Definitely just OK. I've been getting my acrylic/gel sets there for the past couple months since I moved here because they're close and every time I've gone I've had to fix the shape of my nails with a file at home afterwards and the gel is never as good as I want it to be. It's not BAD by any means but for what you're paying to get them done every two weeks I'd like them to be better. I've had to point out glaring problems with the quality of the acrylic every time I've gone so they'll fix it before I get my polish down. Last time I went the tech cut me twice and I had scabs on my cuticles for a week, not cute. Also, getting your nails done shouldn't hurt, ever. I'm not "sensitive", your drill is being run too fast and hard if it feels like you're burning my nail when you're filing them especially with a layer of acrylic between the file and my nail. Going to be exploring other spots in the area. Have had much better. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. I was excited to see good reviews and when I got there the lady was rough from the start. I always get acrylic on top of my real nail to make then strong and gel color. This was a new set and she was filing so hard when my nails were very sensitive already from the removal. As she files she throws the file on her table and is not gentle or welcoming at all. I express that she was hurting me. Now come time to color, I love bubble bath by OPI. I know it's a natural look. She did 3 coats and it was so clumpy and I told her and did nothing until the end when I kept looking at them. Then she wanted to completely take it off and redo saying (it only takes 3 min to fix).. NO. You shouldn't have to redo if you would've taken your time and done them right. She did a full set and gel color in less then 30 min. My appt was 3:30 I got there right on time and left and was in my car at exactly 4pm. Disgusting attitude so unwelcoming. Do not waste your time here. It was a horrible experience, they didn't give me sandal slipons for my feet, put wax on my hands without the bags. Recently moved into the apartments across from Luxury Nails. I desperately needed a pick-me-up and hoped they were open Labor Day for a pedicure (they were, a huge plus). I called ahead and they were able to seat me for a pedicure right away. Upon seeing the prices listed, I opted for the Green Tea Spa Pedicure at $50 and I am so glad I did. Mi took great care of me. Being super sleep-deprived, I was a little less responsive than normal, but she treated me to a quick but quality pedicure spa service. The Green Tea Spa pedicure comes with the basic soak, cuticle & nail cutting, filing, callus removal, and massage, but is amped up with Green Tea heated sugar scrub, a massaging oil, hot stone massage, hot cream massage, and 5-10 minute paraffin wax treatment with a mask & hot towel. Love the nail shape I ended with; it didn't take her long, so at first I was concerned, but she knows what she's doing! I'm thankful for the extra attention paid to my calluses. The massages I received throughout the service were fantastic. Never had a paraffin wax treatment until today, but my feet are so soft and smooth I would definitely do it again. I think the extra $10 update from Spa to a Green Tea Spa package was worth it. Definitely recommend coming at an earlier time in the day; it was super relaxing due in part to having only a few other clients in the store. I stopped in last week to check out prices and it was so busy and noisy, I knew I wouldn't get the relaxing experience out of the spa service that I wanted. In all, the service took an hour from start to polish drying time. This was perfect for my schedule, and I don't feel the service was rushed or compromised. Happy with my polish choice (wish they had a few more options in salon) but the service and experience left me a happy customer, excited to return in a future visit. read more

This was my first time at this nail salon and I had a great experience. I went on my (late) lunch break from work and only had about 30 min to get my nails done. I got a gel mani and they did a little Minnie Mouse design for $5 more on two nails! The ladies that work there are very friendly and quick! Price was good too. Let's see how long this mani lasts-and if it pulls through for two weeks I may up my review to 5 stars. I would suggest maybe changing the music though-it's probably supposed to be relaxing but it was like bad elevator music that made me sad at the same time! Crappy nail jobs with rushed service seemingly to only get through with you so they can move on to the next person is what you will receive here. I have given more than enough business to these people only because they are close, but not anymore. The Mosaic District not but two miles away has two wonderful spots. read more

Sadly, I waited 1 hr, only to be trapped in a chair in water so long the water got cold. I was then completely ignored until I took my feet out of the water. They move slow too and watch tv while they work on you...so if you're in a rush don't bother. They kept saying "we will do it all in 30 min" meaning they'd have me out and polished in 30 min....then I sat another 15 min only to be out of time and had to go. The girl did callus removal and cut my toe. I stated that i was leaving don't bother with color. She goes "$30." Major rip off !!!! I paid $30 to let my feet sit in cold water and to get cut. I ended up seeing a Podiatrist and had my two great toe nail pulled out immediately. The recovering process is long and disgusting. It took me at least 9 months to grow the toe nails back. read more

Overall, the nail salon seems clean with lined baths for the pedicures and nice chairs. I also really liked the staff, which is why I wish I could give a better review. I got a pedicure and gel manicure and the pedicure is fine, but the manicure looks sloppy. You can see the brush strokes and bumps in the polish. The polish doesn't even look glossy for some reason. I can't tell if the issue was the nail polish or what (it was OPI gel), but I didn't really notice until it was completely done. Also, my cuticles and skin was painted over a bit. read more

