I love all the girls that work there, and we all banter amongst each other, and the other clients as well. No more sitting in silence while I get my nails done!! Yay! I tried to give this place a chance after hearing good things about and after following them on Instagram. However, it just isn't worth the money. I usually get gel polish on my nails but for some reason their gel only last 24 to 48 hours before chipping and peeling off. I don't know about you but I don't have time to be running back and forth to the nail salon every 2-3 days to have my nails fixed. The quality is subpar and the services are overpriced. read more

I used to LOVE this place. It's close to home, friendly employee and I always left loving my nails. Unfortunately, my past two experiences have been less than satisfactory. I usually came in as a walk in but would always call ahead of time to make sure it wasn't busy. So I call In one day and the lady told me they didn't have any openings for that day, but to come in close to opening time because there's usually availability. So I go in the next day at 10 am and the lady at the counter tells me they switched to appt only, it's fine miscommunication, I get it no biggie. So I make an appt 3 weeks in advance so I can get a really nice pedi and refill for my birthday. So 3 weeks pass and I come in for my appt but the lady tells me I don't have an appt and asks if I ever got the confirmation. I told her I didn't. Another employee tells me my appt was yesterday. Okay, my bad on my part because I mixed up the days but I proceed to tell them I never received a confirmation for that day either. So they look into and it seems THEY put my phone number in wrong and it's a new system blah blah blah. I'm a very easy going person so whatever okay I'm trying to work with them and see if they have a spot they could squeeze me in for the next day and the lady tries to tell me I'd be charged $30!!! Must I give a star? Deserving of not even one star. Where do I begin I made my appointment two weeks in advance for 5pm on May 9,2014. I got to my appointment on time even signed in and waited for my friend who was 15 mins late. When she arrived they were very rude almost denying her service, but they changed their mind telling her she would have to wait after the walk ins which made no sense since I still had not been serviced. A half an hour later one of the girls called my name and ask me to pick a color when I went to show her how I wanted my nails she sat down and serviced another women! Seriously??? I just came in for my first walk-in with Linda and got a gel manicure and pedicure. The pedicure is sub-par, she was a little TOO gentle for my liking. The gel manicure on the other hand, is fantastic...definitely the best I've ever gotten in Philly, she will be my new manicurist hands down. Staff was all very sweet and very sassy! Don't waste you're money! I use to go here when they first opened it wasn't bad at all. I guess times have changed. Their only good for their designs! Not only did I wait a hour in a half to even be seen, the girl did not listen about the shape that I wanted. All she worried about was talking to her co-workers the whole time. He didn't listen to me about what shape and length I wanted my nails. He cut my one finger so short, I had to get a tip put on it because it no longer matched the length of my other nails. I wanted a simple design on my natural short nails the only one color involved black and the natural part of my nail. TERRIBLE!!!! Do Not Go Here!!! This is the WORST nailery I have ever been too. My 1st and only experience was terrible. I called before I left work on a Saturday at 3:30. I work 4 blocks from the salon. They told me that it was hardly anyone there. I asked could I make an appt and they said No, we dont take appts on a Saturday. Fine!! I left work and arrived @ 3:50. ALL 7 technicians had a client and it was 3 ppl waiting (I thought u said u werent busy).But whatever, the sign on the door says u close at 6. I signed in and she asked what I was getting. I said refill, pedi, & eyebrows. The rude owner says "Idk if I can take u". Excuse me? After sitting 5 mins, she says ok. I waited for an hr and a half and finally got in the chair. While getting my nails done, I asked the technician was she doin my pedicure. She says to the owner "Lisa, u know she getting a pedicure". And with attitude, the owner says "No, we dont have time. only a polish change." RUDEST NAIL OWNER EVER. She turned down 6 ppl between 4 & 6 pm. I never experienced a nailery that turned down people 2 hrs before closing..Needless to say, I only got my nails done after waiting an hour and a half. The owner is A BITCH!!! My first visit was awesome. Although my gel full set of two weeks was lifting it was a Great vibe. And could have been a simple fix... My second experience was awful. I understand they take walk ins and cut off at a certain time, so I called ahead to make sure it was OK to come to get a refill at a particular time. I was told yes. Now, if you aren't sure of the traffic and you may turn me away, that should have been noted and I would have made an appointment. However, after arriving from center city in a cab to get there on time. I was greeted in a nasty way and was told that they weren't taking anymore customers. Cool, but one, you could let me inside instead of cracking the door and poking your head out. Don't be rude. It's about great customer service. I could have been told in a respectful way that they are full for the night and I can make an appointment or come back another day. Me and my coworker went for 2 mani-pedi first of all the chairs didn't work when we were getting a pedicure on top of that they were smoking & and smelled as if something was on fire during the whole 10 minute pedicure they were smoking. the nail tech kept stopping to see what was going on they couldn't figure it out so they just unplug the chair. after that they just complaint about their contractor messing up there electrical massage chairs. besides from that the lady