Hey, you know I love you, right? So don't take it personally when I tell you I'm not sharing any of my M&S Meats beef jerky with you. I want to be clear about this. So I'm telling you up front. Don't get any ideas. Don't ask for a piece. Just leave me be. Better yet, go online and order you some for yourself. That's the smart move. M&S Meats jerky is the absolute best I've ever had, and I've been eating jerky for over fifty years. It's best by a wide margin. It's way better than any other jerky I know of. It's kinda pricey, too. But this jerky is totally worth it. It's a treasure. Maybe a more generous soul would gladly share their treasure with you. I suggest you go looking for that person, 'cause for sure I ain't him. M&S has so many wonderful jerkies to choose from. I have tried a few different ones but I always come back to the Original. I get the Original erry time. Once in a while I'll add a package of Black Pepper Jerky to my order. That Black Pepper jerky is hella good. If you are used to eating inferior jerky, this jerky might seem "tough" and a little hard to chew. That's because this is real jerky. Real, authentic jerky. It's chewy, as it's supposed to be. When you tear off a strip and pop it into your mouth you have to chew a little bit to get it going. And when it gets going, you better hold on to something, because you're about to experience a slow motion tsunami of rich beefy flavor being released inside your mouth. The flavor just does not quit. Chew it slowly and savor that flavor. Soooo satisfying! M&S Meats jerky is so great because it is made from choice cuts of whole muscle meat. This jerky is hand-cut, hand-hung and hand-smoked. This jerky is about as far as you can get from the chopped and formed abominations you might find for sale in a plastic tub next to the cash register at your local liquor store. If you love beef jerky, or you love someone who does, I recommend you try some M&S Meats jerky. I get shipments on the reg. I usually buy four or five packages at a time. Omg their goodies are delicious that we tried. My sister sent me some Buffalo jerky and Huckleberry pie filling. Their pie filling its perfectly sweet. I love that they don't overload with sugar you can still taste that yummy Huckleberry goodness. I'd definitely buy it again and again. Now their jerky is hard jerky like we love it. My family has been coming here for years to buy jerky and pepperoni. My husband and I stop in frequently when we visit home. We grew up in Montana and our family lives on Flathead. " -M&S Meats Yelp Business website. The jerky arrived promptly, well packed and the order was complete. Unfortunately the jerky ingredients didn't reflect the above statement, i.e. "no chemicals". The buffalo jerky has MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) as the fifth additive. I incorrectly assumed the other jerky followed the Yelp statement above, but that's not the case. The Original Beef Jerky not only had MSG in two additives, it has the chemicals of BHA and BHT, short for Butylated Hydroxyanisole and Butylated Hydroxytoluene. How is this an Old West style that typically had about 6 or 7 ingredients? Hopefully this review is helpful to others who may have an allergy to MSG and/or BHT. It's really unfortunate when those will the allergies search out products that are safe, yet to be misled with false advertising. To the folks who enjoy this and don't have the allergies to the chemicals, please enjoy this jerky! To the owners, y'all got me! There is no better Buffalo Jerky in the USA! I lived in Spokane WA and Billings MT for a combined total of 20 years. Just about every year we made a trip to Glacier NP. The trip was not complete without a stop at M&S meats for Buffalo Jerky. I have tried just about every vendor's buffalo jerky in Montana and I still like M&S the best. The jerky is not overloaded with seasoning or smoke flavor, so the sweet mellow taste of the buffalo is not overpowered. The product is tender and delicious. This year I ordered several pounds of it to give out for Christmas gifts. I had no problem with the online service. M&S opened a new location in Kalispell. Prior to flying out I decided to give them another try. New location has a great variety but I found that the original beef had only quarter and half pound packages available. As I wanted a full pound I took 2 of the half pound bags to the counter. I was charged for 2 half pound instead of 1 full pound even though they did not have any of the 1 pound available. I asked about this and was told "I only do what the boss tells me" I first bought Jerry from M&S back in 1989. Prices have changed with the times which is understandable but customer service has only gotten worse. I left there and purchased from The Montana Jerky company Better service and price. Excellent! Found this brand browsing the SHOP app and decided to give them a try and glad I did. Not being used to "old west style" the toughness did catch me by surprise at first, but then I really enjoyed the chew! The Honey Buffalo had great mild flavor, not overpowering, not too sweet, just right! And dry but not too dry like the cardboard I've had from some other brands. Very impressed to say the least. Not the cheapest, but you're paying for quality so definitely worth it. I will have to treat myself again soon! read more

