He stated about 2 weeks to complete the job and he'd call me when it was completed. He took care to protect the new tailgate, and even explained some dings in the metal that he'd take care of as the job progressed. A very fair price was agreed on and deposits make, receipted, and I left comfortable with his outstanding positive manner. On the time frame he'd stated I got the call to pickup the tailgate. The painting, no runs, errors and totally cover all surfaces. He explained the procedure that he was going to do, and it was accomplish to that discussion. He even went as far as to reassemble the old mechanism of the old gate to the new one. This was far and above the original job request. There was only one time that Gerber called me. at that point I was told the car would be done that afternoon or the next morning.... 6 days later we FINALLY got our car back. this took so long that we lost of the use of the rental car before we got out car back. the paint work that they did was quite flawless. I mean gorgeous. I was impressed. as I'm standing there admiring what I'd consider to be very good work, I look towards the back of my car and see a wrinkle in the C-pillar. this was brought to their attention and some discussion about it started. "our guys are all top notch. if this happened in our shop they would've brought it to attention so it could've been fixed." this was the official response. that didn't change the fact that there was damage that couldn't be accounted for. the general manager came out and we all chatted in the parking lot about all of this. he even stated, "it's out of my hands. I can't do anything until corporate approves it." I guess all I can say is at least they'll never have to deal with me again because none of my vehicles will ever return to that business ever again. the damage to the car bothers me a whole lot less than the attitude of the general manager. I don't believe there was any meanness in this or that they were trying to cover for a bad employee but, something happened while my car was in their care and they just decided it wasn't their problem. very sad. This should've been my first red flag. They quoted me $2000 total for the damages from our Tesla. I went to another collision shop who actually do work on Tesla's and their damage estimate was 6500. This is more realistic as everybody knows Teslas can be expensive to repair. If you have a Tesla, I highly do not recommend going to this place. Also, the estimate took almost 3 days to acquire, whereas the other place I went to created an estimate for me and took pictures in under an hour.
