My husband and I were heading home from an appointment and passed La Plaza Fiesta - we did a U-Turn to head there immediately! The interior is very cute with bright colors and lots of natural light. Behind the bar is a Día de los Muertos mural and in one of the dining areas is an adorable neon sign that says "Feed me tacos and tell me I'm pretty" LOL We were seated and the service was great from the get go - always refilling drinks, making sure we understood the menu, and overall just being pleasant. The complimentary chips and salsa, along with a dip that is almost like a spicy mayo - were all great. We also ordered the cheese dip for our chips and that was SO flavorful and tasty. I love a good dip! For our mains, I had the street tacos with steak for the protein. The steak itself was a little flavorless, but the accoutrements around the tacos made them alright. My husband had the steak chimichanga, and he agreed that the steak wasn't super high quality or maybe just not very well seasoned. The chimichanga was huge, and was topped with a white cheese sauce - so there was flavor there. But I wish the steak itself had been seasoned or had a little more flavor. I would definitely return to La Plaza Fiesta for the awesome vibes and great staff - I'd maybe just choose a different protein and/or dish next time!

First trip to La Plaza Fiesta. Great lunch experience. Service was absolutely friendly the second we walked in. Must say look forward to going back to try some of the seafood items. Specially the whole crispy red snapper. For lunch I had the carnitas plate with a side of grilled Jalapeños. Huge serving for $16. Basically will get 2 meals out of it. Carnitas good juicy and tender. Loved the pico de gallo here as well. Delicious flavor. Will be back very soon.

Unfortunately didn't have a great experience. Quesabirria was very greasy & on the smaller side. Chori pollo said it was "smothered in queso" on the menu description. When it came, the queso was basically water which was very odd. Our food did get mixed up twice too so we had a very chaotic experience which doesn't help. Complimentary chips & salsa were very good. The inside was huge & cute. The vibes for us just were not there this time, but I know things happen. We will make it back for a second visit

Really teetering on three stars for this review but gave it four because of the amazing service. I ordered the house margarita and as you can see from the picture it was beautifully decorated. Quite tasty I must say as well. We enjoyed the chips and salsa that came complementary. I was super excited to try the ribeye fajitas. I do not know of any other place in Omaha that does ribeye fajitas. The meat was sliced thinly perfect for fajitas however, there was just very little flavor and they were surprisingly a bit dry. Almost like no seasoning at all was used. I don't think I've ever salted my fajitas, but I did this time. Luckily, there was a salt shaker on the table. It did at least give it some flavor. The onions and green peppers that came with it were cooked perfectly, but also tasteless. My dining partner didn't care for her meal much either. She just did not care for the taste of the red sauce. It reminded her a bit of barbecue sauce for some reason. I tasted it and it's not something I would've enjoyed either just personal preference on that. I'm sure others love it. I wish there were prices on the drink menu and because there was not I just stuck with a house Margarita, not knowing what everything else would cost. The restaurant was super clean and as I mentioned, the employees were over the top helpful.

This Mexican restaurant replaced El Vallarta adjacent to Half Price Books. Plentiful parking. I didn't notice any change to the interior. We were warmly greeted and asked our seating preference. I ordered the tamales meal: one pork and one chicken. Not three tamales as recorded. Hopefully they get that corrected. The plate includes beans, rice and pico de gallo. Very tasty. Loved the tangy verde sauce. Plenty of food. Our waitress was great in checking on us. Recommend

Excellent food with hugs portions! At the start, they brought out chips, salsa, and some kind of crema too. Great service even though they were busy. And it was fun that they'd decorated for Halloween/Day of the Dead.

Super attentive service, had people come to check on us during the meal three or four times. Food came out FAST, we ordered and drinks came out in about three minutes and food was at our table in under five minutes, piping hot and delicious! Had I known food was going to come so fast may have spaced out ordering drinks and food but better to get food promptly vs. having to wait forever! Chips and salsa is super flavorful, and you get a creamy dipping sauce as well that I enjoyed. Ordered a house margarita and they brought this out, said it was half off today and paid $7. Only complaint is that the drink menu had no prices. But the street tacos I had were amazing and will be back, I can see this being a new frequent stop for me!

