Since there aren't any recent reviews, I'm going to add one to give new researchers an idea of what to expect. We hired Luz to do our move-out clean recently. Someone came over to take a look at the size and rooms to give us an estimate. The pricing was right where we wanted to be so we went with them. All communication was done through text messaging which was kind of weird. My partner isn't the best at checking his messages so it wasn't ideal for him. The day before they were coming over, they asked how we'd like to pay, Venmo or check. But they didn't say how much and we never got the estimate in writing. We should not have paid upfront either because the work was terrible. On the day of the cleaning, they showed up 15 minutes early and just let themselves in. We had never told them the house would be unlocked. It was unlocked by mistake. We were a little thrown off that they just came in and didn't let us know they were early. When they were done, we walked through to take a look, and oh my goodness... so much was missed and we had to do a lot of additional cleaning. The backsplash behind the oven was completely missed. They pulled out ALL the liners in the drawers and cupboards. Ummm we wanted to leave those. Our landlord was not thrilled they had been pulled out. There were still scuffs on the walls and doors that just needed a quick rub to get off. It just was not a thorough clean. We could've hired a neighborhood kid or heck, even a friend for less and had a better job done. Super disappointed. We won't be using Luz again and will not be recommending them. read more

Disappointed. Made an appointment to get a quote. 12pm was the time, waited until 12:25pm before I had to leave for an appointment. Texted the number advertised for the business letting her know we had an appointment at 12pm. She proceeds to tell me she'd had surgery the day before and forgot to tell her assistant to fill in for the appointment. That she'd had a crazy week. Tried calling me twice, in which I didn't pick up. I told her she should've scheduled a different day with me if she'd already planned on surgery that or was going to be too busy. No excuses whatsoever. As I worked the night before, I was completely inconvenienced and wasted half of a day. Extremely unprofessional therefore, I chose not to proceed moving forward with this company. Not even a courtesy call to cancel or reschedule. Luz has been cleaning my house for almost two years now, and I've been happy with her service. As I read through the reviews I understood what some had to say, so maybe I can elaborate with my experiences. When I scheduled my initial appointment for a quote, Luz had emphasized that she would be at my home within 30 minutes of the appointment, therefore if my appointment was at 1 o'clock she could be there as early as 12:30 or as late as 1:30- seemed reasonable, since you can't always be sure how long it takes to clean your previous house. Also, I've waited longer for a Kaiser phone appointment, so it didn't seem that inconvenient given the heads up. At one point her crew did break our living room ottoman, and for that we were very upset, and wondered if we should look for a new crew, but we decided to base our decision on how she would handle the situation, and we believe she handled it appropriately. She was immediately apologetic, said she'd speak with her crew about what they've done, and she paid for a brand new ottoman. Lastly, our other in counter was with the floors. One day, I came home after the house has been cleaned, and by evening I noticed my socks were black underneath. I thought that was gross seeing how my house was just cleaned, so I messaged Luz, and again I feel she handled it appropriately. She came back out to clean the floors appropriately and I haven't had an issue since. Extreme unprofessionalism and very poor service. When I first called Luz she came promptly and was very "professional" looking. She gave me solid assurance that her cleaning services would surpass any of my expectations. As part of the requirements to use her service, I had to pay for a Deep cleaning service first, and then I could go on the maintenance schedule. The deep cleaning was $55 more than the regular service, but she told me that they would get into all the nooks and crannies to ensure that everything had a good baseline. The day of the cleaning, they showed up late and there were 2 ladies and 1 man. They told me to come back in a couple of hours. When I came home I was terribly disappointed with the work they did. I found they did not even sweep under the couch, there was dust still on the shelves and nightstands, and only 1/2 of the bathtub had been cleaned (the front half). I called her back and she said she would send them back but I told her she needed to come herself to see what a terrible job they did. That I was very disappointed that she set me up to think it was going to be class A service. When she came, she was telling her staff that it was only the little details that were missed. LITTLE DETAILS!!! There was still a Cheerios under the couch after their deep cleaning! In the end, they did a decent job but I had to point everything out to them, even the obvious stuff and still Luz belittled it by saying it was just the small details, (in Spanish, thinking I did not understand). Since I had paid for the deep cleaning and figured they would do better next time, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and called her to schedule an appointment for my regular maintenance cleaning. I saw "Luz" van and called the number. Liz came out and quoted $245 Deep Clean, $115 per visit every two weeks afterwards. Our visit is coming up this week and I'll review afterwards. When I called the first time she answered the phone and we set an appointment. She showed up on time, but the man who driver her sat outside the house in his truck. Weird. I pointed out the things Merry Maids missed and she assured me all this will get done. To prepare for our deep clean we will pickup our clutter. Based on the negative reviews, I'm going to also create a checklist of what needs to be done in my eyes. I'll have the house cleaners sign off on it after each visit. That way if something is missed, Luz or myself will know it. I will update the stars and review after the deep clean. read more

