Laderach Chocolatier Shop not only looks delicious but also smells delicious. We stopped by on a Thursday afternoon. We were a few stores down from Laderach and we can smell the sweet scent of chocolates from a far. We decided to stop by and check out this fancy and yummy chocolate shop. As soon as we came in Laderach, the sales people were welcoming and greeted us. They also offered some samples and any sample of our choosing. We tried the strawberry chocolate and milk chocolate. They were both delicious. The chocolate was perfect. It was quality chocolate and semi sweet and not too rich. The combination with the dried strawberries were a perfect blend and balance. We left the store and purchased a couple of the pre packed milk chocolate and the strawberry chocolate. We can't wait to comeback to try other types of chocolates on Laderach's menu. read more

I m not a big fan of chocolate, but I do love me some good chocolate here and there. Once in a while, I will get some from here for my special humans and for myself hehhe I gotta admit, the chocolate here is good. I esp enjoy the hazelnut w/almonds. They tend to give that one out as samples. The other chocolates are good as well. So I usually get a mixtures from the display case and some packaged ones. I do have to say the staffs could be judgy, which sukz. Sometimes, they will offer me some samples and sometimes, I do just ask for it. I feel it would be better if they just ask all the customers. That way customers will not feel left out or having the feeling of being treated differently. read more

My fiancé and I came to the Galleria on a mission: buy a gift for our son at GameStop and leave immediately before our wallets took emotional damage. Rich, creamy, crunchy, sinful... basically chocolate that whispers, "You deserve this." The staff? Super friendly and dangerously encouraging. The store? Small, bright, beautifully merchandised--minimalist Swiss luxury vibes. The chocolates? Divinely indulgent. It instantly transported me back to Europe, standing outside Lindt, watching chocolatiers scrape, spread, and turn molten chocolate like it's edible art. Läderach delivers that same magic--except now I'm the one eating it instead of just staring longingly through a window. I've been gifted Läderach chocolate before, so it was a nice surprise to come across one today at the Glendale Galleria. The store is very pretty, but for a place that serves high-end chocolate, I expected staff to be a bit more knowledgeable. When I asked what was popular, the employee just pointed at a few items and then toward the back, saying, "..and the strawberry." I also had to ask if they offered samples. After she handed me mine, she didn't ask if my husband wanted to try anything. I ended up breaking off part of my piece to share with him and she watched us do that twice. It was a little embarrassing IMO. We still walked out with a purchase. The overall experience felt unwelcoming. Unfortunately, it's unlikely we'll be back. Three stars: the chocolate is yummy and beautifully made, but the overall experience fell short. read more

What a fancy chocolate spot. Not in a bad way either. Nice and elegant design. Staff was nice but couldn't really answer any food allergy questions. FYI for those who do have food allergies. They were giving out free samples of many different flavors. I tried the strawberry and Dubai choclate flavors. Both really good! This place is located near Bloomingdales in the Glendale Galleria. They always have the best samples and the best assortment of bark (though they will not let you try their Dubai chocolate). I love all of the dark chocolate barks with nuts and the espresso one is also full of intense coffee flavor. It gets busy so wish it was a little bigger but service is always good as well. read more

My favorite chocolate store. The best variety for vegans and non vegans alike. I can really taste that Swiss difference. My favorite here is the dark chocolate hazelnut. I never tasted fresher hazelnuts in chocolates before. It's so crunchy and nutty, the way it should be. The best kept secret here is that you can sample as many as you want (they never told me no even when I was up to my 5th or 6th sample). Very generous and the service is always on point. This store sells Swiss made chocolate. Chocolates are made In Switzerland and shipped here. You can't go wrong with Swiss chocolate. They usually have a staff offering samples of their chocolates. If you like sample of a certain kind of chocolate , just ask the staff. They will give it to you. Staff are nice and friendly and answer all the questions regarding the chocolates. I visited them recently and they had a selection of Easter Chocolate which they were so cute. I got the white raspberry chocolate which was so good. I highly recommend this chocolate. It was my favorite experience at a Laderach store ever--and I have shopped at a few locations in the U.S., as well as several in Switzerland. She carefully and attractively wrapped my chocolates. I stopped by this Laderach chocolate store today while I was shopping in Glendale Galleria mall. I walked past the store first because I didn't see anyone inside but saw someone in front with a tray so I made a U turn and walked back into the store. The moment I walked inside, the people holding the tray asked if I wanted to try a sample. I got to pick between the dark chocolate or white chocolate so I went with the dark chocolate with peanut. I thought it was okay but didn't like the peanut. I looked at some of the gift box they had in the store but the prices were kind of high. Even for the pack of like 5 chocolates, the price was still high. You can make your own box too and pick what chocolate you want but I didn't go for that option. Laderach, mmmm! One of those places that screams gourmet chocolate, potentially outside of my budget, but still needing a visit. My first sighting was in Westfield Century City, and I was surprised to also see a location here in Glendale Galleria. I stepped in to sample their hazelnut dark chocolate. There were a ton of staff working at the time, from sorting shipments to handling purchases and handing out samples. Though I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate, these chocolates definitely make for great gifts, Will definitely be returning soon to purchase some for friends abroad. read more

