I am only giving this review because of the service from the business. 1, scheduled a trip and agreed on a drop off time. Arrived on time and the business was closed. Looking through the window, inside the business was dog running around, not being cared for. 2. Walked to the back of the business and back door of business, rear door open and the dogs ran out to a small area. The rear area chain link fence was not the best secured. 3. Anyone could have entered through the gate and taken a dog. 4. Called business several times and left message with the phone turned off. 5. Looking inside the business, the crates for the dogs, look as if pieces of junk were put together and they made it from scrap metal. I would be very careful taking any animals to this place. Owner appeared nice over the phone, but the price wanted was extremely expensive considering the inside of the business. I had two cancel two of three plane tickets due to a family emergency. Although I purchased the insurance, it did not meet the criteria. The owner claimed to have an emergency, which hopefully it was and not bad business practice. Our cat was likely killed by a coyote. I found her collar in a backyard. There was no concrete evidence but I made the conclusion by discovering unpleasant things nearby. With over a week of pure depression, we got a few tips she may be alive nearby. We tried hard to locate her, but even the slight idea made us feel better. Even if it wasn't true. We wanted to try. Upon learning of our cats disappearance, Luxe Paws became extremely controlling and began harrasing my girlfriend regarding the cat. Luxe Paws fills a need we don't talk about in LA - helping stray and feral cats living on the streets. Next time you see a kitty outside, please stop and think. Is that cat really "allowed" outside - or is it lost? Is it fixed? Follow LP's Instagram or FB feed and you'll see them rescue lost pets, save strays from coyotes and get medical care to injured/starving cats. We have adopted two cats from Luxe Paws and have never had a better experience!! Luxe Paws is a dream to adopt from! They should probably raise their adoption fee also, it's really low. They are attentive and connected and I still send pictures of our kids to them to this day ! They make sure everything is a good fit and don't just disappear as soon as you take a kitty home. On a personal level TNR is really important to me and I LOVE that luxe paws is committed to saving cats and kittens off of the streets, instead of pulling from shelters. And committed so fully to spay neuter. It's also cool that they're a local group pulling from local streets. I know the intersection my cats came from and that is real local impact. I've also fostered cats for them a few times and can't say enough good here either. As soon as I realized my cat needed a breather, I was able to move the kitten I had out. I was first introduced to Lux Paws through social media 3 years ago and I saw the amazing things they were are doing to save cats and kittens on the streets of LA. At first I volunteered my massage services at their events to raise money for treatments. Soon after I then adopted my little kitten Molly and from there I've actually helped in a couple TNR's in my neighborhood. I come from a family very involved in animal rescue on the east coast, but when I moved to LA I found my apartment was surrounded by stray - unfixed cats that were continuously having new litters of sick and starving kittens. With no connections to animal rescue out here, I began calling around to many organizations looking for help with TNR (trap- neuter- return). Every place that I called either could not help, would not help, or their hoop jumping processes to TNR made it was impossible for your everyday working person to do any good for these stray animals. I am a dog rescuer so I know nothing about cats. I was called in one day to help 3 dogs and two cats that had been abandoned when their owner had packed up and moved away and just left them behind. I sprung into action and and found someone to take the dogs, and luckily the cats too. We were able to get all three dogs and one cat into my car to take them to the vet. When it came time to put the second cat in the crate, she panicked, scratched me bloody, and bolted! It had looked like perhaps she had been nursing, but the neighbor kids said they had taken all of her kittens. We looked and looked and could not find the missing cat or any kittens. The next day, the person who had originally reported the abandoned animals to me called and said "I saw the cat! And a kitten!!" And I immediately thought..."Great!! But now what? How do I catch them???" We tried and tried and finally realized we needed to bring in the big guns. I saw a recommendation for Luxe Paws in my neighborhood group. I called and left a message, which was returned right away by a lovely lady named Jackie, who jumped right in and found one of her volunteers to come and set up a trap. Jonathan sat out all day with his trap, waiting to get both momma and kitten. He finally managed to get mom, (which then Jackie had to set up an appointment at FixNation for me to get her vaccinated and spayed). But no sign of baby! She had disappeared! We waited three days and thought she was gone, or worse. But the kitten was finally spotted! He set up another trap and WHAM! We got her!! Not sure how she survived on her own for three days as she was only 5 weeks old. But she did. I was fostering mama and when kitten was brought to her, it was an exciting reunion for everyone! Mama and baby kitten have been adopted into a wonderful home together, but I will say that without the knowledge and determination and professionalism of Jackie and Jonathan and Luxe Paws, that reunion would