Was super excited to find a nail place near my boyfriends work place. I honestly was satisfied with my pedicure and expected at least the similar experience for my manicure, the other hand was decent but my left hand job was sooo bad. I asked if they can clean it up. They gave me major attitude especially the lady who was doing it and basically gave up and asked the other work and I genuinely and kindly said, "come on, I came here for a professional nail paint. I can do a better job at home myself, can you please clean off the edges?" And nope they were just wanting me out of there when there's no other clients, and I said can I fix it and was saying okay you do it. It was only after I TOOK photos of my nails the lady started to say sorry and was being nice and said she will redo it. Only after I asked if I can speak with the owner. Why spend almost $100 and go there to relax if they are going to give attitude and do the nails, I been to other places and should have gone to my regular place. Ladies please don't waste your time coming here. The photos below is only 4 days after my nail appointment. First of all I am new to getting acrylics so when my nail chips and I showed my friend she said that they did a terrible job. As you can see they didn't even tale off the pervious color and just painted over it. The orange was peeking through by the third day. My experience at the salon was very awkward. I came in during a weekday, mid day and was the only customer. It was quite, no music, only the other workers talking. The didn't offer me any water, and began fixing the other salon tables with loud banging noise. It was awful, not relaxing at all. I asked the guy who was doing my nails if he could do a simple yellow French tip and showed him a photo of what was on their instagram page (so I know it was possible) and he looked at me with a smirk and said no. I was so shocked, he didn't even try to work something out with me or offer something else. By far the worse nail experience I've ever had. Again please don't waste your time here ladies! read more

My honest review, I walked in three weeks ago for a dip manicure and my cousin got a pedicure. We were greeted immediately and was also sat as they weren't super busy which was great! They always ask if you want another service like your toes or they make comments about your mustache or eyebrows which gets on my nerves a little... A male came and helped me right away and started to remove my nails which is when I asked if they could do a clear dip powder with another gel color on top but I don't think they got what I was trying to ask for because I ended up walking out with white dip - no gel on top. My Nails look good but when LV took over because the guy asked her if we could do my request - she did my nails in literally 10 minutes. I appreciate her pace and was shook at how they looked at the end (which is actually not that bad for the time being ) but there are still some areas I wish she took more time on and I personally wasn't in a rush. Also, she filed my nails roughly and at the time I didn't mind because I could handle it - but I didn't notice any cuts until I squeezed a lemon for my water and it stung so bad on four of my fingers, she does an amazing job and she's good at what she does but I will take my business elsewhere if she doesn't care enough to look over and notice all the over filed sides, uneven cuticle lining of the powder, and crooked tips. Especially if I'm gonna be paying $55 for white dip nails & no hand/arm massage to complete my manicure. Last time I checked a manicure came with cleaning my cuticles too and I didn't receive that service either.... What did I pay for? The powder? Extremely frustrating I don't recommend this place if you want someone to do a good job. Also they over charge off the walls like $55 for a dip powder manicure?! Crazy. Three weeks later I'm at another nail salon, ask for the same thing and they have definitely delivered all of my requests, didn't have to ask for a massage at the end and got my cuticles cleaned with no cuts on my fingers. LV Maui Nails and Spa is located in the same plaza as Whole Foods, specifically next to Fox Rent A Car (which is the adjacent small building to the left of Whole Foods). I came by here on a Tuesday around 5 pm, as a walk in, looking for a gel (shellac) manicure. I was originally planning on getting a manicure at Madison Avenue Beauty & Boutique (at the Queen Ka'ahumanu Center, 2nd floor, down the hall from Subway), who charges $35 for a gel manicure. However, the person who does nails had already left for the day. An employee there had highly recommended LV Maui Nails and so I decided to just stop by there. When I came in, I was greeted by a male employee (whom was doing a pedicure for a woman). I asked him if they would take a walk in for a gel manicure. He told me yes and then another woman told me to sit at the table. Tiffany was currently working on a customer's nails and so she told me I will be next. While I waited, she told me to pick the color