Other watch places quoted me $35-$48 bucks to change the battery, so I was shocked when Fred gave me a quote on Yelp for $12 bucks! I went to the store without an appointment, Fred welcomed me warmly, and even though 2 other customers came in, I was in and out of there in under 8 minutes! (He was able to help them too.) Aside from the great price and friendly attitude, Fred also noticed that there was some rust in the mechanism restricting the movement and he cleaned it out and added lubricant without even charging me. Really glad my old watch is working good as new again and am thankful Fred made my experience as smooth as possible. Thank you, Fred!!

I came back an hour later to pick up my watch and voila the watch was adjusted to be more accurate. Great! However, it was clear that in opening the case back, his tool slipped and caused deep scratching in the case back. When it was brought back to him, fred says when a case back is opened, some damage should be expected! I certainly did not expect damage. After insisting, he polished off the back but the scratches were too deep. Fred then says the deeper scratches weren't caused by him. Now you can trust me or not that fred caused the damage. But Id heavily suggest taking a picture of your stuff prior to work. Because if something happens, he certainly wont do anything about it. And I no longer think he's honest. He should remember his tool slipping and been upfront. Also they have case back opening tools that don't damage the watch. Id suggest fred look into buying that

Ali told us there was a chance the clasps could break in which case they would need to be replaced. If he could fix them, we could pick them up that evening or the next day. He texted me later that day letting me know they could be picked up the next day. The necklaces and the fixed clasps look and work great. I can hardly visibly see that they had to be fixed. During lulls, she showed me other watches, told interesting history behind the watches and brands, and took me on a tour of the Panerai and Jaeger-LeCoultre collections. She also offered me water or coffee at the start. I initially declined, but after approximately an hour, she brought me water unsolicited. Very kind of her. Austin assisted me on the bracelet sizing and was equally knowledgeable and pleasant. Highly recommend Eugenia and Austin. True professionals who excel in customer service. If you have a very valuable watch, or a vintage watch for which it is difficult to find replacement parts, I believe that the best person you'll find to entrust it to for repairs is Jason Lorist of The Tick Tock Shop. I have an expensive gold Omega Chronometer that my wife gave me more than 30 years ago. A number of years later, the mercury (1.35 volt) batteries that it uses stopped being manufactured because of universal hazardous material laws. I stored the watch away since I could no longer obtain the necessary 1.35 volt batteries for it. I recently read on the internet that there is a battery available that can be used in lieu of the old mercury batteries. When I took my watch out and opened up the case, however, I discovered that the dead battery that had been left in it for years had leaked fluids that corroded the watch's movement. I brought the watch to The Tick Tock Shop and Jason went to great lengths to resurrect it for me at a minimal amount of expense. New movements for a 30+ year old Omega are virtually unavailable, but Jason contacted sources for used Omega parts and ended up locating an Omega movement of the same vintage that his father (who is a watchmaker in another city) had in his shop. Jason combined one salvagable component from my watch movement with components from his father's salvaged movement and installed the rebuilt movement in my watch -- which is running like new with the replacement battery that is now available. The cost of the repair was a small fraction of the current value of my favorite watch. read more

I can't say anything about the quality of his work. I never got that far. I was ready to hire him to repair my grandfather clock. I asked him on the phone if he would wear a mask to come into my home when picking up the clock. He said in a very nasty tone NO! I am over that. I said I am high risk and can you please wear one for the small amount of time it would take to pick up my clock. Again he said NO! He told me I would have to wait to fix my clock until the pandemic was over. This guy is a self centered jerk. He lost my business based on his lousy attitude. Ironically, he offers a 10% discount to seniors, but won't take the small step of wearing a mask to protect the seniors that are high risk in this pandemic. Not only am I a senior, but have underlying health conditions that make me even more at risk. I have had a lot of other people repair things at my house during this pandemic and not once have I had anyone refuse to wear a mask. read more

I grew up in Santa Clara and always trusted Jason's father to fix all of my watches. When Jason took over I gave him a try and he has not disappointed me with his expertise yet. Now, 961 miles away in Idaho, I still send my watches to Jason because he has proven he has the expertise to work on the high-end watches I send to him. He has fixed my grandfather's Hamilton pocketwatch, a vintage Omega Seamaster, a vintage Lecoutlre, and others for me. I am getting ready to send him another Omega, a 1952 Seamaster; a 1947 LeCoultre Pershing; and a 1950's ladies Rolex. I have no doubt they will all be returned to me in superb condition. read more

Took my mother's watch to the Tick Tock Shop. She had received it in 1940, crystal was damaged and it had not run for at least 30 years. Jason went above and beyond to get a new crystal for the watch. Repair was done on time, the cost was as agreed, and band was refurbished. Mother was thrilled to get it back. We have other heirloom items. All will be going to Jason. read more

I brought my Grandfathers gold watch in to be restored. The original crystal fell off and I lost the second and hour hand. Jason told me he could find the parts and make it perfect again at a very fair price. I would take any and all my clock or watch repairs to Tick Tock. Old fashioned service that is rare to find. But Mr. Yoshinaga's kindness and friendliness made her day. She showed it off to all of her friends at the facility, and we rehung her clock at the end of a fun day out. The owner of this business quoted me $70 to switch out the crystal and bezel insert on my Casio…read moreDuro. Everything looked good until I looked closer and saw some pretty large pieces of dust under the crystal. He couldn't see them and argued with me but eventually opened it up again and cleaned it, but after that there was even more dust and a pretty noticeable piece of hair under the crystal. Argued with me some more about it and was pretty rude so I asked for a discount. He offered me $5. I'm gonna have to go to someone else to take off the crystal and put it back on which is basically the whole price of putting on the crystal, so $5 doesn't begin to cover it. I understand he put in labor and legitimately couldn't see the dust but at that point you need to give me a bigger discount. I even showed them a video zooming in on the hair where it was clear, they could see it in the video but wouldn't admit it was under the glass. I should have figured out to not go here when he couldn't see any of the scratches on my old bezel insert.

We drive 62 miles to bring our watches for battery replacements or repair. I have a few Scuba dive and military watches, which can operated down to 200 meters. These watches need to be pressure tested, M&S Watch can perform these pressure test for me with excellent results. I just dropped off several of my wifes watches for new battery replacement. All great experiences. Tony (the owner) is honest and straightforward. I have a jeweler (personal friend) in Palo Alto and in L.A., but when I can I prefer to support local business in Campbell - and Tony is closer and cheaper. This is not a fancy store, don't go in expecting a mall-like showroom. Tony offers a nice collection of jewelry and some watches. In a fancy store you'll pay $10-$15 for a watch battery, in some spots even more. Here you get one-on-one service (done while you wait - at least for the watch battery) and very reasonable prices. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