have only been a fantasy in my dreams, instead of the joyful reality that it was. Luxe Paws is a fabulous group. I've had the pleasure to volunteer with them at some of their adoption events and was very impressed by their unique approach to adoptions and interacting with the community. In addition to holding adoption events at pet stores which is normally the tradition, they also hold events at local businesses such as book stores and specialty boutiques. Luxurious little kittens displayed in cute antique bird cages, complimentary wine spritzers, and baked goodies offered at reasonable prices to support their rescue efforts are just a few examples of the original approach to adoptions that this community group is taking. I've also had the opportunity to get to know some of the founding members and more about their philosophy. They feel that one's very own community is where the most impact can be made. They are concentrating on the Silver Lake area but are happy to give advice to anyone who asks and they do their best to connect people with others in their own areas. I like that Luxe Paws is trying to get as many animals off the street before they make it through a shelter's door and they place a huge emphasis on fixing our community cats and dogs so they don't continue to produce unwanted animals. If we each did our part to make sure the animals in our own neighborhood are spayed and neutered and that all adoptable animals find good homes then the pet population problem in L. A. would start to improve. I look forward to volunteering at more Luxe Paws adoption events in the future. Not only are they fun but you really feel you are making an impact. Bret Michaels the kitten was rescued, and is now happily in his forever home. Throughout the entire process, Jacquie was there to answer every question I had, and found him his forever home when it turned out my cats were just not having it with another kitten. We got our new best friend Sherbert a few months ago through Luxe and it was a very easy and pleasant process. Sherbert was staying with lovely foster parents who welcomed us into their home for our adoption meeting and let us visit for a while to play with him and get to know him. They shared what they had learned about him over the weeks they had him, and sent really cute photos of him so we could get a further glimpse into his personality and goofiness. It's reassuring to know that Luxe has a team of awesome fosters who provide safe and comforting homes while they transition from life on the street to life indoors. We met several fosters who all loved cats and showed tremendous enthusiasm and good will toward them and to us as potential adopters. Once we gave word that we wanted to adopt our boy we were able to take him home within a short time, and Luxe sent us a really handy cat care guide with some helpful referrals for vets and other services. We found our awesome pet sitter on there and we shop at the pet store from the list too. They equip you with what you need to be an informed and ready pet guardian. They will have your back! Luxe is doing challenging, important work with TNR and rescue, and they need loving homes for so many cuties and deserve our support. After the passing of my dear old kitties, I wanted to heal my heart by fostering cats in need. I was lucky that a co-worker directed me to Luxe Paws and the rest is history. Jacquie and her volunteers are a true powerhouse. It's amazing what they're able to accomplish with such a small team and with little funding, covered only by adoption fees and fundraisers organized with kind-hearted small local businesses. I've been following their work for almost a year now. My heart is healed thanks NOT ONLY to my two adorable, healthy, cuddly pair of kitten siblings adopted and the handful I've fostered through Luxe Paws, but because of SO much more. No judgement intended here, but I don't know of any other shelter or rescue organization addressing the core of the homeless cat issue AND running a localized adoption network. On-the-ground through TNR and working at the advocacy level to increase public funding for spay/neuter. I don't know how they - Jacquie in particular - do it. I just know that I'm proud to support their efforts every way I can. There are some adoption places in LA that are really judgmental or are a little bit out to lunch, but Luxe Paws is very down to earth. Jacquie will work with you until you get the match that is right for you. I appreciated the fact that they had so many bonded pairs available, which can sometimes be hard to identify on petfinder or other adoption search sites. Adopted a great cat from Luxe Paws. Took the cat home from the foster family for a two week trial but he fit right in with our other cat almost immediately. Decided to adopt him within a few days. Paid more than the adoption fee, the extra being a donation to Luxe Paws. Told we'd receive the cats medical records and info on getting him chipped. Have asked several times for the records over a several week period, been promised the records, yet nothing. Guess he'll have to start over with vaccines. I know Luxe Paws is a volunteer organization, but not sending medical records after adoption is sad. Sort of makes me regret the extra donation made. read more

I found both my kitties through Luxe Paws. They had rescued the kitties and taken wonderful care of them. They both are about a year old. Luxe Paws was amazing in answering all questions I had, offering very helpful advice on getting to know my new kitties and making things as comfortable as possible for them. She visited my house several times, to first introduce me to the kitties, the final adoption, but also to bring buy some extra toys for the kitties and to see how they were doing.
