area from where the owner hails and this menu was authentic and the food lived up to what we would expect from a true Portuguese restaurant.