I was visiting from out of town and was in search of a nail salon that had prices and products that matched the salons in my area. After a couple of fails, we found this nail salon. The best way to park would be to use the parking deck across the street. As far as the experience, my friend and I both decided on pedicures but was unsure about getting fill-ins. So, as we were getting pedicures, it became very apparent that the nail technicians were talking about us in their native language. They would look at our feet, look at us, laugh and then act as if they are concerned in the same respect. At the end of our pedicures, my friend alerted the technician that she would like to get a fill-in. My nail technician grew agitated and said she doesn't think she could do her nails because some other clients were coming in. After speaking in their native language, we were informed there would be a wait time. We stayed for our fill-ins and seemed to pleased with that experience. But I must say, even though, it has been a couple days since this experience - my nails looks like they haven't been done in two weeks. Also, my friend's nails never dried properly and smudged greatly after she wore some heels later on that day. Overall, I would not recommend this place. The customer service and products offered are not luxurious (despite the name). read more

I came here after the area got built up and have been here 5 times so far. 3-4 weeks apart. My nails actually do last that long when I get the gel mani by Tina (unless I brake a nail, my fault). She really knows her job. Doesn't skimp out on the number of color coats it takes to achieve the right depth in color. She is also the first person to not make my cuticles painful after leaving. I really wanted to love this place because it's so convenient for me and honestly it's really nice inside but I gave this place three shots and every time it has failed me. Some of the nail technicians are really nice but.. For the price and lack of satisfaction, it's not worth it. They have been able to get me in every time without a wait but I feel like the nail techs are not trained/experienced- they always leave half my nail without polish. This last time the nail tech cut my nails way too short, uneven, and then forgot to put on a top coat, and wasn't too happy when I told her I wanted another coating of polish because it was just so light. Also I noticed they don't clean their pedicure bowls properly. I saw one of the girls do a lazy job of quickly spraying the bowl and then quickly rinse it with water leaving behind residue.. :( read more

I really enjoyed my experience here and thanks to the fact that more than a week later my manicure still looks amazing (usually it starts chipping after a few days!) I'm giving this place 5 stars. A friend and I arrived on a Saturday afternoon and they were able to fit us right in for mani-pedis. I was happy to see a huge selection of OPI colors (and a few other brands), we enjoyed the massage chairs, the leg massage felt great, the parrafin wax hand treatment was fun, and as I mentioned, my nails still look great 1+ week later! I think the salon looks nice and the overall service was great. The main con is I wish I could add a credit card tip vs. a cash only tip but alas. I look forward to returning the next time I'm ready to splurge and have my nails done! read more

My visit was on Friday, August 29th 2015 and the argument I witnessed was a woman arguing with the nail technician that she was being too rough on her nails and the technician arguing that the woman "kept saying ow for no reason". The argument itself didn't bother me that much because things like that happen but I was more upset about the quality of my manicure and eyebrows. If there was only one technician allowed to do waxing and you, as the owner, did the work, that makes me even more concerned. read more

I am so VERY happy that I found this place! WHEN I moved into the Dunn Loring neighborhood at the end of June, I would still continue to make the hike all the way into downtown DC just to get my nails done. Not anymore! Now, that I've found Luxury Nails and more importantly, Tina. She is my go-to technician and she is FANTASTIC ; highly skilled, very accommodating, and a consummate professional. The place is brand new, clean, and the pricing is also fair and reasonable. Gone are the days of dragging my feet (and hands) to Mimosa for their Happy Hour on Monday to Wednesday. I have come to realize that my time is precious and if I can save myself 1.5 hours of travel time on the god forsaken metro, then I'll do it; especially when I have such a great little nail salon in my own neighborhood. They also offer a variety of services such as massage, facials, and eyebrow waxing. Tip: If you get a mani/pedi, Tina will also offer you a glass of wine. read more

I hate to say it since the lady was so nice, but my nails were meh. My toes looked horrible and were not shaped well. I've never gotten a pedicure and thought my feet looked worse after lol. My manicure was not that great and the Polish was awful. I went and bought nail polish remover as soon as I left. Usually I stare at my toes and feet when I leave a shop, but this time I just thanked God it was winter and that my toes and hands would be covered up. It look over an hour and the place wasn't packed. No one greeted you, or asked if you wanted water while you waited... Just a simple acknowledgment and courtesy would be nice. I only got a plain manicure ($16) not a bad deal. The nail technician was great at following the steps and not cutting corners. She took her time and did a great job with removing dead skin and primping the nails before painting. I also appreciated how she applied base and top coats to lessen potential chipping. I came here on a Tuesday evening right after work and saw that they weren't busy so I decided to get a full set. I chose my colors (black and a glitter) and showed the woman a picture of the nails that I wanted. Overall the salon is nice, clean, and and has a great ambience but I wasn't completely satisfied with my end result. I had never gotten matte nails before and the picture of what I showed her was not even close to what I got. I would've much rather her let me know before hand that that would be the case so I could lower my expectations. She began to rush through painting my nails because they got busy and instead of being honest about the wait time she told everyone who came in to "wait 10-15 minutes" even though the wait would be much longer than that. I had to ask her to add another top matte coat to my nails because they were still shiny and the overall "matte" lasted two days. I really like that there's a nail salon in this area now! Was stalking the place waiting for the grand opening and was there the first week they opened! The 10% discount is still running too so that's a plus :) Everyone was friendly and the place was super clean, which is a HUGE deal for me, because I got sick from one place that I went to that had a really horrible hygiene practices. My only reason for giving them 3 stars and not more is, because I have acrylic tips and they keep lifting and this morning one came all the way off, which is a bit annoying because I'm not rough with my manicures at all.
