When we dropped the car off and picked it up it was at our convenience. When the repairs were complete, minus a pair of nameplates that were on back order, Tim had us pick up the car and we returned later in the week for a few minutes to have the badges installed...we were very excited to return the rental and get our new car back, and the Lynch Auto team made sure it was in a timely manner. The repairs were of the highest quality, our Jetta looks fresh off the factory floor. It's also great that they are a locally owned, family business. This time I'm ready to report Lynch's inevitable bullying response via Yelp (top 3 dots in right hand corner of his response on a computer, not the app). Other displeased customers should do the same. He overcharges customers. Tried to charge $1k for a short tow (see attached). Also charges $150/day (see attached) for every day that customer's car sits in his lot even though insurance co says the norm is to begin charging once the repairs start. It could be weeks before repairs start. He refuses to provide invoices to customers in defiance of WI state law. If he did readily provide the invoices, it would prove he actually purchased parts used to repair vehicles. Since he refuses to provide these invoices, maybe the opposite is true. read more

Do not take your car here if you plan to pay out of pocket. I wanted a small local reliable shop and took my car in for an estimate. Final cost was almost twice what the estimate was and although the other persons insurance company was supposed to cover the repairs, Lynch would not negotiate so I had to pay out of pocket to get my car back. he kept my car for over two weeks. When I Googled "body shops near Sun Prairie', I had several options, but Lynch offered an online estimate. I uploaded my photos, and they contacted me with an offer to do the estimate in person at my convenience (my photo skills were not up-to-par). When you call/stop, you are dealing with the owner, and he was upfront that I should go through insurance due to the costs. He walked me through the process, set-up an appointment for the next week, and I was reassured that my car was in good hands. The entire office is covered in certificates showing their knowledge. The work took longer than expected, and I was told that was because they rejected the parts ordered by insurance and reordered new parts. My car looks as good as the day I bought it. If I had one complaint, I had to call for an update, as they did not follow-up to let me know it would take longer than expected. Other than that, they were responsive, helpful, and did great work. Plus, they took on the insurance company so my car would look better in the end. And that's priceless. Or in my case, the cost of my deductible. read more

I went to Lynch after I received what I thought was unreasonable estimate and poor service from Sparkle Auto Body. Sparkle, you did me a favor. I was pleased with the estimate I got from Lynch but more important, I can't say enough about the service. When they uncovered some additional damage, they called me and asked me to come over. Tim showed me what was discovered, so I was confident about the need for the repairs. He worked with the insurance companies and when one wouldn't respond, he let me know so I could follow up. My only concern is that the repairs took much longer than I had anticipated, but clearly that was because they found those unanticipated problems. When I picked up the car, Tim walked me through everything they had done so I know what they did and where. The repairs are seamless. You would never know the car had ever been damaged. I read the negative reviews here about Lynch's after my car had already been towed there by my insurance company. I was concerned, since they're in my neighborhood & I like to support local businesses. However, I went there not expecting too much and they ended up being life-savers in my situation. The fact was, my car had been totaled by a drunken, uninsured motorist, & it wound up sitting there a couple of weeks while I struggled with my insurance company before I could get it towed away. I couldn't get any help from my insurers at Liberty Mutual to get any coverage, contact the other party, or even to come out and make a report that the car was totaled so I could have it removed. I dealt with the owner, Tim Lynch, in this situation. He was very sympathetic and kind to me even though he was going through some tough times personally, and also the shop was very busy and had a lot of cars in their storage lot. Not only did he let my car stay there and never ended up charging me a cent for storage, he made calls to my insurance company to try and get them to come out and make an estimate. My insurance company was ultimately useless to me and he is going to be the one writing up the total loss report so I can pursue the other party to try and get some money. Now, I am sorry to hear of the experiences the other people had, but mine was indeed different. I know he's aware of these negative reviews & is actively trying to redeem himself and the reputation of his business. I don't know what to say about the letters to others threatening legal action, that sounds way out of line, but I don't see how he could possibly back that up if they are telling the truth about what happened, so they shouldn't have to worry about it. Still, that's not right and I plan to ask him for his side of the story, because what's the point if people can't speak freely here? --and on the other hand, these are all personal, individual opinions rather than news reports, the Better Business Bureau or Consumer Digest so the readers must decide for themselves. This is an honest review of my one and only experience with Lynch's, as I had never met them previously. I don't know if he's ever tried to write a response here to the other comments, but it's true that he did ask me just to write and be honest about my experience, if I was willing. Who knows, people often change for many reasons, I just know that I was very grateful for their help and patience and I plan to get the hail damage on my new old car fixed by them to try and return the favor. This is a very nice neighborhood and they've been in business here for many, many years. I think anyone who might go there should take all of this into consideration, and then make their own decision. I had my car towed by Prairie Land Towing in Sun Prairie to have my tire fixed, in the process they managed to hit my car which caused damage to the back end of my Mustang(I was not very happy). The car was sent over to Lynch for the body work and the end result was BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm very picky about my car and NOT ONLY WAS THE BODY WORK AMAZING but THE OWNER WAS JUST AS AMAZING!! He was the nicest guy I have ever met! You can't even tell anything was wrong with the back end of my car. I have never been more pleased than I am with Lynch.
