The service of this place went down. They rush to cut your nails and don't take their time when cutting your cuticles. I politely ask for a pedicure and to have my nails buffed (see pic). When the guy said he was done I looked at my feet in disgust! I asked him to go over it again and he said no. The crazy thing he was looking for a tip after! Never again! read more

After searching and trying several nail salons, with mediocre or disappointing results, I went on Yelp yet again and found a 5-star review for SAKURA in Lynbrook. I went, hoping for the best and, guess what?! SAKURA was indeed a 5-star salon experience... although I only had a pedicure, just to try it. I had a relaxing green tea pedicure that was given by Patrick who was very thorough and very nice. The salon was not busy for a Saturday mid afternoon but all the more relaxing as piano music videos played. I plan on returning and hope the high standard & level of service is maintained so that this can become "my" nail salon. read more

Since it's a holiday, my regular nail salon was closed. I decided to try this one since it's new. First, the place was really nice, clean and relaxing. I did a mani and foot spa + pedi. The staff were nice and gave me a bottle of water. Celine was great. After, she gave me a gift bag with lotion and some coupons for future visit. Really nice work from Eason and Celine. My girls and I got Gel Acrylics and all pleased. Only reason zi give it a 4 is because we were there for 2 1/2 hours. Eventhough there were others working, only Eason worked on our nails and then Celine painted and designed for one of my girls. Celine did great design and accurate to what she asked. read more

Decided to give this place a shot because I needed a quick pedicure. I was in the area already and called and asked if I could stop by for a pedicure and the man on the phone told me to come in. Really nice place. Workers are super friendly and inviting. I was seated immediately, the only other customers was a couple also getting pedicures next to me. The only disappointment I have with the pedicure is that he didn't even shave the dead skin off the heels of my feet. I had to come home and use a pumice stone my self which is kinda annoying to do at 38 weeks pregnant. I don't know if that's included in the pedicure of you have to ask for it separately but I guess if I come back again I will ask about it next time. Prices were also decent. read more

My experience was just ok. I appreciate that they took a last minute appt booked the day before however I felt rushed from beginning to end so it was not a relaxing experience. I hate when I am constantly tapped, and my hands were pulled and twisted to make it easier for the technician even if it was uncomfortable for me. I am so happy I found this place! The salon is very clean and spacious, and the staff was very polite. Right now since they are fairly new they are offering discounts on certain services. It's $10 off the special spa pedicures! I forgot the name of the one I received, but I know it included a ten minute foot massage (omg sooo good) and callous remover. The woman (i think her name was celeste, so sorry if i spelt that wrong)who did my pedicure/mani was so good! I literally fell asleep for a few minutes while she gave me the massage! I was desperately needing my nails done on a rainy Wednesday night. I looked up nail salons on yelp and came across this JEM!! I called at about 7:15 to see if they'd take me and the guy on the phone had no problem. I got there at 7:30 and the lady who did my nails took her sweet time making sure they came out perfect. Didn't rush at all despite being closing time(they close at 8 and I didn't leave until 8:30). I was given a water bottle and given a message after my nails were complete. First time here. Amazing experience! I'm so glad my normal place was too busy and I walked in a bit too late. SAKURA was open until 8p, which I need with 2 lil ones at home and a husband that doesn't get home until 7p. It was beautiful, so clean, and I had the place to myself! They were so nice. I was handed a gift bag with a lotion, coupons for future visits, and a bottle of water as I sat down. I had the place to myself-such a treat! And the best part was they played soothing piano music rather than the news or an annoying talk show like my other place. It was so relaxing. Even though I finished after 8, I didn't feel rushed at all! They kept encouraging me to stay to dry a bit more. You can tell they are not cheap with the details either. After my usual spot in Oceanside (Wendy Nails) completely went to crap after new ownership, I've been in search of a clean, thorough and friendly nail salon. I walked in to Sakura on a Friday afternoon...the salon was empty! It was clean, the employees were friendly without being overbearing, and there was a special on the spa pedicures. Serene did my spa pedicure and did a great job. My only criticism on the service I received was that the callous remover was a bit too rough, and left my heels scratched...I had to do some scrubbing with a pumice when I got home. Parking could be difficult, but on that particular day, I had no trouble finding a spot in the back of the shopping center. I brought my own polish with me, but there were plenty to choose from at the salon. read more

HORRIBLE service and nail job. 10 out of 10 DO NOT RECOMMEND & would NEVER go again. First off, I love giving positive reviews & hate that I'm compelled to do this review. Randomly came across the salon and inquired about a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The man at the front was very nice and said yes, they could take me. He completed my pedicure which was basic, but no issues. Then he passes me off to female who was rude and huffing and puffing that she had to do my gel manicure. He then says : "oh we are closing can you come in the morning?" I said no because I have a wedding. She rudely pulls my hand and starts to paint, not a gel manicure. He then says "oh she can't do your nails because you have a baby. Just get a regular manicure and not gel." I said no thank you, I prefer gel. She proceeds to paint my nails, purposely filed them as I'm telling her she is hurting me & politely asked her to stop & she refuses. I then asked if she was going to do my cuticles (she was rushing and just jumped to painting them, never even washed them off or used polish remover for a clean surface). She huffed and puffed after the Male employee told her. My infant started crying and she kept blowing air. Then I moved my hands because a fly (there were three flies) kept swarming in the uv drying machine. She pulls my hand and says "keep it there." I explained there were multiple flies and then she looked and saw them and apologized. They laughed and killed the flies. Again three flies on my finger. GROSS! Again, I didn't complain. I paid and the person ringing says "no tip" I said absolutely NOT! She said "your nails look good." I said this is the worst gel (streaky polish & it chipped and this is only two hours later. ). Also, she was very rude, mad she had to do my nails, rushing me, never cleaned my nails and was initially avoiding even cutting my cuticles. She replies: well what about him. He did your pedicure.' No tip for man? I said "NO. This was horrible and I would never come back." He replied: "ok it's fine. You never come back." I said: you saw she was rude to Me. He didn't deny it, but suggested he should get a tip. Horrible service & the worse part is the quality SUCKS as well. I can overlook one or the other, not both. Save your money and go to Diva Nails in Seaford or Rainbow Nails in Oceanside. This place is HORRIBLE! But; the music is good. read more