for my nails. Tiffany (whom is Vietnamese and English is not her 1st language) prepped my nails and then eventually started my manicure. I had asked her if she had gloves for the UV lamp, she said yes but I don't think she quite understood what I was asking since she did not give me one. Putting my hands under the lamp was rather hot (much warmer than other lamps that was used on me in previous manicures). Anyways, I picked a sparkly blue color for my nails. While Tiffany was painting my nails, I asked her if she could do a dog design on my nails. With the language barrier, she had trouble understand what I was asking for and so she asked another woman if she could see what I wanted. So I asked this woman if she could do a dog design on my nails. She asked if I wanted a bone and a dog paw. I told her that I wanted a dog's head and so this other woman ended up adding this design. After 2 weeks of getting my manicure, the edges started to lift. I ended up removing the gel myself (you can purchase pure acetone at a beauty store, which would be cheaper than to have a nail salon remove it for you). But if I had not done this, I am pretty sure my manicure would have lasted closer to 4 weeks. The cost of my gel manicure is as follows: $35 for gel manicure + $5 nail design (design for 2 fingers only, if you want all fingers, it will cost $10) + $2 credit card transaction (unfortunately I did not have cash on me)= $42 prior to tip (I was able to pay tip by credit card). To be honest, the price of a manicure cost more than the price of a manicure back at home, but it was done well and in just under 1 hour. This is probably one of the best manicures that I have ever had. However I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the tools used on my nails. There was white dust (most likely nail chippings/ grinding/ filing from previous clients) on the tools that were used on me. Although I did not get an infection, I am bothered by that. Anyways, if you do come here, consider bringing cash to avoid paying a credit card transaction like me. read more

I feel pretty awful writing bad reviews for any business, my experience at this salon did not match my expectations. I am a regular customer that has returned multiple times, but I believe that this will be my last. While my manicure is not terrible, it is not what I wanted, despite my attempt to communicate with my stylist that I wanted less thick French tips and I wanted the French tip to curve with my nail more. Also, certain fingers are not filed straight and curve slightly, especially my middle finger in the photo. I don't believe that this job warrants the $55 I paid for it. I would rate this manicure a 5/10. While I would typically be more lenient in my grading, the ultimate experience that leads me to be so strict is the cleanliness of this salon. My stylist did NOT change the towel that he did my manicure on and it contained previous nail clippings from other customers. If they are unwilling to change a blatantly obvious sanitation practice, I have to wonder what else they disregard. Also, I was gifted a $100 gift certificate for my birthday in January 2020, and used it once. Then, COVID shut down the salon for months and prevented multiple people from going out for fear of their health and wellness. I was unable and unwilling to visit nail salons in the times since our government mandate, as I was still fearing the results of the pandemic. The salon workers chose not to honor their gift certificate since it expired in January 2021, and did not even give me a portion of the $48 it still contained. Terrible experience and awful customer service. Owner seemed more interested in quantity over quality rather than building morale with her customers. Here are just a few of the many things I noticed that were unprofessional as well as unsanitary at this salon- no base coat before gel which leads to lifting down the line, lumpy and uneven acrylic, parts of the nail not painted with even coats of polish, patches and lumps around edges of nails, no trimming or pushing down of cuticles, patchy top coat, refusing to clean up mistakes around cuticle area of excess polish before curing under the lamp and no cleaning up work spaces between clients. Techs also had masks hanging off their noses, didn't sanitize their own hands and were bouncing back and forth between people rather than working on one person at a time so that made their work even more subpar. There was no individual focus on you as a customer but rather, trying to get as many people's nails done at once even if the work was of poor quality. I have been getting my nails done for awhile now so these are standard things professional and qualified nail techs will do when taking care of their clients. This was also my mother's first time getting her nails done in a long time and after the year that she's had, she totally deserved a good experience but watching the careless way they rushed through her nails made my blood boil- I was more upset about her nails over my own. At least I have a dedicated nail girl on Oahu who takes care of me that I can go see.... I will have to help my mom find a better place here on Maui that will make the time to take care of her and not waste her hard earned money when she goes to get her first fill in a few weeks. Don't come here if you want to relax and pamper yourself. The last thing I'd like want to do is go out of my way to give a poor review of someone's business but if you are paying between $50-$100 for a service, you should be asked if you are happy with the job before you leave and if you express discontent, the owner of all people should be more than willing to make it right. read more

