Blue Parrot absolutely delivered a 5-star experience from start to finish. The waitlist moved pretty quickly and honestly, it's hard to complain when you can visit the tiki bar while you wait. The location is unbeatable and the outdoor area/seating is steps from the beach with unobstructed views of the Gulf. The food was excellent and each staff member we interacted with was so kind, patient, and welcoming. Even as the evening wound down and a few tables (including ours!) lingered after closing, no one ever made us feel rushed. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated on vacation. Highly recommend the seafood, especially the scallops and oysters! We just ate at the Blue Parrott.  Quite disappointed. Bloody Mary not too good, the calamari was cold and not at all crispy.  We ordered baked oysters but they were cold and stuck to the shell.  Gumbo had a ketchup-ish consistency.  Also ordered a crab cake sandwich.  Took it out of the huge bun to just eat the crab cake but only ate 1/2 of it.  The slaw was pretty good. Tables and chairs were dirty... Paper towels were wet. We were surprised because we have always loved this place. Don't know what to make of it. read more

Came here on a weekend with some coworkers and was promptly seated on a Saturday evening. The place was pretty busy considering the population of the area. I really liked the ambiance on the patio with the tiki torches lit up at night. We ordered smoked yellowfin tuna dip, calamari, and Jalapeno poppers for the table. We were mainly here for drinks. The calamari and jalapeno poppers were good. The smoked yellowfin tuna dip was awful. It tasted like canned tuna salad. I also had a sand blaster which is their signature drink with 151 and it was pretty good. A little sweet but I would order it again. No complaints about the service. This year we visited twice for lunch over a two-week span. We love the beachfront location of the Parrot with its' great view of the Gulf and the great servers (Dingler this year). We had steamed shrimp (large and sweet - outstanding), Grouper Basket x2 (Outstanding), Raw Oysters - farm raised on the island (Very Good), Onion Rings (always great), cole slaw (very good), hush puppies (always good) and Grouper Tacos (Very Good). Really enjoyed dinner at Blue Parrot recently. In my opinion, it's the best restaurant on the island, and I especially loved that it's right on the beach with fabulous views. The breading is pretty thick on scallops and oysters, so the breading wasn't as cooked as I would've preferred. Loved the atmosphere. Wasn't too loud and the view of the gulf was nice. I came to meet some family who was staying here in St Georges and they have eaten here many times and enjoyed the food, so I was excited to try it out. I had the fish tacos (grilled mahi) and they were so flavorful. The crema sauce on them might have been my favorite part! But they would have stood well on their own too. The tortillas were perfectly soft and fresh. The fries were also great! I dipped them in the cocktail sauce (highly recommend for a switch up from ketchup). For appetizers we had oysters - Parmesan melted on them. I ate so many oysters at so many places this trip but I think these were my favorite. We sat outside since the weather was gorgeous and the views were almost as good as the food! The service was lovely and fast even tho it was fairly crowded. They did a wonderful job. One clear indication of how good a testament is might be if you eat there one day and then return the next and order exactly what you had the day before. Very unusual for us, but the Blue Parrot is a great find! We sat outside on the lower deck overlooking the Gulf, very comfortable, beautiful view. Coupled with the tropical foliage along the side and menu offerings this place has a decidedly Key West vibe to it (NOT Duval madness, think instead Louie's Backyard). Misty and Morgan were our servers on these 2 days, both friendly, helpful, personable, and very efficient. Both very careful in working around my wife's dietary limitations. And the food was exceptional: grilled scallops, cheese grits and salad for my wife, and grilled grouper tacos and salad for me. The scallops were numerous and perfectly cooked and my grouper tacos unquestionably the best fish tacos I have ever eaten. With a glass of wine apiece our tab was $80 before tip and with a bottle of wine it was $100 before tip. This is the #1 restaurant on St. George Island for good reasons: outstanding food, service and atmosphere! read more

We were immediately seated (no reservation needed) with phenomenal views of the beach and Gulf. Server was quick to take the order and kitchen was prompt in preparation. Everyone loves their food! I had the burger and can't wait to go back and have another one. With a fish allergy it is hard to find good non-seafood in this seafood town BUT this burger hit the spot and was thick, not oily, not burnt, no fish taste, not salty, and easy to manage. Loved it. Everyone else cleaned their plates and had nothing but good things to say. My almost 2 granddaughter loved the view and if up to her, would have spent all her time on the beach.