6/12/16 Terrible experience. Let me preface this review with why I hired this company. Because the were BONDED and INSURED. She did a good job on the deep cleaning except a broken candle holder. Then I had hired her to do bi-weekly maintenance. It seemed to be going fine until I noticed a few major items broken. My brand new tile in my bedroom in my doorway was cracked and glued with crazy glue. My brand new $500.00 Kohler bathtub cracked. This will be huge repair cost. I asked her if she could check with her staff about the damage? She did and fired back with all kinds of crazy accusations. No offer to look at it, no insurance information. Just a bunch of "you should talk to your son", he's 21 and he wasn't even around when it happened. I live alone and I know who's in and out of my house. Needless to say I never heard from her again. The worst part is when I first started using her, I bought my boyfriend a $100.00 gift certificate for Christmas. It's now July he cashing it in and I'm certain she knows it's from me. She's charging him $100.00 for 2 tiny bathrooms. She charges "$35.00 an hour per gal". At that rate it will take them 3 hours to clean apartment size bathrooms. My boyfriend questioned the rate, she said, "she charges by the job". So if you have a fifty foot bathroom it's the same price as a 500 foot bathroom, I call bullshit. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS WOMEN UPDATE 6/16/16 Oh, she spent 35 minutes with 2 People to clean 2 small bathrooms for the pre-purchased $100.00 gift card. OUTRAGEOUS. read more

The one stars and negative comments....subjective as they are, I see here are from likely competitors or friends of who have likely lost business to Ms Flores and the vague input given to talent of hers....which is head and shoulders above the rest. I work for a biopharm mfg facility that has to subscribe to the regulations and be governed by the FDA. I can tell you first hand that if Luz Cleaning ever performed the way they have been insulted here, it is not and never has been demonstrated in any way less than professional and regimented.. I have monitored and written metrics for performance and satisfaction from a company campus of 12000 employees. I can tell you that Maria "Luz" Flores ranks among the highest in all around scores for any of my vendors or suppliers and should be recognized and valued. She and employees are an asset to our organization.. I love that woman company and what she brings to the table. She is amazing with productivity. I came to live with my dad in May of 2015. His service was already set up so I didn't change his current house cleaner. Luz's service was mediocre, but I didn't have to clean the house; I had so much more going on to deal with housekeeping. At the beginning of November, I came home after a trip to Sacramento and the toilet paper roll holder was missing. Luz said my dad, he has Alzheimer's maybe took it or moved it, that excuse might had work if he wasn't with me in Sacramento. As I looked around the bathroom it wasn't quite as cleaned like it was in the past. I figured I would wait until the next clean and see if the new crew would do better...or at least get the cleaning back up to the mediocre state. No, now it would appear that they are not cleaning but wiping down the bathrooms with disaffecting solution. It smells like the crew is cleaning, but the are not! On the third clean with the new crew, I put a finger print on the medicine cabinet mirror corner. That's right, it was still there when I returned home after the cleaning. They never cleaned the mirror or anything else. I contacted Luz, she said that my mother only hired Luz to clean the master bath and vacuum. Luz said that my mother told her that the other bath was not used much and maybe just clean the toilet. Not true! My mother used the second bathroom 100% as her own bath. My dad used the master bath as his own bathroom100%! I would not use this company. Knowing that my mother is no longer in the house was a perfect opportunity for Luz to extort more money to bring her cleaning service back to mediocre quality. One last comments on her ethics. During one cleaning in the beginning, while I was getting used to my surroundings and taking over the care of my dad...I over paid Luz. Once I was got into my routine, I was reconciling my dad's checkbook and noticed the mistake. It had been several cleanings and Luz never said a word about being overpaid. I had a gal named Luz Housecleaning come and do a DEEP cleaning of my 3 bed/3 bath 2000+sf house last month. She sent 3 people and they were there busting their asses for 4+ hours My house looked AMAZING! They even cleaned all appliances and changed sheets on all beds, dusted light fixtures, fans and baseboards. Moved all furniture and vacuumed/mopped under When I got home there was a large pile of MISSING toys on my kitchen counter hahaha! It was $240 but she said it would only be $140 to come back once a month. Don't let the other review mislead you, this was definitely A+ service and detail. And that's coming from a mother of 3 with VERY high expectations of cleanliness :) read more

Luz housekeepers have been cleaning my house for about 6 months now and I am so pleased with them. They are fast (she sends out a crew) and super efficient. Luz is a pleasure to deal with and she's so accommodating to me and my needs. Sometimes the housekeepers she sends out rearrange some of my stuff (knick knacks and throw blankets etc..) and I LOVE IT...they have an eye for it. It's super affordable and I have never had a bad experience with Luz or her housekeepers. She also has been doing my neighbors house for a couple years now, which says a lot. I also recommend her to my friends and family. You won't be disappointed. read more
