To be clear, Asia is 100% 5 stars all the way! The 4 star review is only to include the location and specifically parking. 5 Stars: Asia knows her stuff! I bought the 60 minute Treat Facial on Groupon to try out a facial (this is my first one), and she walked me through what she was doing ever step of the way. She focuses on rejuvenation not relaxation so some of the facial was quite tingly/stinging but in an awesome way! If you want to sit in a fuzzy robe with cucumbers on your eyes and flute music playing in the background then this is not your place. If you want to leave with glowing skin that continues to look better every single day then this is your place! Asia was running a bit late from a previous client so very graciously upgraded my Treat facial to include microdermabrasion to make up for the loss of time. WOW! What a gesture and made me feel just fine with starting a bit late. 4 stars: the building is a bit odd from the outside but they've made the inside super cute. Parking is street parking but most of the nearby streets are filled with driveways and places you cannot park so it was frustrating. Asia mentioned opening a space on Prytania St that would fix this totally! (As for all the folks with negative reviews, if you read the instructions on groupon and their website you wouldn't have run into any issues. Save yourself the headache and don't book an appointment here with Asia. She texted this morning to let me know that she wouldn't be able to accommodate my appointment that I made a week ago and and at least saved me the trouble of driving to her business! New to the area, I was trying to find a good nail salon and bought a Groupon. The Groupon requires you to make an appointment online however when you do it's really confusing on which manicure and pedicure or you're supposed to book. So I went ahead and made an appointment with a special note - Asia didn't read my note until this morning. In response she made no attempt to address this except to blame me - the customer and no attempt to accommodate! She simply canceled my appointment and told me that Groupon would give me a refund. After seeing some of the other negative comments I thought I should talk about my experience a few months ago. Overall, the hassle to get serviced here isn't worth it. Phone calls are never answered, the owner lies to customers, and the building itself is run-down. Check out Uptown Charm or Luxury Studio for an amazing experience worth the money!! :) Here's my review: If you are seeking professionalism, you are not going to get it here. As mentioned in other reviews, this is not a salon. It is a one-woman business in a rented out apartment next to a sketchy gas station. The quality of customer service will vary depending on Asia's mood that day. I cannot speak to the quality of work because I left before I could be serviced. As many other reviewers have stated, Asia constantly lies to save herself, and she tries to make negative experiences seem like the customer's fault. When I arrived for my wax, Asia thought I was getting my lashes done. She got upset because she needed more time to prep the wax. How is that possible when I booked online and pre-selected the service? It's not my fault that she is disorganized. During my visit, I was constantly told "I'm sorry you can't read the fine print," or "do you not know how to read?" Pro Tip- if you want to run a successful business, the customer is always right, especially when we actually are right. If this many people are having issues with your booking system because it is so tedious, maybe you should look at yourself before blaming your customers for everything. As I walked out due to Asia's attitude (I cannot stand people who lie to my face multiple times), she threatened to charge me for the full service. She said "I don't care, ima get yo money anyways!" She did not refund my money nor was I able to get Groupon to respond in a timely matter....I will just call this an expensive lesson learned. I had the best experience with Asia. I usually get a facial once a year, not as often as I should but they're just expensive and also never that great. This was not the case with Asia. I got a Groupon and went there this past weekend. First off, the shop is adorable and smells so nice. Asia is also incredibly polite, professional, and KNOWLEDGEABLE. I was blown away. Normally, the aesthetician just goes to town with scents and cucumbers or whatever. Asia asked me what issues I was having and then created a facial just for me. I feel the need to warn people about my experience here. The treatment table was extremely dirty and had obviously never been washed, it looked like layers of debris, eyelashes, glue, had accumulated over time, and it was completely crusted with salon debris. I can't understand how this woman owns a business. First off, the "salon" is in a run down house with bars on the window and no signs. When I arrived for my appointment she said she had someone else before me so I can wait another half hour. And when I got near her she smelled like marijuana. I told her I felt uncomfortable that she was high and would be near my face with hot glue and I left. Later that afternoon she charged my credit card for a "appointment cancellation/no show fee". I didn't cancel and I got to my appointment 7 minutes early. I called the number on the website and apparently got a receptionist. She apologized profusely for what happened and said she would get the charge taken off. But at 8pm that same night, I received a call from the woman who was supposed to do my lashes and she immediately started in with "what does it matter if you smelled pot"; "you can't report me, you can't call the police"; "I'm gonna get yo money anyway". When I asked to talk to the owner, she laughed and said "baby I'm the owner, I'm it". She also said "I wasted her time so I'm gonna waste yo money" and "girl you still wasting my time". So completely unprofessional. Customer service skills are non existent and coming to your place of business at 9 in the morning already high is probably not the best idea. read more