Gabby was a wonderful waitress. She took great care of us. We got a margarita flight, plaza fajitas, and tableside guacamole. The food came out super fast, and the flavor was really good. Overall, great Mexican food at reasonable prices.

Clean atmosphere and nice service but food was basically unseasoned. The ground beef specifically had basically nothing added to it.

It was every bit as good as I had hoped. Shuck's knows seafood--and they know how to make dining fun. From their lively, engaging servers to their inviting atmosphere and unique menu offerings, everything comes together to create a memorable experience. Most importantly, the quality of the food consistently shines through. My wife and I ordered the Deep South Risotto, a delicious combination of fresh shrimp, Andouille sausage, and green beans tossed in a spicy, creamy risotto. We also enjoyed the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, featuring perfectly cooked teriyaki-glazed salmon served over a blend of brown rice and red quinoa with tender sautéed broccoli. Paired with Shuck's famously ice-cold draft beer, these excellent entrées made for the perfect lunch before heading over to Big Ten Baseball at Charles Schwab Field Omaha. If you're visiting Omaha and find yourself downtown, make time for Shuck's Fish House & Oyster Bar. Great seafood, great atmosphere, and great service--you won't be disappointed.

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

This spot was right by the hotel in Old Market, and we were early enough to get right in and grab a nice table (during happy hour, no less). The vibes are clean, nautical without being cheesy, and bright. The service was equally bright and helpful, and everything was flowing. On a super hot day, I had a Tom Collin's that was great and refreshing. Our group shared calamari with a top tier dipping sauce, an "aji verde" sauce that was new to me but I would buy it by the pint. We also shared their truffle fries and the side of mustard aioli was great as well. Best fries in a while. For my main, I got the blackened Mississippi catfish that was served over dirty rice, green beans, tomatoes, and a crawfish beurre blanc. It was as good as it sounds, I ate every bite on the plate. Okay, so let's recap: Amazing location? Check. Great service? Check. Good specials/happy hour? Check. Great food? Major check. Hard to top, I'll go here everytime I'm in the area and it was hard not to go back twice.

The complimentary bread came with a delicious olive-and-pesto dipping sauce. For our entrées, I ordered the Cod Imperial, and my wife had the Parmesan-Crusted Rainbow Trout. We finished the meal with pineapple cheesecake and mango crème brûlée. Everything was served promptly and at the proper temperature. My cod was cooked perfectly, and the lemon-and-caper sauce was very well balanced, with just the right amount of acidity. I also tried my wife's trout, and it was equally excellent. The Parmesan crust and the other ingredients came together beautifully. The side dishes were prepared to the same high standard as the entrées. The broccoli was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The desserts were spectacular. The only drawback is that they are seasonal, so anyone interested in trying them should visit soon. They are definitely worth it. Located just north of Dodge at 108th St., the restaurant is conveniently situated with a large parking lot and plenty of space for easy access. The restaurant takes reservations, but I had no challenge arriving mid afternoon for my first visit. I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. I was presented a fabulous menu plus specials, which made a hard decision even harder. Offering New England fare, I cannot recall since my childhood on the East Coast, where I saw clam strips on the menu, let alone freshly prepared on site. Cooked to perfection and offering a delightful twist, as the clam strips were served with traditional tartar and Chinese sweet-and-sour sauce. I was offered a complementary taste of their cornbread, prepared by the in-house pastry chef, which was by far the best cornbread I've ever enjoyed. The Portuguese fish stew offered a fabulous Bouillabaisse with plenty of muscles, shrimp, and clams as well as chorizo to fill me up! A full bar, plenty of beers on tap, and a lovely wine list offers great pairings with all the menu items. With their anniversary celebration, there will be specials offered, keep your eyes peeled on their website for menu items and wine offerings through the end of the month.
