Good service, but bad accounting practices. August 19, 2024 took a .99 mile trip from Perkins to Kroger Mendenhall. Got out of the car and a few minutes the receipt pops up with the fare of $7.77, knowing that the next step was to ask for a tip starting at $2 & so forth? But in this case there was a $3 tip. NO WAY‼Tried over & over to remove it and maybe change it to a $1⁉ But nothing I touched would change. Frustrated I rebooted my phone, but once up, I couldn't find the charge except in my list of Rides⁉ I looked for Support or Help to tell Lyft about the error, but all I found was a check list asking what went wrong. Obviously, there was a problem with the fare‼Next page, Lyft's computer response was "Everything looks Ok ! Now they have the nerve to ask if I am satisfied. "N0"‼and five emojis to rate Lyft's service which I of course gave Lyft a one ugly star‼ Preceded for the next 45 minutes looking for someplace on the app to write that I'm very happy and I want the $3 tip removed‼ By then I was going in circles repeating steps and getting nowhere! Lyft no longer has a website I found out by going to it. If there was a place on their app to write my complaint I certainly couldn't find it, so I finally called my bank and had them Dispute the Lyft charge of $10.77 with the $3 Tip‼It's the principle‼ read more

I would rather walk than use a Lyft. Their service is horrible. None of their drivers can find my house. I tried to send them an email about this issue. The email was read but no one responded. read more

I order a Lyft ride today and the driver was an aggressive driver. The car was badly damaged on the outside. When I enter into the back passenger seat the rubber seal around the door fallen on top of my head. The floor and seats was extremely dirty. I could not believe what was happening with me and when I reported it to Lyft they refuse to refund me my money. I have videos and photo to validate my experience. read more

Ordered a ride to the airport and got gouged. Drivers aren't making near what they used to do looking at other options. I don't mind paying a fair price but 4am gouging is over the top. Price was 3x what the same ride, (same time) was previously. Greed is not good. read more

Lyft offers your basic needs in Memphis. My first Memphis Lyft the trunk of the car was full of laundry which is odd if you are picking up a rode from the airport. My rode back to airport had a fantastic driver. I would highly recommend scheduling a ride through if you have a morning flight through Lyft. Lyft has a driver but it took 15 mins as only one driver was available and she was completing another trip. Uber had no drivers available at 6am on Saturday for the Beale Street hotel area to airport. More drivers would help and to ensure drivers cars are set for airport pickups. read more

Small issue with driver forgetting to end ride and the rate doubled ,I Went all jersey shore on them But I was to quick to judge .They found the error quickly and immediately reimbursed me .the drivers were very courteous.and timely. me and my wife downloaded the app and took advantage of the refer a friend discounts.I will def use them next visit to Memphis. read more

On July 8th, 2020, I requested a ride for a friend. She was picked up at 1:17am and dropped off at 1:24 am. I noticed I didn't have quite enough to pay for said ride in my account. I was short a couple of dollars so instead of making him wait for my next deposit to hit. I asked the driver if it was okay to accept cash. They replied yes and accepted the cash plus tip. Now I am being charged again for said ride. This is not acceptable and very wrong. I have sent emails disputing this act and they keep replying there is nothing they can do. If accepting cash is not part of your policy, you should tell your drivers and put it on your site. read more

