I was getting my car check around the area, and decided to go kill time by getting my nails done. There was a nail salon across the street from the car repair spot. However, this place has better reviews. So, of course, expectations are high. I took a 7 mins walk to the spot, the place is small and cozy. Something about me before I explain why I gave this place 1 star. I never go get my nails done because I feel like it is a waste of money, and I can just do it at home. I also hate gel because of the way it leave my nails looking and feeling after I take them off, and in my personal opinion, I don't think they are good for your nails. Okay, so I have a particular design I wanted to do. But they can only do the design if I do gel, which is cool, I'm not gonna argue and was fine with regular manicure because that is what I asked for. This manicurist was coughing a storm every now and then. She was so aggressive while cutting my cuticles or what I would like to call my "very tender skin", she made me bleed on my right thumb and apologized. Okay, that was fine. Then she made me bleed again on my left thumb and apologized. Like, at this point, I'm running out of non-bleeding thumbs. Lol. Anyways, my thumbs are burning and I just sat there and wish I was done already. Im an introvert, so I hate confrontation. So I took the L, and I'm writing this review because they will never see me again and I want other to be aware. I'm gonna give the nail salon the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was just that lady that is not great at what she does and is inconsiderate. After all, her coworker did tell her to put on the mask to prevent spreading whatever she has. But my manicurist stated that she doesn't want to because she doesn't like the way it feels and that she can't see properly with them on. Well if I get sick, then thanks lady... lol I just realized that I paid someone to make me bleed and potentially get sick. read more

Wonderful experience at Wisteria beauty. Got gel manicure. Technician was a perfectionist and made sure my cuticles looked perfect. She also noticed I had sensitive skin and adjusted without me asking to different tools. Love my mani. Couldn't be happier. Definitely book a reservation on a weekend. Was very busy. read more

Awesome customer service! They were super accommodating for my large group and extremely patient as I made several phone calls to confirm availability and logistics with my group. The technicians were efficient and quick to finish our pedicures. Definitely love the results and had a relaxing pedi day with the ladies! This is not *my* experience. It was my grandmother's experience. I took her for her birthday recently to manicure/pedicure and things just didn't go well. Long story short, her nails were lumpy, they took almost three hours to do and then the manager had to step in to re-do and at the point they were just "ok. We appreciate the kindness of everyone during this situation and perhaps the woman who did them was new but for the time and money, this was simply unacceptable. read more

I took my daughter here for her 5th birthday for a mani/pedi and got a pedi for myself. The techs were so sweet and accommodating and let my daughter spend lots of time picking out stickers for her nails. They have so many colors to choose from and their chairs were super comfortable. It was pretty easy to make bookings online, but I struggled to select both a mani and a pedi at the same time under the kids' section. I ended up calling to confirm afterward, just to make sure we allotted enough time. My daughter's already asking to go back again! read more

This is by far the best nail salon I've been to. I have had several visits at Wisteria and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend any of their technicians. All the ladies there are absolutely wonderful. Customer service is always a 20 out of 10! And they offer online booking which is so convenient and it's easy to book for yourself. I typically get a dip powder manicure but I have done regular and gel manicures, as well as spa pedicures. just added in new spa chairs for pedicures and I am excited for my next pedicure! I ended up at D'Oro almost by accident. I had been going to another nail place nearby but the last couple of weekends, they've had no openings. So I tried D'Oro and was very pleasantly surprised. It's tucked away on Old Dominion Road, so very convenient to get to. Nice big parking lot with plenty of spaces, so no need for street parking. The technicians themselves were very nice ladies and extremely thorough. I did a gel pedi and spa mani and it took about an hour and a half. They did a great job shaping and buffing, and while the massages are a bit hit and miss (some of the women use more pressure than others), I really felt like I got my money's worth. A couple of weeks ago, I tried their "Volcano Pedicure" on a lark, and it was expensive--$65, but very worth it. Not only did they do a great pedicure, but I got multiple leg and foot massages, and a neck massage. It was such a nice surprise. Funny because I'd been planning to book regular appointments elsewhere. But I like D'Oro so much that I'll be booking my monthly mani-pedi here, instead! read more

First of all, I never book my appointments with any one in particular because all of technicians have been wonderful so far. Very kind and skillful. HORRIBLE Pedicure!! I was so looking forward to a relaxing pedicure/ manicure. I made an appointment and selected a pedicure with extra callous treatment for $55. When I arrived I gave my name and expected them to know what I selected. They kept saying "Spa?" I told them I wanted a regular pedi with callous treatment. She ran the water and then while my one foot soaked she started trimming my cuticles on my other foot bone DRY! I felt this pinching sensation and then pain as she cut into my skin. I looked down and she said "regular". I was so upset, she then did a few swipes with the pumice stone and started wrapping my legs. The woman next to me started at the same time and she was still having her cuticles trimmed!! I complained right there but they just looked at me blankly. If you want to overpay for a subpar pedicure then go to this establishment but for me never again! What I thought was going to be a relaxing hour was painful & frustrating. $75 is too much for just a pedicure. Just because you are In McLean doesn't mean you can rip people off!! read more

This is NOT the old salon they use to be on the corner of Old Dominion and Wiitier Avenue. It has been sold to new owners, they stripped the place to the walls and put in beautiful, soothing, elegant floors, lighting, chairs, decorations, furniture, everything. I don't normally feel it necessary to write a review, but I was appalled today by customer service here. I walked in, and was immediately asked if I had an appointment (totally normal). I answered that I did not. I was then informed they had no availability without an appointment. (Though I was not asked what I came in for). Ok fine, no biggie. So I left. Except they looked empty. So I went online to see if I could book an appointment, and what do you know they had every time that day available left. So now I will never return here even though it's across the street from my house (walking distance) and will tell everyone I know don't bother. I have been using this salon for a male basic mani / pedi for over a year now based on the recommendation from the excellent barbershop next door. The salon is clean and comfortable with top notch chairs for the pedi and comfortable stations for the mani. My nail tech Nan does an excellent job. She is very gentle and focused on her skill. She provides a quiet and relaxing experience during the appointment. The Salon has easy parking and just perfect in downtown McLean for errand running before and after your visit. I call ahead about an hour before to check availability and they always take me within 20 mins of my call which is just about the right amount of time that it takes me to leave my home and get there without rushing. read more

This salon is the worst salon ever. New owner. If there is an option to give zero score I would have. I went there several weeks ago and I saw one of the nail technician used the same cuticle cutter on another customer without sanitizing it. I went home worried sick as I wasn't sure if the technician did my nails sanitized her equipments. I am not sure how many customers got infected here so far. I am so scared for myself and also all the customers who come here. If one of the technician can can perform unsanitary condition. I am sure the whole salon probably is too.
