From our very first phone call, she was attentive, communicative, and completely dedicated to bringing our vision to life at the Old Orange County Courthouse. We met with her over Zoom a few months before the wedding, and her experience showed immediately. Her knowledge of the courthouse was incredibly helpful. She suggested beautiful locations around the venue, asked exactly what kind of shots we wanted, and was so thorough about who we wanted in each group photo that nothing was left to chance. On the day itself, she truly delivered. It was brutally hot and the courthouse was packed, but Lucia was an unstoppable force. She worked tirelessly to get the perfect shots, gave clear direction, and was endlessly positive and encouraging, which was exactly what my now-husband and I needed as a couple of nervous wrecks! This review is a year in the making! I've been dying to write this review but not wanting anyone to see it just yet, I held off. You see, my husband and I eloped a year ago in January 2025 and had what everyone thought was our wedding in January 2026 but to everyone's surprise it was actually our one year wedding anniversary instead. When we were doing research on ways to elope we stumbled upon the Old Orange County Courthouse and we weren't familiar with the Old Orange County Courthouse at all or photographers in the area in general but when we googled OOCC, Lucia came up. My husband and I asked Lucia to be our photographer for our civil ceremony at the Old Orange County Courthouse in October. We wanted a small intimate wedding with just our immediate families in attendance. From the start, Lucia impressed us with how organized and thoughtful she was. She went above and beyond being a photographer, to the point that it felt like we had hired a wedding planner, because she was so knowledgeable and detail oriented and thought of everything we needed before we did. And by the end of our day, she felt like a good friend. During the initial meeting, I let Lucia know that my eyes are sensitive to bright light (both sunlight and camera flash). Lucia reassured me that nearly all the photos would be in soft natural light (as we had seen from the photos on her website), and if sunlight bothered me at any point, we would work in sunglasses as a fun prop for outdoor photos. I brought up that I felt a little anxious about being photographed (I know it sounds funny, as we are the ones who wanted a photographer, but I still had the jitters), and she helped reassure me about these concerns as well. Lucia addressed all our concerns and questions and helped us feel like we were in capable and caring hands. In the month leading up to our wedding, Lucia created a Google doc which provided a very organized schedule customized for us and our families, parking directions, items that she recommended packing, and other helpful suggestions such as how to hold the bouquet, how to photograph the ring, etc. On our wedding day, Lucia helped guide us quickly and efficiently from place to place. She got us into the best photo spots, like the grand staircase, the big courtroom upstairs, and a shared spot on the lawn where we could play with the bubble guns. She also reminded us which ceremony room we should ask for to get the best photos (we almost forgot. Thanks for catching that for us!) This was no easy feat since there were quite a lot of people inside and outside the courthouse, so props to Lucia for being able to grab these spots for us! Throughout all the photo sessions, she reminded us how to stand in the best light, hold our poses a certainn way, and most importantly helped us feel comfortable which brought out the natural happy smiles and laughs that are so important for these photos! She also offered us blotting papers because it was a warm day (my husband really thanks you for that!) And a shout out to her assistant Adal who was also friendly and pleasant, and helped carry our things and offered his help whenever possible. Our families also loved Lucia and told us that we need to book her for all our important life events! You know you must be doing things right if even our dads (who are usually camera shy) said they had fun and wanted to see the photos. 1 week later - We already received our photo previews. That is super fast! And she delivered even more photos than we expected so we could enjoy them together and with our families. 6 weeks later - We received our final photo gallery. We did ask for a few edits such as lengthening my husband's necktie in some photos and removing a cowlick from others. Again Lucia was super quick to respond and went above and beyond to help us out with these. And now we have our final photos!! These photos are even more beautiful than we could've imagined, and we can't wait to share these with our family and friends, just in time for the holidays. Definitely going to make prints of these as well. So thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day so special!
