I have mixed feelings... I liked that they had an almost full size fridge and a big yard area to hangout and a view (across m-22) of the bay. I am skeptical of the cleanliness of this place! Under the bed was really dirty and we found a pacifier and a pop bottle that were not ours.. just makes me wonder what else isn't cleaned! Ew!

HORRIBLE place! Once you walk in you're hit with a musty moldy smell! We woke up to find what appeared to be bed bugs. Turns out it was "just a roach" according to the lady who answered the office phone. She was rude and said they get them every year. Will not be back!

Wow! I'm pretty sure this is the nicest "motor lodge" I've ever seen! While cute and tidy, it doesn't really look like anything special from the outside but the rooms are a delightful surprise! Our room was large and clean with nice new-looking soft carpet, no musty smell (even on a wet April day) and has about all the amenities you need. (We were in room 4) there's a little table and kitchenette, couch, flat screen TV and two nice queen-sized beds. Oh! And a nice little walk in closet! (Nice water pressure/shower; well ventilated room - not stuffy or drafty, etc. My favorite part is that the building is shaped to let each room have a front door and a back door as well as large windows on each side of the building too!!! Lots of natural light and pleasant views even though you're not on the water side of M22. The price was great ($105 after tax in April) especially compared to the $100 we spent last night at a fine but boring (and stuffy) Comfort inn in Traverse City! I'd love to stay here again and will definitely refer friends looking to stay in the area.

Clean, big room with that Up North charm. Before I could call to request an early checkin, they called ME to let me know my room was ready and awaiting my arrival.

My wife booked this and it is not good. We apparently had a luxury room because we had an extra roll of TP because our friends in the next room had none. This was a really nice place in 1964 and hasn't been cleaned or remodeled since. Mold under sink, water leaking out of refrigerator and you have to book two nights so you can't re-think what you paid for this $200 + a night

DO NOT STAY HERE!! #1. Overall cleanliness was very unsatisfactory #2. Stained and Dirty carpeting #3. Stained cushions #4. No working heat for the room (ongoing issue, not a new issue) and solution was a portable heater. #5.Grounds were not maintained. #6.RODENTS... YES, MICE. Multiple mice living in the walls of the building crawling in and out of holes in the poorly maintained building. *When we brought this to their attention and explained our concerns with continuing our stay we ask if they could accommodate any refund for the 2nd night that we would not be using. Mind you, this incident occurred in the morning, and we were vacating we in the morning hours. When the "General Manager " David returned our call he abruptly did not offer any accommodations and continued to say "What do expect you are up north" and "we should be happy with the rates we were given due to Covid" Speaking of Covid... With business being closed and just recently reopening, they had every opportunity to clean and no necessary repairs and updates. And with the Health guidelines that are required for all business to follow I would think they would be in violation with the current conditions of this property. We, left without a refund of any kind and booked the Comfort Inn for the same price which was not only clean, had a great friendly staff, a shuttle service, and an open pool. Most importantly it was RODENT FREE!!

Nice little motel right on M22. Clean, quiet, VERY comfortable beds, and down-free bedding for those that are allergic. We had our dog with us (65lb. Catahoula,) and the pet fee was only $10 for the night. Total for the night including tax was $105.99. Not bad for the area, especially for a pet friendly place. I'd stay here again.

Great location, easy access to the west bay. 5 minutes to downtown Suttons Bay and 10 from traverse City. Right cost. Friendly staff

It's a good place to stay for fairly cheap for the traverse area. Clean but nothing to fancy. Good place to lay your head for night!!

You couldn't find two better hosts than Jim and Linda. But what about breakfast, you ask? That's great too. Our first morning was Almond Ciabatta French Toast with Michigan maple syrup and locally produced breakfast sausage. The next morning was this soufflé sort of dish with hash browns, mushrooms, and eggs served in a small bowl, with bacon on the side. Locally baked multi-grain bread was served with fresh Michigan preserves. Every day, there's a fresh fruit cup with berry yogurt and their delicious Korner Kottage Krunch (see KK website for details). Basic idea though, this is the best granola I've ever had. Otherwise, our room (Paris) was comfy and clean. The screened in front porch is nice for winding down with a good book. The location is perfect for walking around downtown, and is across the street from the beach. A quick drive takes you to wineries slightly North, to Old Mission Peninsula, and to downtown Traverse City. Free wi-fi too. Yelper alert--while sitting inside Korner Kottage, my iPhone yelp app said I couldn't check in because I was 2.2 miles away. Not sure if this is due to AT&T coverage, or the app.

