I hadn't been to a salon in over two years and finally decided to make an appointment at Tacari with Brittanie. My hair was very long, fine and super straight (slippery) and I had been wearing it in a ponytail forever. Being 68 years old I got tired of trying to style it and basically gave up. Upon arrival I moved that the salon was clean and the staff very friendly. I was offered a choice of beverages while I waited. The wait wasn't long before Brittanie took me to the chair and we talked about my hair and issues I have styling. Off we went to the wash basin then on to the cutting. I got a very precise haircut - not too short and super sharp! Brittanie was so nice and she really listened and made very good suggestions. Needless to say I'm very happy with my new bob and definitely recommend this salon and stylist! I look forward to frequenting my new salon! read more

Tacari Salon is conveniently located in downtown Plymouth with plenty of free parking. The interior of the salon is gorgeous, and the staff is friendly. My blowout was OK but not the best I've ever gotten. The price is pretty good, though, and half the cost of what I paid for a blowout at a downtown Detroit salon, although the blowout I received at the Detroit salon was significantly better. You get what you pay for. If you sign up for Tacari's email list, you can get discounts and free travel-size products. There is also a rewards program where 100 Points = $1. As this is near my home and the price is reasonable, I would consider returning, but I'd request that a flat iron is used in addition to a blow dryer to smooth out the frizzies. read more

It's so hard to find someone you trust especially when it comes to hair and nails. I was so lucky to find Kim on Instagram and all her beautiful nail work.... so I booked an appointment. Kim is Uber busy so it took me some time to get in... no big deal! Totally worth it! I came in for a gel manicure and some nail art and was so happy. Kim is super sweet and definitely has a passion for what she does. My nail appointment started with removing my current nail polish and a dry manicure. Dry manicures are awesome. Only have had them in Michigan. Totally does the trick to make your cuticles nice. I came in with an idea for my holiday nails. I showed Kim a picture and she was on top of it. She gave me color options, which was fans-tactic. Super happy to find a new nail tech! read more

Plymouth's hottest new salon is actually one of Plymouth's oldest salons. The place recently changed hands and is under new ownership and let me tell you, the change is like night and day. Conveniently located right on Forest with plenty of parking, Tacari has been pretty much gutted and refreshed. Think extreme makeover salon edition. We were invited here for their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and were given the chance to look around and sample some of their services. What was once a drab and dark space has been transformed into something bright and inviting. Prices are very reasonable for area and Carrie - one of the new owners is an excellent stylist. Tried a haircut and a pedicure two weeks later. Haircut - meh. Didn't really look any different - I jazzed it up myself with texturizing and layers (what I wanted in the first place) and now it looks great! Pedicure - she tried to correct a smudge she made putting on the slippers but it still didn't look right - massage for legs not really a great massage. Not too impressed for the most part, will be trying a new place next time. read more

Lame. First visit - LOVED my haircut & style. Second visit - the stylist who did such a great job is gone. Okay, new stylist and she does a good job and I'm overall pretty satisfied. Third visit, now the second stylist is gone too. Sigh. The third stylist does an 'ok' job, nothing to write home about. Fourth visit, since I wasn't really impressed with the 3rd stylist I ask for someone different. MISTAKE!!! I walked in the door at 2 mins before my appointment. Receptionist took my name, checked me in, directed me to take a seat, got me a cup of water and I checked my phone for a few mins. 4th stylist comes out, introduces herself and directs me to sit in her chair. We consult for a few mins and then over to the wash area. Very quick wash (TOO HOT) then back to her chair. She cuts, burns my hair (hey stylist, my hair is smoking...) and sends me off to pay. I am out the door and back in my vehicle in less than 35 mins. When I get home and style my own hair, I realize why so quick - the haircut is CRAP!! One side is significantly different (face frame) than the other side. I return to TRY to get it balanced but not much better. Since 4th stylist essentially chopped a chunk on one side, I need to let it grow out. I was offered and accepted a refund. Will I return? NO NO and NO!!! I should have 'NOPED' out of there when I found that the 2nd stylist was gone or maybe after the third (meh) haircut but definitely won't pay $$ for a Fantastic Sam's quality cut. read more
