Though it was super busy (it was July 4th weekend), the baristas were super sweet and extremely helpful when it came to picking drinks. My aunt from Vietnam was visiting and the barista helped us pick a drink for her, which she loved! I got the orange hojicha latte (so good! literally have been thinking about this drink since then) and the strawberry matcha latte! The rotating specialty lattes were great! I loved the banana cream pie latte, and the tiramisu one was amazing. My boyfriend thought the baklava latte was just okay. It's a bit pricey for specialty drinks, but the area is nice, and the shop is cute with some outdoor seating, I'd go back! read more

I meandered over to Lyon Street Cafe after grabbing some bakery goodies next door at Nantucket Baking. Both shops are located side by side. I feel like these guys are in cahoots and working together for each other's benefit, which I am down with. Nantucket Bakery does not sell coffee or beverages, and Lyon Street Cafe sells all kinds of coffee but very little food items. So if you want coffee or other beverages, then you should visit Lyon Street Cafe. I just wanted a cup of black coffee, which Lyon Street Cafe has, of course. But even better: This place has tiny cups of coffee! And by tiny, I mean 8 ounces. I love that Lyon Street Cafe serves 8-ounce cups of coffee, because that's the perfect size for me. Sometimes, most times, I just want some coffee but not a giant fistfull of coffee that will put me over the edge. Eight diminutive ounces is a great serving for me. I visited for the black coffee, but Lyon Street Cafe also serves lattes (including tea lattes), hot and cold tea, hot chocolate, and other drinks. There are lots of tables at which to sit. I love the vegan chia seed pudding and they always have the latest vegan treats from sweet batches. they have drink specials outside of the normal menu which is what I look for at a coffee shop. the strawberry matcha is good but not the best i've had. it's a little bitter for my taste. my partner loves the nola cold brew which is a chicory coffee. he also claims they have the best vanilla latte which is his go to at most places. i'm excited for the fall/winter specials to come. It can get busy inside but despite a long line, the drinks are made relatively quickly. seating can be hard to find on the weekends. in the winter they have the super cute individual a-frame pods outside. We love hitting the trifecta - lyon street cafe, nantucket bakery, and martha's. it's a great place for treats. read more

First time going to Lyon Street Cafe and we truly enjoyed our time here! It was quite packed but we had been warned of this in advance and I just assumed it must be good if this many people are here and waiting in line. :) The long line went pretty fast thankfully and we were able to order a mocha latte and the special baklava latte. There was a moment we did feel out of place waiting for our drinks but it was just a busy day. Our name was called and we both loved our drinks. The mocha was incredibly smooth and I loved the nutty flavors in the baklava latte. So good! Besides the coffee being good and the people being so kind to us there, this coffee shop is gorgeous and has a lot of simple white and black everywhere. The aesthetic is on point! I stopped at Lyon Street Cafe recently with my mom and sister. It was a rainy day, so perfect for a a caffeine pick me up. The cafe is very cute, boasting a bright space with lots of lights and a good number of tables to meet with friends, or cowork. The have a great menu of speciality beverages as well as a seasonal menu and a delicious case of pastries! I loved the flavor combination they offered, such as orange honey, rosemary, lavender, yuzu and plenty of unique beverages. Service was friendly and though I wish I could have enjoyed in a mug onsite, we took them to go as we had plans. I had a half sweet lavender & rosemary latte and it was lovely. Lyon Street Cafe has several two-person greenhouses that you can sit in and enjoy a latte or do a bit of work. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to grab the last open one on a sunny winter day during COVID (currently no dine-in service in Michigan). I ordered an oat latte and he got a cappuccino. It was a little over $9 total for the two drinks. The girl taking my order was super polite and sweet and the drinks were made quickly. They have a pretty extensive drink menu and a few toast options. I chose to pick up a spinach and cheese bialy from Nantucket next door. The latte was ok but definitely not as good as my favorite latte from Kaffeine. It just wasn't as creamy as I was expecting. I would probably get something else next time, maybe a mocha or a tea latte. The greenhouse was very toasty warm inside! We actually ended up opening the door a crack to vent it. There's a heater inside that doesn't seem to have a way to adjust the output or temperature. There's no table inside, just two chairs, which made it a little difficult for working with a laptop. We just were there for a little under an hour to get a bit of work done and soak up some sun! The greenhouses are first come, first served and no reservations are required. These folks obviously take their coffee seriously but what stands out is the service and professionalism even on very busy weekend mornings. Examples - they ask how to spell everyone's name ordering, they keep the drink order of expresso drinks exactly the ordering order even when it gets really long, they take time to explain tasting notes on the brews to each customer who asks, for "opinion" type questions multiple barista opinions are offered to the customer so they get a reflection. Many regulars here greeted with warmth but so are newbies. It's fun to watch the process of different kinds of coffee making. The bakery items from the Nantucket Bakery next door and the welcoming vibe with the warm welcoming lights is something I'm so glad to see every time I step my foot into the door. Basic yet elegant inside. There's not a ton to the place. It's inside of a neighborhood connected to a bakery and butchery and next to a market and pizza place. The menu is basic looking but it's a coffee shop so they can make anything with multiple flavors to choose from. The dirty chai I had was outstanding. The guy at the counter was friendly and we even talked about other coffee shops! They don't have their own baked goods but they carry quality ones (look next door!). I stopped by this cafe today because the weather is absolutely beautiful and I worked from home today. My husband and I are regulars at Martha's Vineyard and I spide this little cafe and thought maybe I can make this a regular haunt since it's a short walk away. It was my first time visiting the cafe and the space was bright and inviting. I asked the gentleman working if they sold cold beverages. He simply directed me to look at the menu that was placed on the counter. It would have been nice if he had made a suggestion or taken the opportunity to ask if this was my first visit, or if I liked tea or coffee. As someone that has worked in the service industry for many years, it's nice to engage with customers sometimes. I ordered a latte that was very delicious and I will be back again. Thanks! read more

The perfect place for a coffee date! I had a cortado, which was great, and priced well at $3ish. It was smooth and rich! I also got one of the vegan brownies and it was incredible! I think I would go back just for another brownie, honestly :) The seating situation is open booths, but it was kind of disappointing that almost every single one of them (no exaggeration) was occupied by a single person on their laptop. Finally tried this place this morning and really enjoyed it. Around noon on a Sunday and it was packed. People were waiting for tables but the staff was extremely friendly and quick with their drinks. I have no idea what the treat was that I ordered but it had peanut butter and was very rich but extremely tasty. The hot chocolate was presented perfectly and tasted great. This cafe is great for people working on their laptops and studying while enjoying some drinks. We will definitely be back! read more