The chocolate here is amazing quality that you can taste, so many different options, all equally delicious. The only thing sweeter than the chocolate is Layla. Layla was the cherry on top to this whole experience, she was incredibly sweet, letting us sample the options, and very helpful with having us find something we like. She can put you on to a chocolate and blow your mind. I'm not a dark chocolate fan, but she put me on to a chocolate that's dark chocolate that I liked. She pointed out that a chocolate I was interested in, the white chocolate with almonds, pistachios and oranges was one of her favorites too, which was crazy coincidence, she even let me try some before I made a purchase of it, and I have to say, I see why she hyped it up so much. Layla was super well informed, telling us about all sorts of different chocolates and how pure they were. We definitely will be buying here when we make visits! Don't get me wrong, I understand the chocolates are Swiss made and shipped over, but it's still a crazy thing to wrap your mind around. The employees are nice and let you sample. However when you ask for a certain amount like a budget of $10-20, it got a little weird. They break off these giants slabs of chocolate for you and when it was still too pricy per weight for me I asked them to break off more. I thought they'd keep the broken chunks on the side since they give samples away but they just dumped the rest I wasn't purchasing into the trash. That was disheartening. Not only is it a pricy product. But a waste of resources that were put into creating and shipping it. I'm not fond of their environmental impact. read more

I love Laderach! They are pricey but make excellent chocolates. Today I got 1/4 lb of the black berry dark chocolate bark. So delicious. I need to savor every morsel as it is very expensive at $78/lb. Heard with the new tariffs the prices of chocolates will rise. Sad about this but it is what it is. Not having visited Switzerland in many years. I was happy to find a Swiss chocolatier in the Glendale Galleria. My wife and I have many fond memories of smooth tasting chocolate inundation with specific tree nuts (in what seems like a past life) that we couldn't walk away from this shop. There was a person offering samples and having tried a small morsel we knew we were in the right place...smooth chocolate and crunchy hazelnut in every bite reminded us of our travels through Switzerland before we had the kids and real responsibilities. The person at the counter explained that we could purchase (from slabs of chocolate ) by weight and we ended up getting 1/8 pound of dark chocolate macadamia and 1/8 of milk chocolate hazelnut. There were other combinations of chocolate and tree nut...we chose our favorites. In terms of prices, it's booth cheap and expensive depending on how you look at it. If you had to fly to Switzerland to have Swiss chocolate then buying any amount at this shop is cheap. However, if you're not into the subtlety of Swiss chocolate vs Belgian (which is common in the US), then any amount is expensive. For my wife and me, every bite brought back memories...of a chocolate texture and taste experience that is uniquely Swiss. read more

Hard to downgrade to other brands after trying their chocolate. Usually, I just snack on last year's halloween candy leftovers for my chocolate fix but this is something else. Awesome customer service as they let you sample to your heart's content. I always ask for a tiny piece but end up getting a big chunk haha. Just the right sweetness and sublime flavor. It's alright. Chocolates yummy and presentation is cute. I don't really expect much when it comes to customer service at a mall but I just thought the kid who checked us out was kinda weird. He was standing there talking to his two coworkers and after a minute of standing there waiting to be charged he just stood in front of the cashier and stared at us. We awkwardly handed him the chocolate and he didn't even say how much or asked how was everything or any of the basic formalities. And while my husband was paying with his card he just walked off. No receipt, no thank you, nothing. Didn't even offer us a bag.... We stood there for a minute asking ourselves if that's it? And we just stared at him as he had walked back to his coworkers and was joking around. We were just like okay I guess and left. This is my first time visiting this location and although they are not as friendly as other locations I've been to, they workers were still nice. They were holding a plate of samples and we each got to try 2 pieces. Their chocolates are so smooth and creamy. Flavors are also unique! I originally had Laderach when they came to the South Coast Plaza and was amazed at how good the chocolate was. Laderach has taken over the Glendale Godiva location and honestly Godiva in general. The chocolate is good but it is quite pricey. You are looking at about $55/pound. You will have the ability to try out any flavor your want before you buy. They also have many seasonal flavors throughout the year for you to come back in and check in. If the chocolate bark is not your thing, they do also have truffle pieces and other chocolate options to choose from! My favorite is the chocolate cornflake and my wife's is the strawberry white chocolate! The almond chocolate is great too! In terms of just chocolate - I believe this chocolate is far superior to Godiva and Sees Candy! read more

I've been waiting for this place to come to the west coast! Was walking around the mall and stopped dead in my tracks when I saw the store. I had to go in and get some goodies for me and the family. Joe and Arte (excuse me, if I spelled their names wrong) were so helpful. They answered all my questions and even gave us some samples. It used to be that the place was welcoming and offered samples. You go in there now and the employees barely crack a smile, don't offer samples and just seem put out. The guy with the beard and the female that work there acted like they did not want to be there. It's not like their stuff is cheap. Before other staff members that were they were nice and offered samples and were warm. Purchased a gift card today and least they could have done was offer a stinking sample or show some engagement. I need a fix for my sweet tooth so I came today at Laderach to get my favorite Strawberry Curd. The store is very nice, clean, and with proper lighting. The service was also fast and I was very happy to be assisted by Earvin. He is the best! He made suggestions which I really liked.
