I have been going to Marina (eyebrow threader) since I was 12 years old. She originally worked from home before moving into a salon, and over time her prices increased--which I understood and continued to support because she was the only person I trusted with my eyebrows. Unfortunately, my experiences with her professionalism have been very disappointing. There was one appointment where I arrived only 10 minutes late. I was told to wait, which I was fine with, but I ended up waiting over an hour while feeling unwell. I eventually had to cancel another appointment I had that day. After asking if she could still take me, she said no and told me to reschedule. My mother left a review about that incident. About a year later, I decided to return because I wanted to give her another chance out of loyalty. She personally confirmed my appointment with me via text. I drove from Granada Hills to Glendale as a new driver, only for her to say upon arrival: "Because you wrote a bad review about me, I will not be threading your brows." Not only did she refuse my confirmed appointment, but she also went around the salon telling others that I had left her a bad review and came running back as I was walking out of the salon. Very childish. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. I truly dislike leaving negative reviews, especially because Marina was very kind in the beginning and I trusted her for years. However, refusing service over a past review--after confirming an appointment--is deeply disappointing and embarrassing behavior for a professional. I even spoke with the owner, who said each worker is self-employed and manages their own clientele, so it seems this kind of behavior goes unchecked. She should be checked. Very unprofessional experience again . My daughter booked and confirmed an eyebrow appointment here. When she arrived, the lady name is MARINA refused to do the service, saying it was because we left a previous honest review. This is retaliation against a customer's feedback and is completely unacceptable. Appointments should be honored, not cancelled out of spite. Henry charges almost two-three times more than any comparable hairdresser in the area, and in return, you will receive mediocre work and average service!! DO NOT go to LILIYA in this salon, she does a very poor job with the hair and if you point it out during the process, she gets agitated and starts getting angry and throwing things around. During the process, she would take a picture of the hair and show it to point out how bad the other hairstylist have done. Two days later, I messaged her and sent a picture of how bad the result of my hair is and she refused to fix it and started gaslighting and stating the problem is with me and she did what she could. I think like other places Henry rented his chairs to different people but he needs to supervise the whole salon. After some bad experiences I decided to talk about it here so people who want to go there, be extra careful. Jackie is the lady I want to write about. 1st they charge a lot. She's not on time. You have to wait at least 30 minutes for her to start your hair. 2nd when she's working on your hair, she works on others, too. Some months ago she burnt my hair while she was doing highlights because she didn't check my hair on time to wash them.( she was working on some one else's hair) My mom has to wait for a long time every time she was there and Jackie doesn't do her hair and she has someone working for her. But we are paying the same amount of money. Today Jackie mixed the color but the assistant dye my mom's hair and it was a wrong color. My mom had highlight from before and because of their mistake they had to dye it again to a dark color and all her highlight was ruined. Read before you go. Period. I can't even begin to say how disappointed I am. I'm not one to speak up because usually it ends with a fight. Long story short, I have been getting my eyebrows done at this location for a while now. I decided to ask Henry how much it would be for an ombré. He said $300. I made an appointment and a few hours later he charges me $420. My hair DOES NOT look ombré and he charged me $420 for on top/face highlights. The rest of my hair is dark. I don't understand what he did and or why he charged so much. I Only come here to see Ninette for my eyebrows. She has been doing them for over 5 yrs & does a great job threading & tweezing them. Although it is a hefty$20 I only go once every 3 months or 4. So it is ok in my price range. It could be cheaper but oh well upper lip(threading) is always included with the eyebrows The place is very chic & fancy It is Persian Armenian owned with all kinds of music playing from Persian, Armenian, Arabic , disco, trance, etc... It is very intimidating when you walk in. So much going on all the time. I'm sure the place is pricey as well for getting your hair done. Yelp needs to have an option for zero stars. Coming from someone with so much respect, I feel like I have to get get this off of my chest after a month by posting a real review about my horrible experience. Roxy claims to be such a professional hairstylist and a part of the matrix team. You should be extremely thankful for social media for allowing you to get where you are now, not because of what you think you know you are doing. Also, you should be thankful for your assistants that are going all the work for you. Some hairstylists are truly licensed to create but, you are licensed to humiliate. Not only do you have a very poor manner of how to speak to clients in front of other people but, the way you handle a situation that you can't seem to want to admit to is the main reason why I am writing this review. My hair will grow back and healthier and the amount I spent on getting my hair done in the past 15 years is chump change to what you charged me. It's