It's been way to hot out lately, so decided to try out M Import......Brought my 2026 4runner in first and was so impressed I went home and swapped out vehicles to my 2025 lexus is350 and had them do their magic on it as well! The service I chose was the top one because it had been a while since my car got washed (I hardly drive it). I texted to ask if I could come on a walk in basis and within a couple of minutes I got a response that said yes they accepted walk ins. Once I arrived I was greeted immediately by Ahab who explained all the services, I asked how long it would take and Ahab said not long as he pointed to the car in front of me that was already being washed. It had about six guys working on it. Then came my cars turn to go in the bay to get washed. First thing I noticed was the attention to detail that this place gives to the cars. My car mats were taken out, soaped and then dried. Then the whole car was power washed and soaped by hand. Yes that's right 100% hand wash does mean that here. Then the air dryer was used over and over again to get ALL of the excess water off. All of the guys working did an excellent job and they don't just do half of a job they are very thorough. Ahab was also overseeing their work as they were doing the job making sure things were cleaned and done properly. I can't say enough good things about this place. Also before they let you go they ask you to check and make sure everything is to your liking. I finally found a good car wash place where I don't have to go over the work I paid someone else to do because it wasn't done right. The value is great for the work they do. Got my car washed here and I was actually pretty happy about it. I was a little annoyed that I was charged an extra $10 for an SUV (my car is not an SUV, it's an AMG Coupé. Taller than a car but for sure not an SUV. ). It it's 100% hand wash which I appreciate. Other than the additional $10, my only complaint is the attention to the tires. For $40 bucks i probably could've got a bit more attention to certain things but i guess today was a lazy day. I admit my car was pretty bad but plenty was over looked and disregarded. Hate coming to Yelp sounding like a cry baby but i work hard to earn my money and when in pay for a service i expect it to be done right. I've come here 2 other times and they absolutely killed it and did an amazing job for the $40. I know the quality of work i put out in what i do and i would not have handed over keys with my end result looking the way mine did. I've been a customer here for many years but they recently they hired new guys that knew nothing about amps and broke my sound system by drenching one of my amps with water when shampooing my carpet. When I came in to ask, the man had no idea what it was or to even know to take it out. $825 later plus paid $240 for the detail itself and all they offered was free car detailing. Sometimes you don't need a full detail (although they do provide that if so desired) and just want a tidy up and as it is 58 degrees outside I don't want to be the one to do the tidying. Went here today for the first time and they were fast, thorough, and very polite. $40 for the "VIP" service which includes cleaning inside and out, conditioning the dashboard, etc. I hadn't taken my car to be washed for a year (!) because it has some body damage due to a collision that I haven't had the money to fix and didn't want to risk an automated car wash tearing off what's left of my bumper. So that's one year of dirt, dust, grime on the outside, and sand and dog hair on the inside. All gone in minutes. I'm puzzled by the 1-star reviews saying employees were rude or tried to upsell them. That wasn't my experience at all. This was much a much better experience than any chain automated carwash I've been to. Definitely a find. Will be back. read more

I really wanted to give them a try because they are the only local hand car wash nearby. First flag, I have a small SUV and the listed price is $20 something for a basic wash, because of my SUV I was told it's $40 (granted they do have something posted about additional price for SUVs just not listing the amount). Fine, all was ok until I paid. I normally don't carry cash but wanted to give the washers a tip. I used my card, added an 18% tip and upon completing the transaction I told the cashier who seemed to be the supervisor, that I didn't have cash but added a tip. He stated, tips are in cash only. I told him I didn't have the cash but I wanted that money to go to the washers, he replied tips are only in cash. I asked if the plans on keeping the money to himself, he replied the tip applied to the transaction will help pay for taxes. I was shocked! Pay taxes? Shouldn't that be included in the price? Needless to say, I won't go back. They lost this customer and hopefully someone sees this before using their card to pay and adding a tip to the transaction! Something shady going on. read more

I have to update my review; based on another, recent visit to M Import Car Wash. I won't get into an entire story of the incident but I will state the fact that the manager or person in charge was extremely unprofessional. The manager was very argumentative and making statements that he was the best in San Diego and refused to do a simple task- as too use the air blower to dry the remaining water spots; stating "nothing is going to be done perfect; what do you expect?" What is crazy is there was no other clients there and he had roughly 5 workers and refused to do complete this simple request. He continued to argue with my boyfriend until I intervened and asked him to stop and to please give him the receipt that he's been asking for.