Came here 3 weeks ago and was so excited that I found a wonderful place. Everything was clean and I was very pleased with my mani/pedi. Came back today for manis for me and my 2 daughters and a pedi for myself. I am shocked and disappointed at the terrible experience I had with the owner Patrick. I asked him to make my nails square but rounded. I was very unhappy with the shape and asked him to make them more round. He very rudely said this is round maybe you like round instead. When I asked why he didn't apply a base coat he rudely told me that the polish I selected didn't need a base coat and if I didn't believe him I could google it. When I asked for a design for my daughter's and myself he rudely said they don't do designs for free. I said I didn't ask for it to be free and asked him if he is always so polite. He asked what design I wanted and when I told him Minnie Mouse (we are going to Disney for vacation) he laughed at me. I quietly said I'd had enough and would take my business elsewhere He said fine - so apparently he doesn't need it. When I got up - with my nails still unfinished he realized I meant business and asked why I was leaving. I told him that he'd been very rude to me and that I didn't appreciate it he started having a very public melt down about how maybe I want him to be quiet and say "oh sorry sorry" but he plays basketball and drums and maybe that's why he talks loud. He stormed off and I ended up staying and having his wife and another woman finish our nails. He came back out later and tried to be polite and kind to my kids but the damage was done. Disappointed! They don't use liners for the pedicures, yuck! Haven't had a pedicure without a liner in years. The lady who did my pedi didn't follow my direction - cut my toe nails short, cut cuticles. I had to ask many times. I didn't enjoy the leg massage. I don't feel like the lady paid enough attention to what she was doing. She didn't look at what she was actually doing. Paid more attention to what was going on in the salon with other customers. I had the callous remover, the plastic wrap didn't cover my heels . My toe nails are different shapes. Every customer complained about something. it's a horrible place. i took 2 hours to get them done, the guy kept going back and fourth between customers he did someone's pedicure and then touched my hands. there so unsanitary and nasty. i won't be back! i payed $50 and 5 days later my nails fell off. other customers where also complaining because it was taking so long and that one guy was jumping back and fourth between 4 people. i got them done for my birthday and i am so disappointed, horrible salon save your time and go to another salon. disgusted and disappointed read more

I don't ever write reviews but i am this time. SO PLEASE READ. I went in to this nail salon because i heard it was new in town, there was nobody there so i asked for SNS (powder gel). They sat me down & started to take off what i had on my nails before then someone lady came in & he asked if she had an appt. & she said no i don't he then got up & started to do her nails & then someone else came to do mine (she was getting SNS as well) whatever right. The other guy came to do my nails & took a tool out of the desk & i asked is that clean ? he laughed & said yes, he then cut me i started to bleed & he put the tool back in his desk without wiping MY BLOOD off the tool. The nail tech next to us ask for a tool & gave her the one that i just bled all over & she started to use it on her client & i said i just bled on that tool & my nail tech said no no you didn't bleed .. yes i did. Next he didn't know what to do for SNS so he kept asking the nail tech next to us. after the 2 people that came in after me left about 30 min before i even finished.. i was there from 5 to about 715. NEXT DAY I could not bend my finger or move it. i went to DR to much sure i was okay & i wasn't i had a bad infection & am still taking antibiotics to get rid of it. Next i wasn't even doing anything with my hand & i felts something fall, it was the picture above my SNS just fell off like a push on nails would do .. how ? i don't know. I said whatever its not even worth going back because i don't need another infection BUT then 2 days later 3 more fell off... i went back & i asked them what happen this has never happens & they had nothing to say i told them they need to clean there tools bc i now have to take antibiotics with the COPAY of a DR visit bc these people are disgusting & don't clean there tools. anyways that was my rant for the day .. After a couple of days pedicure was peeling. So dissapointed. My other nail place I normally go to in NHP by my job had a wait so i went closer to home. I found it to be pricy for 20 for a pedicure, my normal place is 18 and includes a paraffin wrap for your heels and hot stone. This place is clean and equipment is in a peel pack. Today was my first visit at the new Sakura Nail Salon and I had a great experience! The staff was extremely friendly, and I had a nice conversation with the owner. The salon was spotless, extremely clean. I really appreciated the fact that my technician opened a fresh pack of tools for my manicure, so I knew they were using sterile equipment. My manicure looks great! The price was also very reasonable. I will definitely be going back and am optimistic Sakura will be my new favorite nail salon. Highly Recommend!!! read more