So my wife and I stayed at the Vineyard Inn for the last 3 nights for our first anniversary. The…read moreInn was nice, but is capable of so much more! First off, the exterior is in need of some tree and bush trimming. They have a couple of light posts out front, both of which are completely covered with vines and one of them even has the vines growing inside of the light itself. The tree right in front that hangs over the circle drive has branches hanging so low, you have to walk all the way around it and they have a fountain in the center of the circle drive that has been re-purposed as a flower bed, but there were no flowers in it, just dirt so it looked very tacky and unmanaged. In fact there are many planters around the front of the inn that had no plants in them and were just dirt. We had a Lakeview Suite which was nice, it was clean, but as other reviewers had mentioned there are areas where you can tell corners were cut during the remodel or that they just need more attention and there isn't a handyman onsite. The tops of the tub enclosures need to be caulked, the window blind in our room was broken, the sliding screen door is hard to open and close and doesn't roll smoothly, the mini fridge with freezer needs to be defrosted to get rid of the 2" of ice buildup inside, and the shower head is in dire need of either replacement or a deep cleaning with CLR. The beds were kind of uncomfortable. I think they advertize them as being a pillow top mattress and if they are, the pillow top has been heavy worn out. The beds sounded too like that had a plastic sheet over them (you know the type you use on beds when kids can't hold it through the night) although I never pulled the fitted sheet off to check. It was nice that every room has either a patio or balcony attached with chairs and the views of the bay from the rooms are great! Many spots outside on the lawn and beach to sit and having the bonfire pits lit at night was really nice. They had bean bag toss set up in the back for guests to use as well. They have a restaurant attached too, Corky's. We were going to have dinner there Thursday night when we arrived after being on the road for that last 8 hours, but they were closed and are only open on the weekends even though their website states "Open Daily for Dinner at 5:00", so we had to go somewhere else. After that night, we read the reviews for Corky's and opted to continue going elsewhere for dinner. By the way, the plants are so overgrown in the front around Corky's sign that all you can read is "orky's". We thought it odd as well on how not busy Corky's was. They have a great looking space, right on the water, with a great outdoor bar and yet on a busy Friday and Saturday night, they had maybe 5 or 6 tables with guests, the bar was closed, and just barely had any business, and yet almost every restaurant in downtown Suttons Bay, only 2 miles away, has a wait to get in the door. So, all in all, not a bad experience, just not exactly what I thought I was getting for how much I paid a night to stay there. I think I'll watch for some more positive reviews from Yelpers though before we decide to go back.

I had planned a very special dinner celebration for my sister and her husband's 50th wedding anniversary. We had a reservation for 10 which was confirmed 2 weeks prior via the owner. First let me start with the good, the place is absolutely gorgeous and has all kinds of amenities and games for the guests to enjoy. The cabins are quaint and comfortable. That being said, the management and owner are the most unprofessional people I've ever had to encounter as a PAYING guest. My friend had her wedding here this past weekend, and instead of raving about how beautiful the place is I left that place with an AWFUL taste in my mouth and absolute disappointment. If there was a way for the manager to make things difficult on my friend and her guests, she did it. The manager was extremely rude and uncooperative from the get go. My friend came to her with concerns about cobwebs in the cabins and the manger yelled at her and accused her of "looking for problems." She yelled at my friend (THE BRIDE) in front of other guests! There was a complete lack of communication between employees. Most of them were amicable and happy to help but they would tell us one thing and the manager would turn around and tell us another. She handled herself extremely unprofessionally. Also, we had unseasonably warm weather this past weekend and the cabins don't have air conditioning. The resort has fans that the guests can request to be brought to their cottages. The day of the wedding was 91 degrees and the manager threw a fit over having to get the fans out because they had been put away for the winter already. I am in the service industry and I cannot believe the way this woman spoke to myself and many others. I cannot believe she still has a job! When we contacted the owner to resolve the issues he came around and spoke to some guests but never apologized for the manager's behavior. He instead came into one of the cabins-where everyone had moved inside because they have an ordinance that the DJ had to stop at 10pm- and proceeded to YELL and PITCH A FIT (not exaggerating) that we were being disrespectful because of the music level. Not ONCE did he address us before that in a civil manner about the music. NOR did he approach the bride and groom to ask them to accommodate the ordinance. He just burst in (didn't knock) and starting yelling like a crazy neighbor. Had he addressed us in a professional manner we would have turned it down and accommodated his requests. Instead we were all sent to bed at 12:30 like children at a summer camp. All in all, the bride and groom paid LOTS of money to rent the place for the weekend and seeing the bride sob MULTIPLE times over the treatment we all received was devastating. That is NOT how your wedding weekend should go. I will NEVER recommend this place
