I let Jada know that I needed something to slowly transition me and that I was open to suggestions. I've had jet black hair for quite some time. After living here for two years I figured it was time to finally have a local person to deal with my hair. I scoured yelp and instagram for weeks before deciding to try Luxe Hair by Jada. I easily made an appointment online. She offers great hours, including appointments on Monday (which is typically my only kid-free day). Parking was easy, but the instructions to the studio were key to finding it (it looks like just another condo). Jada was super nice and very thorough. I had about 6 inches cut off so it was definitely a dramatic change. However, I love it! The entire appointment lasted about 100 minutes. I left feeling fabulous! Jada is like my hair angel sent from above. I am really picky when it comes to hair stylist. I spent a lot time looking through Yelp reviews looking for someone I would feel comfortable CUTTING my hair. I know coloring and balayage are so popular these days that it is literally the only things being advertised so I never really know how great their cut skills are. I am so happy I found Jada, but really sad I found her as I'm about to move off the island. She's at Fine Line Studio in Pearl City. Parking is a little packed, but I managed to find a spot right in front of the salon. There's also an attendant in the lot that can help navigate you. The salon is not visible from street view, you'll have to turn in to the Pearl City Plaza (where Button Up Cafe is) and it's right behind it. I appreciate Jada explaining everything she does and why she does it so you know what to expect. She is very knowledgable and good at what she does, I completely trust her expertise. Like most finicky women, I have a difficult time trusting people with any beauty service. Specifically HAIR. Why? Because 1) it's time consuming 2) they could F it up and leave you with a botched bleach job 3) IT IS EXPENSIVE! I was excited to give Jada a try after seeing her transformations on IG. She really is a color correction wizard. From first meet- she was extremely friendly, super informative, easy to talk to and gave you a sense of comfort and security. She explained everything she was going to do before she did it (which is always appreciated). She gave me a price range up front and stuck to her word. She's particular with her work and really takes pride in her craft! After the first toning, she began drying my hair and showed me what it looked like. She asked if I was ok with the color or if I wanted it ashier. I said I wanted it ashier and she re-toned me! AMAZING SERVICE!! I've been to other salons where they wouldn't say anything until after or not at all. But Jada really wants you to feel happy when you leave her chair. She is an amazing colorist, an amazing beautician and has a genuinely beautiful heart. I would recommend her to EVERYONE!! BONUS: She's also gives a great scalp massage!! read more
