Wish I could turn back time and never step foot into this salon!! I went here 5 times. First time to go from blonde highlighted hair to platinum blonde. Each time after was a root touch up. First time it was fine, my hair wasn't platinum but it was a nice blonde and I didn't have much breakage so I decided to go back. Second time my roots had an obvious yellow band. They kept telling me that I have to go in before the 6 week mark so my hair won't have that band. Which I did! Third time my roots were white and the rest of my hair was much darker. After this session I noticed pretty obvious breakage near my bangs. Fourth time again a yellow band. And the fifth and final time I went there they burned off most of the hair in my crown area!! I don't know y I kept going back!! I figured she's a "blonde specialist" she must know what she's doing, after all several insta famous girls/bloggers go to her. WRONG! Unless ur an insta model or have some type of following they WILL mess up ur hair because they don't care. Stay away!! I reached out to them -no reply. I went to several stylists but no one will touch my hair because it's soo DAMAGED. One even said that in some sections of my hair 50% had broken off! This is what happens when a salon is over booked, greedy, and the "specialist" doesn't even TOUCH your hair. She just walks around talking her head off and trying to sell whatever new janky service their offering at her "med spa." If you can't tell, I'm pissed. Pretty sure I'm not the first or last they did this too - I'm honestly considering taking some kind of action against them for the emotional distress and money I've spent on treatments/extensions trying to fix the damage they did (after they already charged my half a grand! Lianne, my specific colorist and stylist, has never had me leave a highlight appointment with a single fried hair. I once came in with blue hair from a failed box black hair dye experiment the day before an event, and she completely fixed it for me. She truly is incredible. I have very fine, delicate hair and have done highlights for so long (I was bored of it years ago but thought it was my only option to keep my hair from falling out). Finally I found some where that can give me a modern blonde color without completely damaging my hair. I also struggled with extensions, finding the right kind that wouldn't pull out my hair. I used clip ins, I tried a sow in, and couldn't do ktips because of my hair texture. Monroe offers the best tape ins and they last forever! I have no idea how these people have any business. There is one lady here that is apparently a "blonde specialist" lol more like frying specialist. I went to this lady with almost all my natural hair. I had hair that reached my lower back, and trust me when they were finished with me, it looked like i got a big chop (without an actual haircut). Mind you, 1 "hair stylist" and 2 assistants were running around the whole salon assisting multiple people, not one or two or three, but at least 6 other clients. She put in color remover 2 times and each session was an hour. After the color remover treatments, she proceeded to wash out my hair, and bleach it one time for 2 hours. It took her about an hour applying it to the bottom half of my hair going to another client and coming back to apply to the rest of my hair. She left it in for about an hour and checked it once and said "it's ready jan" lol ya ok. They pulled those plastic wraps PLASTIC WRAPS out my hair and washed it with olaplex. They charged me $380 for the 2 color removers, bleach, toner and blow dry. She told me to come back in 2 days because that's when she had her next available appointment. Being the ignorant person who trusted this salon, i went back. Behold, she bleached my hair not once for 1 hour, but twice. She applied the bleach the same way as described before, half mine, half blow drying another client, cutting someone else's, saying "sorry were so booked" and coming to finish applying mine. Same process, 2x. The toner she applied to my hair literally looked olive green, like pond water. And the next 3 inches of my hair looked a bit like honey blonde, the next bit after that had a green tint again and was soooo stringy(looked like cup noodles) then the tips were yellowy blond that she applied toner to make it a bit ashy. So i had a range of olive green mossy pond color, then honey yellow, then a green/grey cup noodle color, and tips ashy blonde. Charged me $400 for 2 bleach sessions, olaplex, toner. They didn't even dry it because the damage was so bad they probably didn't want me to see them frying off my hair. So they can say that i burned it while drying at home or something g I went in asking for dark brown shadow root with balayage. Basically a blended ombré. It probably would've looked better if i did it at home myself. Besides the horrendous colors, my hair was fried. The middle section was falling off at the slightest touch, and wouldn't dry for at least 3-4 days. The roots and ends were dry but the middle 5 inches was mushy and like stretchy. I've cried so many times out of frustration that my hair wouldn't dry on its own anymore. Final words: do yourself a favor and book a few one on one sessions with a PROFESSIONAL and caring stylist that will give your their undivided attention. Don't look at those deceiving pictures she posts. All those people's hair is dry and breaking off. one of the worst experiences I've had in my life. Haven't been to a salon ever since. Attention, anyone who has been BLONDE SHAMED! Yes blonde shaming is a thing , especially when you have dark/black hair. Are you CRAVING that blonde look? However when you tell your hairdresser you are met with "the look" and instead of golden locks you get a 30 minute lecture about how "bad" it is for your hair and how it "will not be possible" to achieve what you are looking for! I mean , they actually make you feel bad for wanting what you want! Well friends .. look NO further . I have finally found the QUEEN OF BLONDE! Suzy is a dream come true. She really LISTENED to me and made it her mission to make me happy & finally get me to the level of blonde I have been dying for; all the while preserving the integrity of my hair. (Seriously my hair was healthier leaving than when I walked in , how does she do it !) I was there for 5-6 hours and in that time I underwent MANY treatments. They do NOT play around. Yes, Suzy has several assistants however she is extremely involved and was constantly checking on me and my hair and they ran everything by her to get direction on next steps. I felt SO taken care of! My hair is naturally black and I've been undergoing foils and highlights and toning for the past couple years so I had a lot of color correction to do but Monroe Salon nailed it in ONE visit. Suzy, the head colorist, does an *amazing* job to say the least! I had dark virgin hair and was super worried about coloring it but she made the whole process pleasant.