I had another issue with Lyft today, I was showing the app to a friend and then I place my phone in my pocket. Next thing I know, I have a random number calling me saying my Lyft was ready. I guess I butt dialed a Lyft... why is there not a confirmation button like Uber? anyhow, I'm short $5 for cancellation... i doubt i'll use them in Memphis again since this is the 2nd time i've had an issue with Lyft... stick with Uber! ------- here was my last review from before, not sure why it doesn't pop up... I'm glad this sort of transportation has come to Memphis, along with Uber. I have used both services in other major cities, so I had their app already installed on my phone. Visit their pages for a brief explanation on their 'private taxi' business. I just wanted to comment on my recent trip last week when I thought I'd use their promotional welcome to Memphis $25 credit. I rounded up a few friends to get some drinks downtown. I opened up the Lyft app and set up a ride with one of the three cars that were available at the time. We tracked the driver on my phone up until when he picked us up. We were coming from East Memphis and headed into town for dinner and drinks. Things were going fine as expected, and the credit was applied for our ride there. So we enjoy our dinner and quite a few drinks. I start looking at the Lyft app around 11pm to start setting up our ride back, but there aren't any drivers available. I figure it's because they're probably busy helping others. So I keep the app open and nothing pops up for an hour. Feeling stuck in Downtown Memphis, it's 1230am by now, I open up my Uber app and find a driver to come bring us back to East Memphis. Now it's a great option for travel around Memphis, but I don't think that they really have drivers available 24 hours a day as they promote on their website. They need more drivers, and drivers that know Memphis well and don't rely on navigation to get around, I felt as if it was our driver's first time downtown. It was a Thursday night, even when I got home I checked to see if there were any drivers, but none were around still. I'll use Lyft again likely, but the next time will be during the day time. read more

I took a ride on Lyft in Memphis at Midnight from the Airport to my mothers home. I have done this most months for the last 6+ years. This last ride I was picked up by a lady who smoked in her car for years. It smelled like it had never been cleaned. She even apologized about the smell when I got into the car and asked me if she wanted the air conditioner or if she should leave the windows opened. When I got out of the car, 10 minutes later, I wreaked of smoke and so did both pieces of my luggage. Later that evening I complained in writing to Lyft. First they claimed to not have a record of my ride - which I provided. The. They said they would look into it. Then they asked me for lots of research, all of which they should already have. Clearly they just wanted me to go away. Then they wrote back asking for more information so they could get the driver to pay for my clothes cleaning and to get my luggage cleaned ( which I have not yet figured out how to do). I wrote them back and told them they could keep my $17 and forget paying for my cleaning and I would switch to UBER - and so would my employees. They lady driver was wrong! But she was just trying to get through LIFE. Lyft, as a company, was more wrong in that they really did not care that I have depended on them for years, and called them first almost every time! They just wanted me to make a case so they could try to make the driver pay for my cleaning. I am now, until further notice, an UBER-first customer. read more

I have used Lyft four times in the last three days and have had nothing but the most pleasant experiences. Every one of my drivers has been friendly, courteous, on time and mindful of their driving. I cannot for the life of my figure out why anyone would give them a bad review. read more

I was really excited to use Lyft for the first time last evening but my enthusiasm wained after 6 attempts to get a driver even though there were 3 within 15 minutes of our house. We wanted to go for drinks and dinner and decided to use a service instead of drinking and driving. So since we could not get a driver from Lyft we had a designated driver which was fine but not what we were hoping for. In short Lyft sort of screwed up our night on the town. So word to the wise ..if you live in the suburbs don't call Lyft ...you won't get a driver. I can see why they can afford to give away "10 free rides" to entice you to use their service ....you can't use the service iF there is no service. read more

The service is good. I have no complaints about the drivers at all. The problem is the app and the customer service. The first time my promo expire and was my fault I wrote them to see if it was a mistake and they added me more promos... that was good... but having the promo I took a ride and it was an old guy who didn't know how to use the app, I didn't have any charge so I wrote them because I didn't want that the old guy lose money, so they charged me 7 dollars, I was clear since the beginning that I had that ride with a promo but it didn't matter so they finally decide to give me 5 dollars back (still waiting for that in the bank), now today I took another ride, in the app shows that they charge me 1.20 with the promo but in my bank shows again 6.20. So back to customer service for being told that they will give me another promo and not the money back, I don't want a promo, I want a serious company who charges what it says when it says.... read more

I am a driver of Lyft and they cheated me out of an hourly guarantee that they had for the New Years holiday. The guarantee was supposed to be an average of money you make as well as an average of how many trips you make but for the last 2 hours they had no trips sent to me and when I checked to see how much I was supposed to be compensated for I realized the only credited the first 2 hours of the 4 hour period I would recommend for drivers at least to drive with Uber they have been amazing and always followed through on their incentives even one time because a customer kept canceling on me so my acceptance rate was below what it should have been they still gave me the money for the incentive when I told them about it all Lyft basically said was sucks for you read more
