The market opens about an hour before the restaurant opens. We got here at 10am and only the market was open so while waiting for the restaurant to open at 11am, I got both the smoked fish dip ($10) and gulf shrimp dip ($10) to go. They packed it so well with plenty of ice, and also provided us generous handful of crackers as well. Both are super-flavorful. I love the freshness of the shrimp dip - and I think most will prefer the deep smokiness of the mahi dip - the texture is similar to tuna salad but much more flavorful. When the restaurant opened at 11am, we sat outside with our dog. We ordered a couple of dozens of fresh oysters. They were fresh and slightly sweet, served ice cold with a chilled bottle of cocktail sauce, a touch of horseradish, and a big lemon wedge. They also grab you a couple of packs of water crackers, which is a nice touch. Simple, clean, and delicious. The gumbo was hearty and full of flavor. It was packed with shrimp with a few slightly overcooked and small bay scallops that were perfectly tender. Still really enjoyable and filling. There's a large variety of hot sauces scattered across different tables, so you can customize your meal to your taste. November 2024 I have no idea how the food is, because the nasty waitress( looks like it was Lynn herself) asked me to leave with my service dog..he is registered, number and everything..I'm writing this review to let others know that this is not the place for you if you depend on a service dog to alert you to your medical problems. The waitress needs to be fired she literally jumped us about my service dog, told me to go out and go around to outside setting, never once asked me how she could be of assistance..nope started Maman me, I did try to educate her, a service dog has so many rights and she disregarded them, treated me and my life line like we were chit. I'd give her 0 stars, but it's not offered, but I am filing a federal complaint against this eating establishment Locals Laws and the ADA There are federal and state laws that apply to disabled handlers and their service dogs. Rights laid out by the ADA trump local laws in every case. Many states and counties have their own rules about animals in public places and businesses, but these do not apply to recognized service dogs. Regardless of where you are in the USA, no local laws can override the rights laid out in the ADA. Service dogs and handlers may have additional rights granted by local laws, but they may not be discriminated against based on the disability or the presence of a service animal. Next I am filing a complaint with our federal government..you have no right to discriminate against a disabled person and her life line. read more
