Passed this place a couple of times while on our way to our casa by the sea. Hubby wanted to stop and we were all glad he suggested it. This is a great spot to pick up some shrimp or other seafood on the Cape. The seafood is fresh and the prices fair. My significant other has decided he's going to eat steamed shrimp every day we are here. So he stops by frequently to get his shrimp fix. The shrimp is usually under $10 a pound depending on size (also get the largest they have) and you can pay an extra $1 a pound for them to steam for you. You can choose from a few different steaming options. Note that they weigh with the heads on so you usually end up with about 1/3 less of a pound once steamed. Sometimes they will also have specials where a pound of steamed shrimp is only $12 a pound. That seems like it's not a special, but this is weighed without the heads so you'll get a full pound of steamed shrimp. We also get other fish to make cioppino. This location also offers cooked lunch (mostly fried seafood). I have gotten the fried shrimp a few times since I am always a sucker for them. You get an option a side item. The fried shrimp are on the smaller side, but they are fried without the tails on so it's way easier and less messier to eat them. I'm very happy they have a location out on the Cape so we don't have to go almost all the way into town to visit their other location (although we do stop there too on the way back from the grocery store!). read more

Packed up the kids completely at the beach on out last day to get to St. Joe's Shrimp by 5:00 on a Saturday. We would have stayed a few hours longer at the beach and driven the 30 minutes to Port St Joe for food, but we read St. Joe's Shrimp's awesome reviews and were looking forward to some crab cakes and hush puppies. We walked into an empty store with no other customers where two employees were sweeping up. They said they couldn't steam any food for us even though it's posted online that they they steam until 5:30 and are open until 6 for frozen seafood. They wouldn't sell anything frozen either because they "had too many call in orders already." Don't make plans around this place's posted hours. Everyone else on the peninsula has been so friendly, but these employees didn't want to be bothered with us on a Saturday evening. read more

The employee was very friendly, she even told me of a couple crabbing spots when asked. We bought a $20 bag of steamed jumbo shrimp with the house spices. They had really fresh fishes, but we had bought some fishes an hour before at another market. Shrimp was excellent, fresh & tasty. We even caught some blue crabs at the place she told us.
