Yesterday (1/19/2023), I was very glad that M&S Watch Repair could quickly replace the battery in my Timex Expedition sports watch while I waited. In the time it took me to buy an acai bowl next door and send a couple of text messages, my watch was ready to go with a new battery. And the whole thing (parts and labor) only cost $15. I will definitely come back here next time! My only complaint (4 stars instead of 5) was that they reset my watch to the wrong time, more than two minutes slow. As a result, I was late for class that afternoon (and I'm the teacher, so that was kind of embarrassing). So, you might want to double-check the correct time on any timepieces you receive back from them. read more

Yelpers came through once again! Found this place online and saw the reviews for the service I needed. I just bought a new watch and because my wrists are small, needed to remove the extra links in my watch band. When I arrived, I was greeted by Ray and after showing him my watch, he said it would take about 30 mins because a few customers were ahead of me. So I left the watch there and he'd call me when it was done. I left and came back before the allotted time. Due to COVID, there were chairs to wait observing social distancing. They links were removed and extras were put it a small baggie. I was very happy with it and I forgot exactly how much it was, but it was affordable. read more

We inquired with many watch and clock repair shops as to whether they could repair our German Black Forest cuckoo clock. Roy was upfront and honest during the entire process. I had purchased a Pride Coach watch last summer and its battery was dead. This afternoon I brought it to M&S to have the battery replaced. It was a good vibe as I walked in and the staff was friendly and accessible. I explained my need for a new battery and went to have a seat. Within 2 minutes, the gentleman who had my watch told me the battery was working. I guess with the packaging the side pin wasn't engaged. I hadn't noticed. Anyway, no maintenance needed. Went in on a lazy Saturday afternoon to get my watch battery repaired. Prior to going in, I had watched a bunch of YouTube videos, hoping I could figure it out myself. I had to purchase two quarts watch batteries and have one watch service to replace battery. The service was excellent and quick.

Brought in a stainless cartier watch for battery repair. Had done 2 previous battery replacements about every 5y at Giovanna's on Castro but needing the next battery, they told me they no longer did it but M&S was good. Giovanna's normally charged around $25 to do the battery change and it would last about 5y each time. I called M&S to do it, and they said to come in and they could definitely do it. When i got there, they said they would have to keep the watch for a month, and it would be $100. I was a bit surprised. And asked why so much and they said it was due to the nice watch and how long it would take. I mentioned Giovanna's usually took a couple of days and spent $25. But I needed the watch battery so I left it. They called me a month later, and said they "lowered the price" because it was easy, and so it was $60. I went in and picked it up, and within 60 days the battery was dead. Clearly they used an old battery and not a new one. So I went in with the credit card receipt and their original tag from the battery replacement and showed them the battery was dead. They refused to look at the receipt or the watch which wasn't working. They said I must have damaged the watch. I brought it to Cartier who said the watch was just fine, replaced the battery and it's been working for over a year. Cartier did the battery in 1 hour while I shopped elsewhere. W&S was shady about the whole thing. I think they don't know how to do anything but the cheap watches they sell, and a nicer watch battery wasn't what they do, but they took the money. Very disappointing and a waste of my time and $60. read more

Nice honest store. I brought in 2 clocks. They were able to fix the first one nicely and tried to fix the second one. They couldn't fix the second and charged nothing. Only paid for the first. I asked for reference to go another repair shop and he said other shops are gone and the one remaining that he knows of can charge up to $1000 so no recommendation. He commented M&S is more of a watch repair shop than a clock repair but they do try clock repair. Very polite staff. read more
