I feel as if folks from the 1920s would think we'd really gone downhill if this was their baseline for travel decor. I love that this space has been transformed into an elegant hotel lobby and that you can work from here, or enjoy a coffee or beer while taking in the impressive ambiance of the space. Something I didn't love was the giant roach I saw scurry by, and also that you aren't allowed to bring in outside food or drink. I do get that they have a kitchen, but it's also the hotel lobby and I tend to think a hotel lobby should function as a gathering place and be a little more welcoming in that way. However the hot breakfast does not include fruit, which I always prefer: cut up cantaloupe, pineapple, berries. It was great! I used my $10 food card for an ooey gooey butter cake. Paid $4 with tip since it was $12. Every evening, they serve the best ooey gooey cookies ever! free! Marriott also loaded a $25 gift card to my account that expired soon, so I went next door to the Marriott and spent it on two bottles of water, a seltzer and a fruit cup and paid $4 extra. They sure do charge a lot for water! I heard there is a grocery store Shnucks near by but I didn't have time to visit.
