I recently renovated my house and used M Foley to rewire it completely. The house was built in the 50s and had a lot of electrical issues. M Foleys team recognized the issues and recommended the best and safest est course of action to take for myself and family and the techs answered all my questions step by step through the process from start to finish. They were at my house when they said they would be and completed the job on time. All the staff I mett were clean and professional and i would recommend them to you. read more

Interesting that the previous poster was threatened with small claims court. It seems to be a pattern of abuse of customers. I hired Matt for electric work and he said it was $95/hr two hour minimum. They came, did the work, and then said it was $155 per hour for 3 hours and that the $95/ hour was only for two hours or less. Fortunately I have a written quote for the price I was quoted should he proceed with taking me to small claims court as he threatened. The staff and electricians are nice, but the owner Matt is condescending and snarky. If he does take me to small claims court, I will file a complaint with the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure. read more

The price for the job I hired M. Foley to do was doubled after they arrived because they sent two people to do the work, not one. They left little pieces of electrical wire and debris all over the floors where they worked. Not to mention, two outlets they replaced for me don't even work. Now I have to hire someone else to fix them. Do not recommend. read more

I am the daughter of a general contractor, and if my father had run his business as Matt Foley in Jamaica Plan/Boston does, he would have been out of business quickly. We hired M. Foley Electric to put in a ceiling fan in our Brookline condo's 3rd bedroom, as we had a guest visiting in the heat of the summer. We had ceiling fans already in the other two bedrooms. He sent a sub-contractor who took down the lighting fixture and informed us that he could not do the job as the wiring needed upgrading,and he didn't have the equipment. He didn't put the light fixture back. And they sent us an estimate for more than 10 X the original quote ($2,600). When we decided not to proceed with the work, he billed us for $190 for 2 hours of his time (his guy was there for 10 minutes, and did NO WORK, leaving us with the job of reinstalling the light fixture). When we refused to pay, he filed a small claims case. This guy is dishonest and disreputable to the bone in my opinion. Avoid like the plague. read more

The place is crowded with all types of lights - hanging, chandeliers, lamp posts, wall lights, in door lights, outdoor lights, weather resistant lights, etc. Go there to get ideas and talk to the knowledgeable staff. It's pretty expensive stuff but that's because it's high quality and many are made in the area. They also have a bathroom and will let you use it (unlike the Visitors Center/Chamber of Commerce!)

My experience with M Foley Electric was great from start to finish. Matt himself came out to check out the work I needed done (numerous light fixture replacements) and he sent a couple of his guys out to complete the work. They were on time, did an efficient job, and the price was accurate to the original quote I received. As a landlord and 2 family home owner I am sure to have lots more electrical work in the future and I will definitely be calling Matt again. What impressed me the most was the timeliness of the whole experience. I had several other local companies giving me the run around, cancelling or not showing up for scheduled appointments. But Matt came to my house within a day of me calling, and the work was scheduled and completed within the week. He even responded to me immediately when I texted him questions from Home Depot when I was there buying the fixtures I wanted for the job. Above and beyond. What a relief! Thanks Matt! read more

When I first hired M Foley Electric, I had them hook up my central ac and put in an outlet for my cable. The guys came out, had everything hooked up and running within the time they had estimated. They had to run wires in my attic and they cleaned up and left everything looking better than it had before. For my outlet, they needed to drill a small hole and patch it up. I was amazed how well they did patching the hole up. Its barely noticeable. I have since, hired M Foley Electric for other miscellaneous jobs around my house. I highly recommend them for any job, big or small, that anyone needs done. They were professional, courtesy and pricing was right on track. read more

I hired M Foley Electric for the first time last year (2016). They came for an emergency and the price was more than fair. Since then, M Foley has been my go to for any household problems I encounter. I have not only used them many times, but I have recommended them to many of my friends and colleagues. M Foley Electric also showed to be extremely philanthropic. I ran a big fundraiser for the 501c3 Best Buddies. When the owner found out I was having this event, he approached me about donating.