not enough the 5 hours of my valuable time I lost in the salon along with my cousin being there with me but, here is another 10 minutes of my time you can have. Learn how to do your craft right or don't do it at all. Hair is not like clothing where if you don't like it you can just take it off and change. If you really had passion and an eye for doing the job you would completely understand my level of frustration. I came by you 3 years ago for a very easy simple service that didn't require any color/bleach. Hence the reason I returned to you this time for a correction. You can't tell me you turned me away when here I am writing a review about how you ruined my hair. I have never seen a pro do such a thing. Good thing your assistant Mari was kind and was much more considerate to my feelings than you were. How can you ignore a client knowing the situation and focus on doing a photo shoot of another clients hair when you have 3 assistants to do that for you? Aren't you the main stylist that should be concerned about your clients hair? THAT PROVES YOU'RE ALL FOR SHOW! Iyou ruin a clients hair after risking the process make sure you do something nice in return to keep that client from either coming back or just like I am, SPEAKING UP. The least you could have offered in return was a treatment seeing my hairs condition. I came to you on February 8 for a consultation and you booked me to come back on February 12. I waited 45 minutes to get my hair started on. You took my before picture/video which lasted longer than you applying "high lift" on my dark strands. My head was burning from the level of heat from from the heater which I wish I never sat under after seeing how my hair started breaking off. At the shampoo bowl you took a glance at my hair while Mari was rinsing my hair and you said my hair pulled up red. DUHHHHH! I told you I had used redken eq shades onyx to cover up my red hair 5 months ago. Why would you even bother putting me in that situation? I knew I was going to pull red but, I thought you would deliver the service more professionally from what you post on your Instagram. It's true when they say "DONT BELIEVE WHAT YOU SEE ON SOCIAL MEDIA." Now here is the best part of that day... I come to sit in the chair and my hair is all breaking from the ends, orange with a few blonde highlights from what I previously already had done to my hair before walking into the salon. And FYI I was more satisfied with the highlights I had gotten done by the other stylist than what you did! Now whoever is reading this, keep in mind my hair is already super short and the fact that I can't cut it any shorter, having breakage and the COLOR is a nightmare. Roxy doesn't care that my eyes are filled up with tears and I look like I'm about to have a nervous breakdown. Instead she tells me that I have to leave the salon looking like that and go back for another session in a few weeks which means it's another $2-400. WHO DOES THAT? Is that even normal? I asked to get it colored black right there and than. Eventually Mari put medium brown toner on my hair which means I went to the salon to go lighter and I left with olive tint brown hair color. Not even a descent blow dry or SORRY I'll only charge you for the products used. 5 hours and $220 later I came home in a very bad mood to dye my hair black and add tape extensions to my hair all by myself to make myself feel better from that horrible experience. The messages that were written to me after I told her about how I felt was beyond unprofessional. Matrix, Olaplex, Redken, Truss... no matter what professional products you use, it doesn't mean you are a professional hairstylist. I found out about this salon on IG. I have a clip in extensions and I needed them trimmed. So they can look more natural and blend better with my natural hair. Henry is wonderful. He asked me how I wanted to cut my hair and did it exactly how I pictured it to come out. The price of my haircut was a little more than other salons in the area, But it was worth every penny! I'm going to Roxy for touching up my roots/correction. My natural hair is jet black and she is able to get a nice and even platinum color out of it. Her price is reasonable. If you go to her according to her schedule suggestions for root touch-up (every 5-6 weeks), she charges $200. Otherwise price would go up as she has to spend more time and material. This star is for Roxy. I was on a hunt for a hairdresser to go lighter and do highlights on my hair. I came across Roxy's page on Instagram. I liked her work and I decided to go in for consultation. She tested the highlight on my hair and told me that I will get the look in one session. When I went to my appointment, she told me that she had to leave for an appointment and she made me wait 60 minutes to be exact. She then apologized for it which I understand. Life happens. When she finally returned, she started the process. I was happy and excited. Next thing I see is my hair turning orange! It was so bad that the client next to me noticed it and commented on it. She then stated "no one leaves here with orange hair". Not only my hair was orange with platinum highlights, it wasn't even close to what I've showed her! I was fuming and left the salon disappointed. I didn't want to make a scene. Instead, I texted her and told her about how unsatisfied I was. Instead of fixing this mess and leaving her costumer happy, she told me that she's sorry about it and she can't refund me! As if sorry could change the fact that she messed up my hair! I told her to fix this mess, but she told me that she can add more platinum highlights!! But what difference can that make when my hair is orange! She then started bragging and telling me that she could've charged more money (as if $500 wasn't enough) but she didn't! She shouldn't consider herself a professional whatsoever.
