Ac n cheese was just ok, they were lacking the cheesey cheeseyness I was expecting, maybe too much Velveeta. The green beans were obviously from a can, but they did an ok job of masking the can taste with seasonings, however I was expecting fresh or even from frozen green beans when you consider they are a little pricey. The fish was pretty good, fried crispy, good flavor and not greasy, so that was a win. The wings were smokey, pulled away from the bone easily and had flavor to the bone, so win again. Being completely honest, aside from the fried catfish, this place did not standout to me. Me and the wife ordered the "family meal" with fried catfish, Mac & Cheese and fried okra. The Mac & Cheese tastes just like Bakers deli, the okra wasn't seasoned... but the fish is GREAT!!! It's fried very well and has the perfect amount of spice to it. If you visit, you'll notice the sign that says "Check your food before you leave ". Definitely do, as the customer in front of me wasn't given his shrimp. The spousal unit and I showed up at 1pm on Saturday. Parking was plenty but seating was tight. We had hoped to have greens, but they were out. The shrimp combo was also good; the shrimp was really good! The green beans were good, but I'm not sure if they were canned (like from a 1 gallon Costco or Sam's can) seasoned with Italian dressing or not. Regardless, the beans were good. The shrimp is so good. That's what really stands out about this spot for me. They have a lot of different combos and options to choose from. I look forward to trying the catfish, but I'll never come here without getting the shrimp. That would be crazy. I also had the rice and beans which was good. For dessert some of the lemon cake. Wow. I'm from the South and I can't tell you how happy I am to finally have found a good place for flavorful fried fish and shrimp in landlocked Nebraska. Lots of sides to choose from, with main meats of fish, shrimp and smoked chicken. I chose a fried fish and shrimp combo with fried okra and green beans (because they were out of greens). The green beans were super flavorful and tender, and would have been closer to perfect if a little less salty. The fried fish was delicious, as was the shrimp. Okra was nice and crispy. When you enter you walk to the counter and place your order, I went with the half dinner catfish and got 2 sides red beans/rice and potatoe salad she asked if I wanted to add a drink for another dollar so brought the total to $13 dollars. So drink is sold seperate. Then you grab a table the restaurant has tables and chairs other than that it's pretty plain. Food came out in 10 mins and looked good. The fish was good and the red beans were very good. I will definitely go again. The only thing I can complain about was the plastic bottles with hot sauce needs to be wiped and cleaned I dont care to grab a bottle and have it sticky and gunky. I live about 20 minutes away and I just kept hoping that my fish and shrimp would still be hot and crispy when I got home!! It was and it was fantastic!! I think it's because they fry it up fresh for every order!! We had the greens, fried okra, rice and beans and the macaroni n cheese!! EVERY side was delicious! Mac n cheese over the top great!! I also ordered the peach cobbler but too full to try it!! That will have to wait until tmrw!! The man and woman working in the restaurant were as sweet and kind as could be. Came in for a late dinner(8PM). It was still very busy. I went inside and made an order to go because they were not serving inside yet due to the virus. I was told that there would be a 20 to 25 minute wait. It was actually 27 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. I had a fish and wing combo with a piece of lemon cake for dessert. The fish was very good. It had a little more coating on it then I usually would like, but in this case I did not mind it because the coating was so good. The fish was cooked perfectly. It was not greasy or oily at all and did not have a strong fishy taste. The tarter sauce they provided was very good but the hot sauce was not. It was a pre-made sauce in a foil packet. I just used my own crystal hot sauce. The smoked wings were some of the best I have ever had. They were exactly as advertised. They were perfectly cooked, juicy and had a nice smokey flavor that was not overpowering. The 2 pieces of bread that the fish and chicken were served on were very good due the juices that they had absorbed. My side of breaded fried orca was large and delicious. My other side of red beans and rice was OK but not up to the quality of the rest of the food. I finished my meal with a Very large piece of their lemon cake. To say the least, there was not a crumb left. I definitely will be coming back, but in the future I will call my order in to avoid the long wait. Give this place a try. Love this place!!! We got a family dinner with fried catfish, fried okra, and mac n cheese. The portions were huge! For $28, the 3 of us left feeling very stuffed, and we took home enough leftovers for a whole extra meal. The catfish was the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot because I'm originally from Mississippi. :) It was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The okra had the perfect balance of crunch vs softness. And the mac n cheese was delicious and creamy. My only regret is forgetting to order some peach cobbler, but I'll definitely be back to try it. If I could suggest one thing it would be to include cornbread in the menu, or to serve that with the meals rather than sandwich bread.