They proceeded to block me after viewing my complaint. I assume which was damage control. I even gave them an out by saying maybe I got a bad batch. I was a repeat customer and I received 2 bags of beef jerky and the one was fine. After eating e first bag I went for the second which had moisture inside and white spots all over I thought maybe from flavoring? Tried a bite and spit it out. Contacted the company about it and they don't see anything wrong with the jerky and don't give refunds based on a matter of "opinion" even though I've had their jerky before and know what it should taste like... so now I'm out $40 and they could care less about their customers. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the money. Edit: is moisture supposed to be in the bag? Is it supposed to taste like spoiled meat? I know exactly what it's supposed to taste like and it's not supposed to have that much "fatty deposits" on it. I will continue to blast you guys on everything I can possibly find because that's awful to not try to work with a customer to resolve something that probably happened with the packaging. My mom sent me some of M&S's World's Best buffalo jerky for Christmas prompting me to write this review. I've been stopping into M&S meats with my family since I was a kid, usually just for a few strips of jerky to immediately inhale on the road trip between Hot Springs and Kalispell. So in addition to loving their product the stop holds a lot of nostalgia for me growing up on Flathead. Sometimes if we were lucky we'd catch some kind of animal out front in parking area before it went into process- ha not sure if that happens anymore. I live out of state now so I try to stock up when I'm home. Original buffalo jerky is my standard go-to, but I think all the flavors are delicious. As I've grown I've noticed all their other great meats and Montana gifts- always so tempted to spend allll the money! Happy to see they've improved their website and you can easily order online. I travel to Montana every few months and I look forward to stopping here every time. They have the best jerky ... like ever... but what made this last trip most memorable was the young lady at the counter. I don't remember her name but I was there on Saturday morning, June 5th, on my way out of town. It's been tough in this town since Covid... I'm used to masking up and since I'm in Seattle, it's just part of the deal. During my whole trip, I had plenty of nasty looks and people who were just dismissive of my desire to maintain distancing and wear my mask. I was expecting the same but when I went in, this particular gal put on her mask when she saw that I was wearing one and she was perfectly pleasant and cordial and cheerful on every level. Jerky just like the old days! When we were in elementary school, we would trek over to the General store after classes and buy a hunk of jerky. They were large individual hunks, in a large sealed jar. You would pay your 15 cents, Mr. McMillan would unscrew the cap and lower the jar, and you got to pick the biggest piece in the jar. I bought 3 packs of jerky all three flavor/types were extremely dry and crumbly and had little to no flavor. i pulled one piece out of each bag with high hopes and was completely let down by the quality! I couldn't even get my son to eat it!! I reached out to see if I could send it back for a refund or store credit and was told i had 14 days from purchase to return it ( it took 7 just to get it shipped to me) it had to be unopened and I had to pay return shipping and shipping of the new item?!?! I think their lack of backing their product with a satisfaction guarantee says all you need to know. They also repli they don't want to hear complaints of dry tough jerky because they state that this on their website but this dry toughness is completely inedible!! Ordered sausage and cheese curds online. They sent it by mail. It took several days. The frozen gel pack was warm and so as the sausages and cheese curds. I asked for a refund of only the products which were spoiled. $15.50. They apologized for the poor shipping and packaging and committed to the refund. 1.5 months later and I never received my Update: 6/4/2020 After I left a poor review, M&S immediately reached out to me and were unaware the refund had failed. After a couple of emails I received a check of the refund amount along with a considerably lengthy, hand -written letter of apology. While I was still somewhat bothered by the way my order was shipped I believe that it was a rarity and not the norm. The response I received was unexpected, and very heart warming considering this level of personal accountability and customer service is not usually found, especially since I live here in California. Great Road Trip Stop...... by some miracle some of the treats even made it all the way home! This little roadside shop on Flathead lake has so many delicious meats and cheeses. Jerky made from Elk, Beef, Buffalo and so much more. Pepperoni and sausage too. The cheese curds some in several flavors. We loved the Jalapeno curds best. The Old West Jerky and the Buffalo Honey were both our favorites! Soooo good. And they have a whole case of dog & pet specialties too!
