Had a quick family dinner at Clancy's on a Thursday night. It's really busy on Thursday because they have $1 burgers. We shared buffalo wings and the pretzel bites for an appetizer. Their buffalo wings are actually one of the best! Not breaded but always crisp. The pretzel bites are basically a salami and cheese sandwich on a pretzel with a honey mustard dipping sauce. Yes, they're delicious. I ordered the Bart Burger (grilled rye bread, hot pepper cheese, pickles, and mustard) with French Fries. It was all delicious and perfectly cooked. Service can be slow but when you're in the country you just kind of have to be patient and know your food will show up eventually. This is a very worth stop next time you find yourself in Rosebud, MO. read more

Just happened upon this gem when we drove an hour out to meet a client. Um... WOW. This is fantastic bbq! Where I live, I like to call it the land of the bland, and this is anything but. We recommend the brisket, the pulled pork, the corn and jalapeño, the ribs, the potato salad... that's all we tried but we ate the brisket in the car, immediately turned around to order two more. Hole-in-the-wall place in the middle of nowhere with great food. This is one of around 3 businesses in Rosebud, MO, which has a sprawling population of 407 residents!!! Alex's (my boyfriend) parents live in a small town west of St. Louis and they have made it a recent tradition to head out to Clancy's in Rosebud every Friday night. Last weekend Alex and I decided to tag along to see what they had been raving about. Upon arriving, we all got a thorough stare down from the "regulars". This place is definitely the town's watering hole and outsiders like us stand out. After taking in all the stares, we settled into a table on their back patio. This was one of the first nights of the cooler weather we have been having lately so we wanted to take full advantage of being able to be outside again! The Friday special here is 3 pieces of fried catfish with fries and slaw for $6.99. Since I knew I wouldn't be back for a long while, I figured I had to go with the special and I was not disappointed! I don't usually eat much fried bar food but this was well worth the splurge! The fish was some of the best I have ever had...served pipping hot with the perfect crispiness. Fries aren't my favorite and seemed pretty standard here along with the coleslaw...the fish was definitely the star of my meal. If you are ever heading out west, maybe to the Lake of the Ozarks or Jefferson City, I would stop by here. Food is good and having locals stare you down keeps life interesting! read more

Horrible atmosphere, did not feel safe. The staff was very rude, seem to be set back in the 1860s...made us all feel very uncomfortable. We each drank a few beers, and try the food. That was a horrible mistake, as it seems to be prepared in the microwave. We will not be traveling back to this establishment. read more

best food I've ever had. honestly this place is great. I got the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer and I was extremely impressed. the chips were homemade. I got their fried pickle burger. and im so glad I did. it featured the best fried pickles I've ever had. I asked my family if we could make this religion. I'll definitely be coming back. the customer service was wonderful and my waitress was there when I needed a refill and just to chat. sorta pricy. not going to lie but it's definitely worth it.