This place used to be great I got an excellent nail set about a year and a half ago, this time was extremely disappointing. I went in for a full set and pedicure. The nail technician did my nails while I was seated getting a pedicure, she bypassed a few key steps and my nails look like crap. They are extremely overpriced, they rushed your service. I went for my birthday to get a mani with acrylic nails, and a pedi. It's so inconvenient that they make you do the two services at the same time because it hurts my back to sit in the pedi chair and have to twist to the side at the same time so the mani lady can do the nails. I asked for the most expensive pedi, which includes the hot soak and hot stones. They don't even let you soak your feet. The lady rushed me and wouldn't let me pick my colors off the wall and put me in the chair, giving me only the options to look in the limited color book. The water was lukewarm and not hot, and she basically had me dip my foot to wash it, then she worked on them one at a time. After about 3 minutes each foot, she drained the water out. There's goes money for the no soak! Terrible way to start that you pay for stuff you don't get. The hot stones were not hot but room temp again, and the nail filer on my toes lifted my toenail up so that it hurts still today. I was using the massage chair as well and at one point they shut it off without giving me a warning or telling me why, although they were talking to each other in Vietnamese. I decided to ask if I wasn't allowed to use it and the lady said wait a few minutes. If she speaks English, why shut it off rudely without telling the client in a professional manner? Overall that wasn't the issue. I asked for a manicure and acrylic nails, with the purpose being they would cut my cuticles and make the acrylic further at the base. This did not happen. She added acrylic first. The lady who did this is terrible!!! She's about 36 years old, and a little boyish. I don't know her name but want to describe her so people can avoid her. She put the wrong size tip on my thumb so it was glued to my skin. I pointed it out and she said she'd file it. You'll file it off my skin?? What??? She made the acrylic so thick after I asked for it to be thin. I asked her to make it thinner and she was irritated. She was using the wrong nails file too so it wasn't going down. I asked for thinner, and she said she can't. I've attached pictures. The acrylic was soooo thick and lumpy, not smooth at all. She even put the acrylic on my skin because she's careless and doesn't care about doing a good job. She even filed into one of my cuticles making me bleed!!!!! Injuring and slicing up people is not okay and I shouldn't have had to pay for it at that point!!! After, another girl did the manicure afterwards. This was pointless as it was to remove cuticles for space for the acrylic. She didn't even cut all the cuticles. Pictures attached. The paint job shows how lumpy and bad the acrylic is. In the end they charged me $120!!!!! Mani pedi combo is listed as $43, yet they charged me individually for each service. I tried asking about it but the boyish girl was arguing me so I paid. I will NEVER come back! I've been coming here occasionally for years and the quality has become cr^p, and I was injured and overcharged. I got birthday nails for this price but looks like I have to go file them down at home! Never go to LV NAILS. UPDATE: the pedicurist messed up my toe! She lifted my toe bed up and harassed my toe so bad she gave my big toe an infection!!! I've never had a toe infection in my life until now! That's why my toe has been hurting so much after one week! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SLICED UP AND ALSO GIVEN INFECTIONS!!!!!!!! Unsanitary and ignorant unqualified workers who hurt customers! read more

I used to love this spot, especially when they first opened. I was going to LV since she was at Pro Nails in Wailuku. However, I keep trying to give this place second, third, fourth chances BUT my gel nails just don't last the way they used to. I used to be able to go 3-4 weeks but now they lift way sooner. LV is on point with her waxing, but they do reuse sticks. Typically you don't like to see them use the same stick into the wax, but it happens. If you had to pick, I recommend asking for LV or Joanne. There's another one that's pretty good but I forget her name. But when it gets busy, it may seem a little rushed and you're not getting the full experience you would like to get and that you would get if they weren't as busy. No need for reservation but depending on the time you go and if you want to request someone specific, definitely call ahead! read more

