Pretty sure I have found my hairdresser that I'm gonna stick with and trust. Lida transformed my hair after It was fried and I had a horrible balyage done at another salon. Lida has such a sweet, calm, energy. She listens carefully and did my hair exactly like the picture I showed her. She is really skilled. My hair to begin with was in a tricky situation and she strategically brought it back to life and made sure I had very less damage as possible. She told me a lot of tips on taking care of my hair I didn't know about and didn't pressure me to buy a whole bunch of expensive products like a pyramid scheme which was something I experienced at my last salon. Instead, she simply told me what products to use. Really genuine and down to earth stylist. And the price was incredible I was shook. Only cost me about $200. The other salon was charging me atleast 350+ for something like this per session. Hello. I look at reviews but just think people can be very critical. But I chose to leave one because of this particular salon. i used a Groupon and thought I found a little treasure in LUX looks. Lily was my stylist and while it was apparent she was fairly new I thought she did a great job. Then I tried to cash out. Katrina took over the transaction. Didn't really know how to check me out. Then became belligerent, foul mouthed, and insulted my shoes (of all things). She tried to get more money out of me. My Groupon was $135 for a $225 service. They wanted $75 more. After I already cashed out and tipped $30. was a bday gift and should have been a wonderful way to spoil myself. My stylist lily and I ended up in tears. Horrible horrible situation. I got a Groupon for Christmas for cut, oil treatment, and full balayage. I have long thick curly hair and saw the fine print of potential extra charges due to length and texture. To my surprise it was only $20 extra , which is a steal compared to some places that make me pay at least double for any coloring services. My hair turned out great and I love it ! The atmosphere was clean, friendly, and professional. I was offered water and coffee and moved around so I could watch tv throughout my visit. They're alright. Had a Groupon from them once from a friend...I liked them. Thought they did a decent job. Got another Groupon from the same friend a year and a half later. The stylist got piss saying "It's supposed to be for new clients" I apologized....said I checked before coming in and it never said anything on the Groupon. After apologizing the lady continued you to lectured me...Honestly wanted to walk out, but she had already started to cut my hair. Even though she was rude I still tipped her like 60 dollars. I had not had my hair cut in close to two years and I have never had it colored. I decided to try something new, taking off quite a bit of length for a long bob and balayage highlights. Irma did an AMAZING job! I love my hair color, Irma was able to get me the slightly lighter tones I wanted without getting too blond and the cut is so perfect! I'm definitely a hair styling novice... with longer hair in the past I typically keep it in a bun except for special occasions. Irma showed me some quick styling tips and introduced me to a new product to add volume to my fine hair. This was my first time here and Irma made me feel so comfortable and at home! She is very friendly and fun to talk to, and this review is coming from someone who usually just sits quietly in a salon chair without much to say. Brazilian wax: skin ripped off. This was the most painful waxing experience of my life. I have been getting Brazilian waxes for over a year and love them. This was the first one I've had in Michigan since moving from out-of-state and it was horrible. The wax they use is thin & cheap. The technician let's the wax dry for far too long and goes back to rip it off after it's been sitting for awhile, ripping skin off in the process. Currently icing the skin and have neosporin coating the red, wax burnt areas where skin was ripped off. It's unfortunate I have to leave this review - the staff was so friendly but seriously, for the sake of your lady parts (and sleeping through the night without stinging pain down there), do NOT go to this salon for bikini or Brazilian waxes. read more

Took a picture of haircut I wanted and the hairdresser would not listen to me at all...I told her didn't want my hair cut short. She continue to cut the back which now looks like a boy haircut in the back, short in the front. Throughout the hair cut I said I don't want it short, but she continued. Lucy was my stylist and did such a wonderful job of choosing a color that was subtle and flattering, and the cut and style she gave me are beautiful! The lady that cut my hair was very nice, but I had an appointment and she was still working on her previous client when I arrived. She cut my hair for ten min, then left me sitting there for 20 min while she finished the other client. But that's not so bad. My haircut is awful. When I got home I used my flat iron and one side was longer. I called and they had me come back in and recut it a bit. I have not the most great vision so it's my fault that I didn't check it carefully when I left because it's still crooked, which I verified with my husband and best friend. I called and spoke with the owner. I asked for a partial refund, she said no. I asked if I could at least have my ten dollar tip back and she said I'd have to ask the stylist that cut my hair. So, pretty much the worst customer service I've ever had and now I need to go elsewhere to fix my crooked hair. read more

Irma performed microblading on me, and it was a tragic mess. I should have known from the start when she just eyeballed the levels and arches of my eyebrows instead of doing any measuring or making sure they were even. (Spoiler alert -- they were not.) She first outlines your brows with short hash cuts -- they look NOTHING like real hairs, even though looking like real hair is the point of microblading. Instead, I ended up with short hash lines on the perimeter of my brows that unfortunately haven't faded in the least. Added to that, the other cuts she made are extremely thick and in odd directions, again not at all real-looking like they're supposed to be. And, of course, the eyebrows are wildly uneven and misshapen. And this doesn't even go into her constantly answering the phone and scheduling clients during your procedure, like the fact you're getting cuts into your face isn't at all important, so you can wait on her. I go for a tattoo removal consultation tomorrow. I've given this several months to see if it would fade or I'd get used to it, but I can't get used to screwed up eyebrows. I even consulted a better-recommended aesthetician who said they were so bad there's nothing she could do to help, and recommended tattoo removal, and apologized on Irma's behalf because someone with so little skill should NOT be performing services like this that cannot be hidden when they're so terrible. read more

Had such a positive experience at Lux Looks! I found the place through Groupon, and they were able to fit me in on the same day. My stylist was Tiffany. She did such an amazing jobs mixing colors and I left with a beautiful balayage red color. She even stayed late to finish up my hair when it was the night before Thanksgiving.