who did my nails was sitting next to the owner. she was very rude & ghetto. I paid $23.00 for a pedicure that should of been $5. they have power 99 playing in the background in kids in a front playing around and making a lot of noise. this place is unbelievable I haven't been to a nail salon like this since I was a teenager in the hood. Never again. don't waste your time people all the other reviews are lies I think they wrote them themselves. needless to say we didn't finish our services we end up just paying for the pedicures and leave it out. This salon is great if you are into designs. They are ahead of the game when it comes to trends in nails. The best time to go to the salon is early in the week at odd times. Anytime other than that the wait can be hours and the salon is pretty tiny. I've gotten my nails done a few times by Leah and was pleased each time. The owner is friendly and is normally up front about wait times and if they are just not taking any more clients because they are overcrowded. I can appreciate that. I had my pedi done before by another woman (not the owner or Leah) and left much to be desired. It was flat out terrible...she was fine with a low quality job and I had to point out mistakes that she was willing to leave as is. I will never go to this lady for anything. With that being said if you want trendy nails make an appointment and you will likely be pleased. The prices are a bit cheaper than most other salons I've been to but once you start getting designs it adds up very quickly. If you are looking for a spa like relaxing experience where you can get in and out this is not the place. If you want to have celebrity level designs this is your place. read more

Giving this salon 2 stars only because I do actually like my nails. I found this nail salon on Instagram and I loved their designs so I thought I'd come and get my nails done for valentines day. I made and appointment for 10:15 by email on valentines day I was outside of the shop from 10 to 10:30 and no one was there so I left and emailed the lady and asked her if they had any other appointments for later on during the day since I was just there and they were closed. Someone responded telling me "we are opened." To me that was disrespectful I WAS JUST AT THE NAIL SALON AND NO ONE WAS THERE. I did not email back, however now I am here to get my nails done for my birthday trying to give them a second chance. This time I did not make an appointment so I knew I'd have to wait. I walked in the salon and the owner asked me what I needed done so I told her a full set she said "put your name on the list but I don't know" I've been sitting here waiting for an hour and 30 minutes. This is ridiculous and very unprofessional. If I'm not impressed with my nails I will not be returning to this. Waiting and hour and 30 minutes wasn't a problem because I understand clients with appointments come first, but it was just very unprofessional. I had a super botched hard gel full set from another salon and came to Luxe desperately needing them fixed... I had heard great things so I thought I'd give them a try. Leann ended up taking me and did an AMAZING job. Really took her time with me and payed attention to detail. She was also super pleasant to talk to! It's been 3 weeks since I got my nails done and I have no lifting, chipping, cracking, etc. they still look as great as when I got them done! Today i am going to the Shop for the 3rd time and my nails always are on point. If you are on instagram thats where i found Luxe Nails and if you see nothing but picture perfect work!!! I have been a Luxe Nails customer for over a year now. I am starting to rethink of giving these ladies my business. I always make appointments but when I arrive someone else is always being serviced in my time. It's always "I'll be with you or I'm almost done"...that turns into 15/20 mins. What is the purpose of booking an appointment when they clearly don't abide by time management, which shows lack of respect for clientele. They do beautiful work, but if you are looking for fabulous customer service this ain't it! The owner Lisa can come across as standoff-ish. She is talented but her lack of customer service & personality leaves little to be desired. I've watched her on several occasions be short with customers. At first I thought I was imagining things because I'm a stickler for customer service (it's my money!) I really like the outcome of my nails but I can't deal with the inconsistencies with time & unprofessionalism. I go to another salon for my pedicures because they aren't the bees knees when it comes to pedi's. I've even referred friends to Luxe but they weren't impressed due to time management. I can attest that the negative YELP reviews are WARRANTED. I had an appointment yesterday at 4pm and arrived at 4:10pm. I waited an HOUR bf I was serviced. The salon is VERY unorganized and the staff has a lot to learn about customer service. I hear several techs mention that they were done or would be done in 5min as walk-ins arrived. Really? What business philosophy is that? You let clients or potential clients know that "ma'am, we'll be with you shortly" or "is there any way we can give you an appointment tomorrow bc our salon is closing shortly." They have NO idea abt diplomacy. My technician, Leann, mentioned the ENTIRE time that she moved to Delco from Philly and how the wealthier tax base was the reason her sons' school was better. She went ON and ON to the point of bragging about that and her pool. Perhaps she didn't realize it was MY pedicure, MY time to decompress. I chose the jelly pedicure which she didn't completely wipe clean from my legs. She told me to put on my shoes bf she painted my toes. I literally sat there. There was absolutely NO way I'm willing to pay for a service and have to put on my strappy sandals in the midst of my pedicure. She did a BARELY a mediocre job painting my toes and sat me at the front table without the benefit of sitting under a dryer. I'm really shocked their still in business. I won't be back.