I was hesitant to go any where than my usual spot but I stopped here for a mani and pedi and although it was close to closing she still had me come in and did a great job on my nails. They are really friendly and I didn't get the vibe that they were talking about me as they kept their Vietnamese conversations down to a minimum from what I could tell. Their foot massage was more than enjoyable and I wish it never ended. The owner seems really nice and made sure everything was going well. She even offered me water. After 1 day a nail started to crack from edge. I stopped in to have it fixed, I was told to come back tomorrow. The next day when I woke up 3 more nails were cracking from the side. I went in to LV Nails and again was a told come back tomorrow. My nails look horrible. I will now have to go to another salon and pay again. I'm so very disappointed. I've been getting my nails done at many different places for 30+ years. This is the worst place I've been to. I had my nails done by the owner I assume-LV. She did my nails while I was getting my pedicure so I had to reach my hand over to her instead of her coming to the side that she was working on. She worked in a very hurried manner and was rough, at one time cutting my cuticle. There was no apology. She does not do nails with any care or precision. It was very slap dash. I ended up having to file down my nails after getting home. Doing nails is not the same as laying down concrete cement. It should be more detailed. If you don't care about shape or detail then I guess you'd be ok with this place but for the rest, I would never recommend this salon. They just don't care about detail or about you as an individual. My first time back to a nail salon in a long time, I was greeted with a friendly smile, and asked if I wanted something to drink, such as coffee, tea, wine, water. Tiffany did my mani/pedi. She is Awesome!! I will be back! My second time, I went with my Husband and daughter. I called in ahead to book an appointment. We were greeted then seated, they didn't ask us if we wanted anything to drink this time around. They were very mindful and friendly towards my daughter, they had a younger gentleman, maybe an apprentice who did her mani/pedi, she was so excited and comfortable that someone closer to her age was helping her. She LOVED it!!! My husband got the Deluxe pedicure and loved how his feet felt. My third time, I had called in ahead for an appointment. Although I ran a few minutes late about 15 mins, when we did arrive both me and my daughter, we did manage to be seated, we weren't asked if we wanted anything to drink. We waited at least 20 mins for someone to do our nails. 20 mins to a child is forevvverrrr! She was getting restless. The lady helping her was friendly and made her feel comfortable. When I pointed out that the polish was uneven, bubbling, and not even covering my entire nail, she looked at it, said it's fine, and finished. My gel is rough, streaked, and just looks bad. My sister-in-law and I were treated horribly, the service was rushed and sub par at best and the massage just straight up hurt. We got a regular manicure and a buff and shine and they were careless and rushing and we were their only customers. They charged me $28 for my buff and shine, claiming I also wanted a manicure when I literally only said buff and shine. When I called to tell them how dissatisfied I was with their service, they actually raised their voice and yelled at me and told me to "go write whatever on Yelp" so, hi. Here it is. It's times like this that I miss my old salon four cities ago. Nail techs who do an amazing job are hard to come by. I had high hopes as my pedicure started out to a good start, but things started to turn a little when I didn't get even the slightest foot massage. Nothing. I had to ask for my calluses to be removed as I got a 30 second scrub before my tech attempted to move on. The kicker for me was the sloppy leftovers on my nails. I explained to 3 people that the polish was too thick and likely to chip in a day, but my tech didn't understand and only attempted to fix by offering to put on more polish and another topcoat, which I declined. Sorry, I had a terrible pedi and gel mani just now. Seems like they care more about speed than quality. I still have nail polish on the skin around my fingernails and toe nails that they never bothered to clean up all the way (see photos). My technician also didn't clean up the gel polish around my nails, so I still have bits of the clear topcoat hanging off my nails. Gonna have to clean this all up myself now. Yes, perhaps I could've stayed to have them fix it, but I really just wanted to get out of there already. Definitely not going back. Not ever. So NOT worth it at all. read more
