Contacted southern electric again, "we can't yet, need to handle permit" Contacted Permit office. "All they need to do is pay" Odd. What's the hold up? Time is money. Asked for refund. Get the permit yourself ($25) and call Logan electric or chancellor. A shame I can move faster. read more

Was in the market to hire a electrician to wire my hotub and this electrician never showed up. After I was waiting for my appointment, I called and they gave me some excuse about their scheduling mix up. They rescheduled and came in double the cost of other electrical providers. I already had my building permit, and let them know but they still continued to try to charge me for this. Weeks later after I let them know if this twice they still provided the same estimate. Vinny was my tech and, throughout the job, he was very professional, efficient and thoughtful. He took care to ask questions so that everything was exactly right and how I wanted it. And, exactly right it was. The work he did was exemplary. And, he was super nice, offering to dispose of the boxes and clean up (not that there was much to clean at all; he put booties on his shoes and always put down cloth where he worked to catch everything). We had an after hours issue - lost power in a portion of our house- that was quickly addressed with professionalism. We found Southern via a google search for our area and called because it offered 24 hour service. Our call was answered by an answering service but we received a call back from the company fairly quickly. On the call we were walked through some possible solutions or causes. After spending 10-15 minutes on the phone, an on call technician was dispatched to our house and we saw him within an hour. He was friendly and quickly got to work. I have had multiple excellent experiences with Southern Electrical and would recommend them to anyone needing electrical services in the Northern VA area. I came across them because the previous owners of my home hired them to address with some electrical issues that were discovered during the home inspection when we were buying the house. Southern did a nice job with that work, so I decided to call them up when I needed some lamp sconces wired and installed as part of a living room remodeling project. Again, they did a fantastic job (unfortunately don't remember the names of the specific electricians that did the work but they were great). Most recently, they sent Mark to help replace about 20 receptacles/outlets which had become loose over the years and wouldn't hold plugs anymore. Once more, the work was done professionally, within a reasonable price and time frame. Brandon is always helpful with quotes/estimates and Erica is always friendly and professional with scheduling. Was told that someone would contact me Friday afternoon or Monday morning and come out and take care it. I called Southern Electrical Service and spoke with Pam about the electrical work I needed. My basement had been finished poorly by my ex-husband and it wasn't up to code. Pam understood my problem and helped me work with Southern Electrical to fix a variety of electrical issues. They handled this difficult job with ease, even though they had to work in areas that were hard to access - since the drywall was already in place. To make my basement safe and bring it up to Loudoun County code standards, Southern Electrical had to find a way to create access to the door bell transformer box, fix an overloaded light switch, add plugs to walls, make existing plugs tamper resistant - and these are just a few of the many items they had to fix. They accomplished all of this in just two visits and my basement should now pass inspection with flying colors.
